After WW1, the US drew up several plans for potential future wars. The plan for war with Britain was called War Plan Red and roughly went "Just invade Canada and they'll give up on the spot". This is all to say that Laith getting upset that his wars don't end because Britain isn't capitulating is actually top tier roleplaying.
There are some wild alternate universes out there
For real
15:25 In real life, Florida and Texas joined the Confederacy. The "second front" was the Mississippi River.
I think texas didn't literally join but was disconnected from union and got forced to join
in fact govermor rejected to declare loyalty to confederation so they replaced him.
@makaramuss Texas held a convention on whether to secede followed by a popular referendum. Both voted overwhelmingly for secession. You are right that Gov Houston was ousted because he didn’t want to join the Confederacy, but he didn’t want to stay in the Union either. He wanted Texas to be an independent republic again.
@@AlexChec Based.
@@AlexChecno, he wanted the Union but didn’t have the support for that so tried to steer towards independence to avoid the confederacy. He is the man responsible for getting Texas into the Union in the first place by defeating his opponent Lamar who actually wanted Texas to remain independent
@@makaramuss There's a county map of all the texan counties then and most of the population voted to go to the south, more just didn't respond rather than voting to go north.
Hey Laith, the reason the Slave-Free dichotomy was so crucial to Early America was due to the legislature (mainly the United State's Senate). Due to each state having two Senators, and with every new state you had new Senators added to the Senate, a delicate balancing act was created where the people who would inhabit the new state would decide if the state was Slave or Free. Due to the possible "imbalance" in the Senate if one state was added without a compliment from the other side, things were very, very tense politically at this time.
This led to Bleeding Kansas, where settlers from the North and South rushed into Kansas to attempt and sway the state's constitution. This then led to basic civil war in the state, where pro-Slavery gangs began to enact violence on the "Free Soilers" trying to prevent the expansion of slavery into the American West. This then led to (in)famous John Brown's involvement in both Kansas and later in the failed uprising at Harper's Ferry, Virginia. Ultimately of course, this led to the American Civil War.
and yet nothing has changed since then. now there's still two horrible parties, just like before.
@@512TheWolf512 yea.
@@512TheWolf512 Seeing as how slavery is now illegal, I'd say a few things actually have changed.
@@davidfountain6110too few.
@@davidfountain6110 slavery is still legal under amendment 13 need to be more specific when you mean to say something else
Bro actually made the American dream real
If you do an exploration, you will get events. They don't all pop up, they appear in the right-hand column. You have to watch the events and then open them and click them, because the default option on every event is the maximum peril event, and you have to pick the minimum peril and even then it's about 50-50 to succeed.
You can never take the Monroe doctrine too literally
the fact the Vanderbilt became president is a wild twist of history
TIP: If you back any native american/canadian uprising against Canada and help them win it will restart their colonisation in that state allowing you to come in and colonise it yourself. The UK always stays out in my experience so it's an easy win
Day 187 of asking for you to play Victoria 2 as cuba and become Fidel Castro
OMG MONEY
Laith stands to gain financially if he never does this
Can’t buy honour though… you can buy a video from me it would seem however.
@@TheSocialStreamersif you keep growing those curls we’re just gonna end up throwing money at you for videos, Siam/Thailand game, it’s abit middle of nowhere I’d love to see what you made of it.
i love how reconstruction asks you to get incorporate states you don't own and never have owned because they just expect you to have finished manifest destiny before the civil war.
"we have the lathe already installed, so no one can laugh at me"
*viewers proceeding to laugh an inconsiderate amount
the best part of this video was when he said "IT'S MONROE TIME" and monroed all over those guys
Manifested so hard
YES YOU CAN UPGRADE YOUR NAVY, YOU JUST NEED TO PUT IT INTO PORT SO IT CAN BE UPGRADED. I told you on the last two vikky 3 vids >:(
There actually are limitations, you can't upgrade to Dreadnoughts, Battleships, Scout Cruisers, or Carriers. But before that, yes, you just have to park the navy for a while.
@@paulzagieboylo7315 Yeah, I knew about those ones from experience, but at least you can upgrade M-O-Ws to Ironclads, Frigates to monitors, ect. Also, you can upgrade Frigates to Scout Cruisers, so long you haven't upgraded to monitors, I think.
It surprises me how many people don't know this fact. I was watching a Ludi video the other day, and he mentioned how "I need to delete my entire navy and rebuild it from scratch with ironclads".
No one else has an interest in the great plains either -_-....i'm living in one of those states so i get to make this joke!
yeah we aint go shit there besides farms and windmills
Oh trust me, drug traffickers are *very* interested in the great plains.
Yeah, I feel like a lot of Europeans have a skewed view of how much of the US is actually populated. So much of it is just a long, rural road with a commercial outpost every few miles.
@@100dead I think a lot of people, Americans included fail to understand how BIG the US is. Europe is smaller and has a larger population than the us. cant just make commuter trains go between our cities, its not that easy.
4:10 as an American I approve and hold the same mindset myself actually. The British isles are really just the 51st through the 55th U.S. states
As America in Vicky 3 I always go for what I call “revenge of 1812” (basically taking Canada), Greenland, more parts of northern Mexico and finally domination over the Caribbean.
“You make up 25% of my demographic” 😂
You can get rid of the Indian Removal journal entry by annexing the Indian Territory.
Abraham Laitholn in the thumbnail is doing things for me ngl
I feel like if you are playing until the late 1890s, its pretty hard not to reach 500million GDP as at least any major power.
Hahaha that's not true, as a newbie the amount of times I've had my economy just flatline before I figured out how the economy worked was depressing
I'm glad Laith took some time to do some soul searching and already has discovered himself before the video started
Laith I think your critiques for the diplomacy and war systems for the game are very valid. Personally, they are the reason why I simply did not purchase the game at all on release and got it on sale through the humble bumble for $20, because those are important game features and I find it rather, less than adequate, that a studio with the technical knowhow to make good games after the years of experience in a good frontlines system like that in HOI4 and the individualized systems we had in Vic 2 and EU4, saw this system and said that it was the best they could provide. Exactly what you said, "I want to like this game." That is exactly how I feel every time I load up the game.
"If you're American and you're upset about that joke..."
Me, an American: "What joke?"
You gotta manifest all the way to SE Asia bro. Vietnam never forget 😤💪🇺🇲
I'm kinda late but 12:29 is not a bug. They are a british protectorate. You need to enforce on Britain not mexico. Since you dont control any british states they have no war exhaustion
4:20 as an American, I applaud your efforts Laith, make America the UN again.
Laith playing super America meanwhile France is back in the Napoleonic wars era fighting half the world powers
The bug that removes interests in areas you are colonizing drives me nuts. Not sure if that was fixed in the update.
Thankfully the issue of not being able to station troops on your allies of puppets hq is fixed in 1.6
"I meddle elsewhere"
As an American, that's the most American thing Laith has ever said
The tribals where actually offered assistance to move but only some of them took up the offer. Basically the reason they where told to move was because of conflicts between Southerners and tribals
ayy keep up the great content 🙌
Thank-you Mr. Editor for correcting our boy😉
My favorite part was when he said it's "Manifest Destiny time" and proceeded to Manifest Destiny all over the place
This is the first time I've watched him in a few months. Why doesn't he have music anymore?
Idea for an eu4 mutli part video for you. Complete as many missions as possible in one game by speed running as many as you can then forming new nations and so on. Also as a bonus you have to become emperor of the HRE and/or China (idk if jf you even can be both at once but both in the run if not).
i found it’s easier to get rid of slavery (pre 1.6) if you industrialize the south quickly to get the industrialists more powerful than planters in the south states
We have money?!?!? Are we a joke to you? 4:19
About to find out why we dont have Healthcare
"Americans, please dont leave, you have money." 🤣
Abe really tried to have his generals basically do what you did. Unfortunately the dude in charge of that side of the war just sat there for ages.
If you want to know more about the indian 'removal' I recommend 'knowing better indian removal'
I don't think you know how the Monroe Doctrine actually works-
Isn’t it about America rules the waves?
-American guy
Shhhh this is how it should have been ngl
@@creature2479 The what what you mean!?
@@christopherjobin-official7440 USA > Latinos
7:09 the American who talked to you about segregation is the kind of people you won’t win a discussion with, as an American I avoid them lol
They actually just added the ability to station your army in your subject nations in the most recent patch so you can actually defend them against naval invasions.
Hey! Do you know any mode for CK3 to play as Ragnar or just more starting dates?
Just annex the Indian territory on day one, completely averts the trail of tears, only other way to prevent it is multiculturalism or legislating no colonization
you need hardwoof to build sailing ships. and luxury funiure.
26:12 Laith didn't read the parliament part of the description
As an american with a degree in both history and international relationships, your not wrong most americans couldnt tell you where Arkansas is let alone Nigeria or Thailand 😂
Honestly, the historical innacuracies and gameplay disasters that is the current American Civil War system in Victoria 3 are the main reason why I do not play as my homeland very often.
So the easiest way to skip the Trail of Tears event from my experience is by starting the game by annexing the Indian Territory, if it doesn't exist the event triggers as if you stopped the Trail of Tears from happening.
An elected dictatorship would be a president/pm that is the head of state & legislature, can pass any laws any laws as & when they wish & rules for life
So like a republic in CK3?
@@TomfooleryOfTheTrolls basically, aye
Puppets will only surrender when overlord does
As a true blooded American, this brings tears to my eyes
you also need the big navy to carry you big army
It’s, its beautiful 🥲
YOU CAN UPGRADE MAN O WARS INTO IRONCLADS.

officer balls.
4:30 ish, my Native brain hearing "Indians" and feeling offended before im like "bro everyone calls us that lmao"
Id call this run fake spanish Empire. So you start of as The two sicilies (former part of spain as you know) then form Italy and conquer south america. Would love to see how far you can take this as I found the game to be way harder now
Beautiful thumbnail
They realistically should have just used the HOI2 Frontline system because it fits best.
before he was presideny andrew jackson led the battle of new orleans that was faught compleatly after the peace treaty enedning the war of 1812 but since he was so far away he didn't know the war was over so the whole battle was kinda pointless,
The First American Empire, for a safer and more secure society.
As an American, I can confirm that you should never bolster the evangelicals
I’m. Or upset Laith, it’s simply what should have been. Someday soon the states of Mexico and the states of Canada will be integrated and after that the world.
You should try to form Polynesia
12:20 pretty sure the game wasn’t bugged just laith didn’t know that he needed to defeat Britain because Mexico made themselves a protectorate of Britain.
More imperator rome please and with the tera indomita mod
GOD BLESS
manifest that destiny, daddy
4:14 No we don't, who told you that?
Confederation of the Equator Superpower! (I'm from there lol)
It enrages me when foreigners play America and fail to take the Pacific NW from the British
Day 212 of asking for an Oranje Free State Playthrough of Vicky 3.
milk
the mexico -100 isnt a bug, mexico cannot capitulate till their overlord GB did so even tho you had mex at -100 you needed to get gb out of the war to annex and get all the goals
segregation was primarily a southern thing. granted, some norther business owners did choose to segregate their establishments making them white only or colored only, but thankfully it wasn't as widespread a practice as it was in the south. it makes me happy knowing my state was a free state far before the civil war.
It's important to recognize that the North still practiced Segregation, just not to the extent of the South. Our history is not blameless. Victoria doesn't really have a good method of representing this, though, which sucks.
That's not exactly true, through processes like redlining, places such as Milwaukee or Detroit became, and still are, some of the most segregated in the nation.
@@davidjensen1221Yep, we’d force blacks into power areas of cities, which is why black crime rate in some cities is so high.
does anyone else hear his computer sometimes?
if you go to war with natives and you don't have a full state in that region you lose the interest
POV: Harry S Truman
You should play as Britain and right the wrongs of 1776!
Video 9 of asking you to play assam->Tibet->ilkhanate->mongol empire eu4
Day 1 of asking laith to play one of the siberian tribes in eu4
I can't understand the economy. Was so much easier in Vic2
Wait this isn't EU4
The bugs seen in this video is why i haven't touched this game in a few weeks. Sigh. Hope spheres of influence is good.
Such a shame this game genuinely sucks. Really wish they'd made a good sequel to Vicky 2.
Check out " Gilded Age"
If it is actually good it might be the game we need to challenge Paradox so they have to actually care about the games again.
