Air Conditioning Service in Keller, TX
    www.sealheatingandaircondition...
I serviced this air conditioner in Keller this year. I found that the condenser coil was completely restricted. A dirty coil can lead to issues.
The Condenser is a heat rejection system. The way an air conditioner works is that is absorbs heat inside your home and rejects to the outside. If the coils are dirty, air cannot pass through the fins and heat won't get rejected.
Second, if heat builds up the pressures will increase greatly. This can cause system to struggle and overheat. The unit will eventually turn off on a high pressure fault and your house can get hot!

I like to run mine at 55 degrees, in the morning I shave off the ice to help keep my beverage cool all day 😎

I don't recall anyone like repair people telling me this yearly maintenance step or seeing it in any manual. I will check and see if it applies to the heat pump that I am using but I think this applies to most if not all heat pumps like this.

When cleaning, do you have to turn unit off or can you leave turned on?? Thanks.

I just leave mine on. It gets rained on, so it follows that that was factored in to the design. Lol.

You should because you're shooting the water directly into the coils.

When cleaning can you leave unit turned on and running or should you turn unit off?

My grandma was so hot today and the ac unit couldn't keep up and I think this is why as she has never done anything to it

Did this, still didnt really do much. Multiple AC service people come out and tell me nothings wrong with it. Not one has closely looked through the duct, wiring, or anything. They just check the Freon pressure and say its normal then leave...

Yeah, they do need to check everything. Cleaning outside coils is something every home owner can do themselves if they don't have maintenance. We run reports now showing BTU performance and static pressures. Not hard to do either.. You can have several problems with your unit and a thorough check is needed

Yes..that is one way to do it however I would recommend that the homeowner call a technician out to do that before they attempt. Cleaning the sides, like I demonstrated, can get good results. Thanks for watching

Yeah I would have vacuumed it but I texted my son who worked in that industry and he hosed it. I’m going to shut off the ac next time I pass by in the mower in the future. I’m sure the unit acts like a vacuum. Thanks for the tip. Bill
