While I finish up editing the next couple of videos, I though it'd be fun to let you all see my best speedrun of Dark Souls 3 yet! For this video, I decided to commentate over the run explaining what I do at each part, general tips from what I've learned, and more. CharLa Hadyn i can understand, ludex was my first DS boss ever and i was so scared, i beat him on my first try but DAMN i only survived because i choose the HP ring
You know I feel so lucky because I had multiple friends who had already beaten DS3 so I had good help through the game. Now I'm doing NG+1 mostly solo to get the true Dark Souls experience.

Used this tactic to get the greatsword to do a Guts run recently.
Beat the game for my first time recently in around 10 hours mostly cause I skipped areas using these strategies

It’s an easy enough fight that you don’t really have to consider it unless speedrunning or doing extremely low level.

Been following your videos for quite some time now. Definitely one of my favorite CZcamsrs. I clicked on this video simply for the background noise (considering how long it is) and I ended up watching the whole damn thing. Great video man. Keep up the great work!

Geez that was amazing ! Anri's straight-up broken sword is pretty clutch for speed running , huh? Never used that before but I will now! Too bad I'm only barely average at souls games . This'd be impossible for me.
Thanks Phoenix! Anri's is defiintely pretty broken because it scales with luck, which also happens to scale bleed. Mix in the fact that almost all DS3 bosses can be bleed and it makes for a powerful tool!

ive been playing ds series for a while, but i got bored with the normal playthrough of the game so have been looking for a way to make ds3 more interesting/ fun to play again.. thanks so much for helping me with this man, your commentary is super helpful and really fun to watch!

I've never watched a youtube video that's been this long, mostly due to the great commentary and interesting gameplay I guess.

i havent gotten into speedrunning yet but i think im gonna try BB soon as thats the soulsborne game ive played the most. I stayed to watch this whole video mostly because i just liked listening to you talking (which idk if it is weird) but anyway i love your channel and keep up the great work.

yeah... you can... I tried it but I suck at timing... I can easily parry his first phase but I died like 15 times before i successfully parried him for both phase 1 and phase 2
This is my exact problem, I wreck Champion Gundyr's first phase, then die instantly to his second. Some of his attacks seem to deadangle you too, so that may be one cause.
Decaf Diamond yeah that charge stun attack always get me. Can never get it right for some reason.... I always get it too early or too late lol..
Karl Schweinfurth you can party all of his attacks except his punch and kick, also the jump the attack

I can't watch much because i just play DS3 (last bosses i killed were Watchers and Deacons), but i thought i watch it up to where i am and then save the rest for later.

I'd say you went at least half dist in this one. Great job dude, half dist is the dream for most. I'd personaly be happy with quarter dist.

wow! cool run! :D FYI the Anri's straight sword gives you a small hp/sec regeneration, and when you equip it you get the first "tick" of the hp regen instantly. So when you unequip-equip it fast you're healed by frekvent first hp regen ticks.
This is so cool, loved the commentary on the speedrun. Would you consider doing one for Bloodborne too?

I'll likely do the same thing for any game I speedrun on Twitch in the future. Bloodborne is next on the list! I'll be sure to do another once the DS3 DLC comes out too

I am trying to solo every SoulsBorne game. I have already done dark souls 2 and am working on dark souls for PC and dark souls 3 for PS4. I have yet to do BB because of that dlc and I don't even own demons souls so i have to wait on that one but more of these videos would be awesome. I found this one to be really helpful. Thanks so much demod and keep up the good content
Tipp for animation-cancel on the ashes at the end: 1) for lithric's throne, you wanna run behind it go up to its side, and than jut run straight forward and mash X. When you drop down, it should cancel the animation. It always worked for me when I tried it. 2) for the watcher' throne, I am nt sure but I think there is a little ledge before the prince's throne. Drop down there, and while you running towards the wather's throne, mash X again.
So basically there are 2 dropping points, and you have to mash X (or the button that would place it).

This can be helpful, I'm not interested in the speed run but just in a way to created high level blank characters that then I can spec however I like
i like how im watching a speed run walkthrough when it took me 3 weeks to kill pontiff and im totaling 100 hours and haven’t even reached twin princes yet lmao
100h and not even the whole game wtf how i completed it with 60-70ish hours and i was exploring ALOT , farming minimum 10h~ no hate tho
I think I was lucky I did the Anri questline by accident and had an ember. I also summoned Gothard to top off the phantom count to beat pontiff first time.
Edit: 55-60 hours in, first 3 lords and Dragonslayer armor down, fighting nameless.
trying to do this on ps4 with the nerfed estoc is a pain in the arse!! Has the falling quit out where you quit when you hit the floor and die to skip an area been patched or can you still do that??

you can save a lot of time on wyvern if you run straight forward onto the stairs behind him and do a jump attack when his head is down
hey demod, just curious why don't you double hand attack in the boss battles that don't require parry? is it just to have the shield to rely on or is there a stamina based reason?
They should put giantdad fighting style for Souls of cinder so he can rekt casuls.
This may be a dumb question, but why does DS3 runs go by in-game time? And how does that work? Do you have to manually pause and un-pause the timer every time you exit the game? Wouldn't that make the time not very exact?
No dumb questions my friend. Livesplit is the application most runners use for their splits, and one of the members of the SpeedSouls community created an IGT add-on for it that tracks the IGT perfectly. Essentially what it does is read the time off of your save file so it's completely accurate. When it comes to what matters for judging the run time at the end though, it's whatever time you get on your save file after you link the flame.
First playthrough i didnt understand the ancient vywern fight so i just fought it like a normal boss. Almost threw my controller because "plunging attack" was written literally everywhere there could be something written.
How did you get into SoulsBorne?
I had to try like 5 (frustrating) times before I started to like the way those games work

Cool luck build, I used a hallowed great crovion sythe. For most of the game I cosplayed as the reaper and bleed most of the boss's, but the dragon slayer armor, that dude fu3k me so much. Had lots of fun though luck builds for the win. Good run democracy!!!

Is this a good way to set up for a build and just go back and get items after?
I consider this to be god like skill if you can easily beat all bosses and expose their weaknesses that quickly. Something I'll never be able to do, this is truly impressive.
Btw, if you're not under-leveled, it's really hard to fuck up Soul of Cinder since he does so little damage, and he gives you time to heal alot if you back-up the distance.
I had to learn the claw grip just to fight Sinh. And now I use it regularly.
