thats what sucks about the whole system tbh. the people best suited to positions of power will typically be the people who don't want positions of power. Those in powerful roles as politicians, CEOs, etc, are the ones that typically seek power for the wrong reasons, e.g. to control. Therefore, this just re-cycles the system with each new generation of power hungry people. Wish there were more good people who had philanthropic intentions in those positions of power.

@@therenegod1285 I don't necessarily believe that as there are minor case studies of people throughout history using their power (social, political, economic) for good that would not necessarily benefit them. Oskar Schindler, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi. There is good in this world. Its just that unfortunately, most of the time, good people want the simple life which doesn't entail the positions of significant power or influence over others.

The line I always come back to is "Why? Why? is that impossible? You're so concerned with squabbling for the scraps from (place any noun you like)'s table that you've missed your God given right to something better."
Love the movie obviously but the reason that line affects me is that my dad, his kids including me, and multiple in-laws all work for the same company. It's a "decent" job but the company screws us over often. It pays just enough to pay rent or a modest mortgage if you're married to somebody else at the company doing the same job, which many are. So many of us took this job because it was dependable, local, and you wouldn't starve.
But you also would never thrive. You also would hate your life and barely make enough to justify the sacrifice. You would also sacrfice countless weekends (and every weekday) missing your kids grow up. Just barely survive and make ends meet and for what?
To have your own children fall in line, into this same company? Just to barely survive? Hardly be able to save? Maybe never be able to retire?
I took the job because everyone I knew did it. And everyone bitches but they come back to: "We are lucky to be working. Lucky to have this job."
I say "Why?" You're so concerned with squabbling for the scraps from the company table that you've missed your God given right to something better."
I am done doing paycheck to paycheck at a job I hate. There MUST be something better out there. I am willing to fight for it. Fuck this generational exploitation pyramid scheme.

This movie is to Scottish history as pro wrestling is to sports. About the only thing they got right was the names. The rest is total crap. A decent adventure movie but historically it is drivel. I could go i to it but I just suggest you Google “why Braveheart is total crap”. William Wallace wasn’t even the real Braveheart. That title actually belonged to Robert The Bruce.

Fans are well aware of the fact that Bravehart is not historically accurate. I've heard this so many times, people ranting about that, simply missing the ideology, the main message this classic is putting out.
Braveheart is not crap. That is not plausible, since it's the pure classic of cinematic art. In 1995. It won 5 Academy awards and it was nominated for 5 more. James Horner- brilliant. Mel Gibson worked his ass off being the director and the leading role of the protagonist. I have many friends in Scotland who said that they were well aware of the historical inaccuracy, but they were leaving crowded cinemas pumped, and ready to fight the English 😉
