You don't have to spend hundreds to get a folding bike that you can use for an international cycle tour. Second hand folding bikes can be excellent value if you are prepared to do any repairs yourself! Small repairs and replacing any worn out parts can be done with simple tools and these light weight bikes can be stored easily in a cupboard or under a bed.

If can get your hands on some thumb shifters and ditch the grip shift you’ll never look back. Your gears will always be in tune!! 😃

Yes I show this on my other bikes in my video “modify folding bike” it’s one of my go to mods, though must say on this trip the grip shift has not let us down and both bikes still shifting great.. so I guess if it’s not broke don’t fix!

I will try your 3 minute boiling pasta… but I suggest cooking couscous… less energy,just boil.. nice area!

Love watching your adventures guys, I'm off to France with my folder in a couple of weeks time so you're getting me in the mood. Try Action for cheap gas replacement canisters, there are strores in most retail parks in French towns. Also Decathlon will probably sell them too.
