This is the history of Coca-Cola Blak as we will look at why it was made, when, why it failed and so much more in this decent sized mini documentary.

I would love to hear the history of Snapple fruit drinks
Still have it on the books!
You had me at coffee-flavored!
How did I miss this? In 2006, I WAS Coke's demographic. (early 30s; fairly worldly) I was into coffee), in a major city, so Coke did fail huge on that mid-way calorie strategy. Decision by committee happens. This content? Dig! 👍-🌴
Dumb committees! They probably had one guy in that room that said his wife is going on a diet and he pushed hard and made it his life’s mission to make it mid calorie so he could score brownie points with her. “Yeah, see that soda babe? I’m the one who made it mid calorie, just for you.”
You’re beyond worldly in my book Norma, a true professional that isn’t on some high horse or BS. Calls it like it is. This comment? Love 😎🤘🏻
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio Awww, back atcha! 💯 I may do further research about this weird launch. 💯Abso-freakin'-lutely about the guy's wife being on a diet. I was once told by an Executive that he wanted me to brand the corporation as "The McDonald's of Healthcare." I was the most junior person in that room, and I said, "With all due respect, if you were having a heart attack, now, would you tell the paramedics, "I only want to be seen by 'The McDonald's of Healthcare'? Cuz I'm betting you're wanting 'The Fancy Steakhouse of Healthcare' instead." 💯😂
And he was good! But what he meant was he wanted people, our patients, to feel free to travel bc we had 550 offices, and they're going to get the same level of care as their home branch. Now, that? I sold the hell out of it. 👍 He was a cool enough guy to thank me later for that shift. I was cool enough to say, "Thanks for not firing my a$$!" 😂
Haha yeah, I feel as successful and authoritative as some people are in high positions, they sometimes dont have the greatest ideas or see clearly how things would be down the road. That’s like when I worked in radio and you’d have some hillbilly who owned a car lot insist on coming into the production studio to do the commercial himself instead of me cutting the voice work for it. After 2 hours of him stumbling over the script, he just freestyled his sales pitch and it still was a mess as it was impossible to hear his marbled mouth announcing. He still insisted that we aired that. So we did. Everyone at the station shook their heads everytime it aired because of how trash it was.
You may own a car dealership(probably daddy passed the business down to him) but it doesn’t mean you know anything elsewhere in the world.
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio Amen, brotha!
I've never seen Coke and coffee go together.
I miss coke coffee, I loved it. I guess it wasn't very popular.
I bought all the flavors of it back in 2021 I think. Gotta review those badboys still lol
@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio I bought the 4 packs at Walmart every week, I only could only find individuals of the caramel flavor. Vanilla was my favorite.
Coke - Cola Blak should come back one day. 😀👍
It definitely should!
This looks familiar. But never tried it. I would haver fit the age demographics but I've always been a black coffee drinker.
Yeah I vaguely remember it back in the day but then I wasn’t a coffee drinker (I have the guitarist in my old band for getting me back into drinking coffee again)
It doesn't seem like a bad idea conceptually, just Coke's execution failed. I think it could be done with the right marketing and formulation. A carbonated cold brew ice coffee cola, calories be darned. By Starbucks! For the working person who really wants to be "on the GO" on a Monday morning. Upgrade to a turbo drink. It can be done. Coffee cola isn't dead yet. It just hasn't been done successfully yet. We'll see this idea tried again.
Coke did try again with coffee cola in 2021 but within a year it was discontinued. Don’t know why, they were pretty popular, it’s weird. Pepsi was planning on releasing their own coffee cola too around 2020-2021 but canceled production last minute. I may crack open some of the coke coffee cans I did buy back in 2021 to see how good they are. Never tried them yet. That’ll be a fun video to do.
