You’re correct Ethan, famous last words…I can get just a bit closer to the wet spot, and then your sunk😂glad your knockin planting out. Keep em comin 🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Looks like you got pretty close to the wet stuff. People are going to say what they want, but it all depends on what works best for you. You're doing great, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to the future videos. See you later.
So far this year has been a straight disaster with the rain. Its hard to get a few straight days of anything done.... but on the other hand i dont wanna curse it too much because too dry is a disaster too. Like you said, not really a right amswer this year
Ethan, that's good that you getting a few more Fields done. Unfortunately there's still no manual of what you should do if the weather does whatever it does yet 🤣 thanks Michael
Well, at least you got seed in the ground. Raining ridiculous here still. The skitters were so bad this morning you didn't need the eat breakfast because every breath was a snack.
I no till with out row cleaners with my white 6180 and it works fine. Not saying it will for you I'm a little farther south (Tennessee). Warmer ground is probably more forgiving
To much of a risk of hair pinning without them. Plus they do a little light tillage on their own which helps dry the ground out and warm it up a bit faster.
Row cleaners were probably the best upgrade to my planter I ever made. Can plant in very marginal conditions with great results. Keeton seed firmers and spiked closing wheels also help a lot with even emergence.
Thanks for not running over the turtle 🐢 I know some people that wouldn’t have cared you are a good man Ethan. Nice video.
Thanks.
Awhile back I asked you how to take care of thistle in a grass alfalfa mix hay field. I just wanna Thank you cause now it's gone and high quality hay
How did you deal with the thistle?

Man!! You sure have crossed paths with wildlife this season.

I’d rather be wet than dry any day.
You can only do what the ground lets you do Farm Boy!! Lucky to get that much this goofy year!
ethan what you did cultivate looks good and i agree with you, that you cant wait for ever cos it dalays the planting too much...oh the joys of farming!
It’s a never ending battle.
Really fighting rain alot here in Tennessee. Rains every week
Progress looking good bud

Yep

Should of had a can of spray paint for the turtle !
This year has been a tester year, but you are wetter than we are up here by Hastings.

She was most definitely getting ready to lay eggs in the hole she just dug, why she was calm, they go into kind of a trance.
Common snapping turtle.
That was the second female I found laying eggs this week.
At least you are making progress with planting maybe slow but you are planting
Yep
Up to you of course but buy like a White 5100 bean planter/splitter
Don’t want a bean planter.
A lot of times it’s gets wetter the more you start poking around…
Still trying to plant cotton in south ga going around wet spots here also
Fun stuff.
Just got 3 in in a thunder storm that was a 40 % chance
That's what I would to do
Why didn't you use the chiesel plow to dry the ground out instead of the disk, it wont plug up.
Because you’re not going to pull a chisel plow through ground that wet… and yes a chisel plow will plug in mud.
Having 8.8 acres planted and losing .2 acres to wetness is better than no acres planted at this point of the season
Yep
yuiks, don't want to tell you,but corn not going to grow in ground worked that wet.
Bet it will.

It might come up, but it probably won't amount to much.
Gotta swing the bat if you want an average.
It may or may not grow, but one thing for sure it won't grow if it's not planted and that's a fact.
FAFO. Farm Around & Find Out seams to be what you need to do.
