I have never seen a show where it felt like half of the actors looked unprepared and didn't seem to vibe with each other. Douglas Watson being the main culprit in the formal department. Only Wyndham. Espy and Burton acted like they were interested in every episode they were in. The funny thing is I'm getting hooked on the show.😂 Very odd type of show But I can see why the ratings tanked big time from 1978 and on. But the Procter and Gamble shows were not mindless crap like the abc soaps were in the 80's
I think that is Ray Liotta as Joey. He was in movies with Robert DeNiro and became well known as an actor. I watched this show in the summer when school was out. First time I saw Amanda she was about 18 or 19. She had just come back from boarding school. I remember a scene where she had a dress on and underneath she had on jeans. Then she met Sam Fowler and became pregnant. I remember thinking that was some serious stuff😆😆. I think Evan Frame kind of fell in love with her and maybe she was a little attracted to him too. Anyway, she and Sam broke up. He left town. I think he was Mitch's brother.
They should have given the Holloways more time to gel with the audience. They ushered them in and out too quickly. They had good actors in those roles. The entire trajectory of the show might have been different (and better) if they had kept them around long enough.
When Bev Mckinssey went on sick leave in spring 80, I think the actress who played Miranda would have been perfect to replace her. I did like Carol Shelley as playing temp Iris but Miranda woman would have been so much better look wise
I like actor ron harpor who plays taylor he appeared on the soap where the heart is as well as the television serise land of the lost he replaced the father who left the show then ron somehow decided to leave will and holly behind and all of the dinosaurs behind and decided to land in bay city he picked the best soap opera town but then after a year he decided to move to washington D.C aka the soap capitol in 1982 till 87 today he still acts i saw him in a movie that slips my mind i will have to google it but its pretty good its about a town that suffers an outbreak of some kind of virus thats making the towns people sick if im not mistaken AW. actress mary page keller who played sally ewing is also in it hope ron is still doing good would love to see him make a brief return to daytime at least the young and the restless would make a better fit for him then those other three shows Y+R is the only one of the four that i can atleast tolerate never could forgive general hospital for not only having a woman marry her rapist but the audacity of having the rapist ( luke ) being patrayed as a hero and saving the world from being frozen by some wheather machine is the most horrific writing in history as well as very very offensive to reallife rape victims and you people thought another world was bad i didnt always agree with the sometimes dumb decisions that the show would make like killing off great charecters like Quinn masie ryan and frankie and even Bridget the latter who couldve just left town together heck even both quinn and zack couldve left town together back in 1990 when the actor decided to leave the show but i alwys respected the AW. Writers who were smart enough to have atleast some respect for reallife crime victims atleast the savage who murderd frankie frame wasnt treated like a super hero ( fax newman ) janice frame had some serious mental issues but they didnt put a cape on her. Unlike other soaps like general hospital and days of our lives who both had the nerve of having both luke and ben respectively be patrayed as the good guys despite there dispicable behavior . Its just like people say its always the good shows that we loose and AW. as well as GL ATWT were definitely way better written shows as were older shows like search for tomorrow and the doctors i also loved ryans hope loving and one life to live as well which is definitely a better title than its original which was between heaven and hell i dont even know who came up with that one .capitol was another good show that was replaced by crappy bold and the beautiful which is another soap where a criminal is somehow a good guy ( thomas ) its easy to see why this genre is sinking and why the ratings arent as good as it used to be they are doung it to themselves
