Random fact: The Macy's Thanksgiving day parade used to have two balloons of Scat and his acorn, and it would look like he was chasing it down the parade route. When Blue Sky shut down, they got rid of the Scrat balloon (Because Blue Sky owned the balloon but no longer had the rights to Scrat after the shut down), but for some reason kept the acorn balloon and used it again, just without Scrat chasing it. Me and my friend call it the 'out of context acorn'.

I thought it was cute. He always wanted a family of his own, and with manny having his own kid and him feeling unneeded, he thought this was the closest to family he could get, and sort of realized that despite being klutzy, he wasn’t doing a TERRIBLE job.
I blocked it out of my memory, but seeing this reminded me that child me felt weird seeing it.

Oh god. I used to be obsessed with Scrat as a child. I had like five or six plushies of him and they all had different names and personalites and stuff. I even made up stories about the scrat gang and their adventures. It seemed perfectly normal to me at the time (I guess because the toys were off-model it made sense that they were different characters?), but looking back on it, isn't that, like, weird or something...

Ice age 2: Dark, slightly uncomfortable sometimes, but cute and funny. I’d watch it if it was on.
Ice age 3: Did Manny ever tell Ellie about his previous family? I get over-anxious parent-to-be arcs, but manny has a legit excuse. Especially in a REALM OF MAMMOTH EATING DINOSAURS!!!! HE DOESN’T WANT TO LOSE FAMILY AGAIN!
Ice age 4: They definitely were pushing some ships and honestly….yes. They did some crazy chemistry and I could watch it all day! And Granny. What do the kids say now? Oh yes…she can step on me.
Ice age 5: why is this a movie? I know they only did it to give Sid a girlfriend….you can’t fool me….and who is Julian? Who are these birds? Why didn’t we get closure with the baby?! WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS MOVIE?!

In 2016, my year (UK) went to see ice age 5, it was pretty much just a "school is almost over and you have nothing coming up so pay this and watch the movie" and the most i remember other people around me reacting was when my friend turned to me smirking when the love interest for sid was introduced

Although I never liked their films apart from the first two Ice Age films growing up, I’m a little sad that Disney shut Blue Sky down. I was thrilled to hear that their animated Nimona adaptation was picked up by another studio, but I wish Blue Sky’s film adaptation of the comic strip Mutts, which started production about 10 years ago, wasn’t cancelled. It was one of my favorite comics as a kid (especially since I love cats), and its screenplay was written by the comic’s creator and his brother, which would have made it as accurate and respectful to the original source as the Peanuts film was with Schultz’ comic strips and animated specials.
Ok but the lady sabertooth could've been my gay awakening. It wasn't, because I was dumb, but looking back... She made me feel things.
Buck carried the movies when things went downhill.
Honestly, if I was in charge, I’d stop at “Dawn of the Dinosaurs” Movie Wise and then do a short later on to show what happened to Buck with his Song in the Astroid movie. Like it’s the perfect way to end off a movie.

For some bizarre reason I was strangely obsessed with the chemistry that Sid and Diego had in the first film as a kid. Like that, “I tease you but I actually kinda like your company” dynamic.
I remember getting so hyped in 5th grade for the 5th movie and then just completely forgetting these movies existed until Blue Sky shut down

Ice Age 5 was incredibly beautiful and that's all I remember about it. Incredibly beautiful if like me you love the colour purple, of course. And that purple lightning, gosh that was cool.

I love the first few Ice Age movies. I haven't watched the fourth and while the fifth screamed "this franchise has run its course", it was quite visually gorgeous and made it canon that Scrat is God (because in this movie, he arranged the solar system together with the help of a spaceship. Yep, that one off gag in the first movie became a plot device).
I use to be so obsessed with the third movie out of all of them it was the one I watch the most and also had a kind of a crush of Buck Wild too.
I love ice Age, and all the main 5 movies. I also love the really weird Christmas special that I honestly thought was a weird dream from my childhood.

i started watching this with ice age 3 back then, and then i watched the first one and the second one lol. and throughout the whole thing, my favorite character or as u may call it a crush is diego :/ and when the 4th one came along, shira became my crush as well. ok why are my crushes sabre-toothed tigers ...
When I was a kid, we had the Ice Age board game (look it up, it was glorious, it had a DVD and the minigames were all interactive on the TV) and my sisters and I loved it so much we played it all the time. Still a little mad though that I couldn't play as the Rudy piece.
As for the movies, I honestly didn't even see the first one for years. I lowkey thought The Meltdown was the first, and when I found out it wasn't I was so confused. The first one was...weird. The Meltdown was easily my least favorite. There was nothing wrong with it per say, I just didn't really care for it. Dawn of the Dinosaurs was a work of art and the best one by far. Continental Drift was pretty good but it just never passed DoD. Collision Course was...also quite weird, but I did like it. Everything after that was a disgrace and should never be spoken of.

I don't know, and certainly can't pin point, but I really never got that couply feeling with sid and Diego's love interests. Like Many's relationship made sense. #2, queer coding is less about personality and more about potential context and subtext. And the reason is because people are starved for queer characters/content, so mass projection, head canons, and fanfic is the only good fucking food available.
