  • As it's No Smoking Day today, I thought I'd share my experience on quitting 6 months ago. I now use a vape pen. I guess this story is based on my experience of quitting whilst suffering from anxiety. As my anxiety over the withdrawal symptoms was something that had often stopped me even considering quitting.

Thank you so much for this video, this is exactly what I needed today. It's hard to find information on the relationship between anxiety and smoking, I have tried to quit in the past cold turkey and my anxiety and depression became unmanageable. I am now trying to quit with a vape pen, and this video has given me the final push I needed so thank you so much ♡

I did stop smoking for 2 years via Allen Carr's How to Permanently Stop Smoking... that was great, no anxiety, no problems etc. THEN I had to have two operations in a quick succession. Pain control was horrible, I was walking the floor at night. Through boredom/needing 'something' I turned to my husband's cigarettes! :( I have done some NLP training... there is a method of switching realities which worked really well. It is a visual process of seeing yourself smoking and the disgusting ash tray and then changing the vision immediately with a happy feeling conversing with people (not smoking)... there was no withdrawal pangs or anxiousness throughout the day. Nor was there any thoughts of wanting a cigarette. However 3 or 4 days later I woke up with terrifying panic attacks. Sometimes even continuing after I went back to bed. I have walked the streets at 3am because of the claustrophobic feeling of being inside in the dark (and let's face it who wants to turn on the bedroom light which would wake your partner?) I tried to put up with it but it continued the next night too. Fair dinkum .. a person's got to go to work having had enough sleep! Equalled, back to square one. Ugh!!

It's been like month, I haven't had any nicotine. It was tough the first week but what really helped me was that when I was craving, I would tell myself "I don't dip" or take a cold shower if it was really bad. I still have that feeling of missing something but I know it's just that bad habit that I got used to. My anxiety hasn't been that bad ever since I quit. Good luck guys, beat the addiction and break the chains. God bless

I'm with you on this one, I tried to vape to quit cigarettes. I found out the juice I had, had nicotine in it and was causing my nausea vomiting etc. I got pretty damn sick and was told by a doc that I had nicotine poisoning, first time I ever heard of that considering I smoked a pack a day. Honestly just quit, and push through it. If you fuck up it's okay just try again when you can. Once again I am trying to quit again, just over 27 hrs cold turkey. The highs and lows suck but I've done my best going cold turkey, vaping, patches, gum, pills, all resulted in me caving in less than 3 days. I wouldn't recommend vaping, unless you are 100% sure you don't have a nicotine juice and good luck with that. I'd rather smoke a pack a day then get nicotine poisoning again.

Cigarettes have MAOI compounds (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) used as an antidepressant. This is why people that are prone to depression and anxiety have a much harder time kicking the habit. I quit cigarettes after 40 years with vaping, this is the only thing that ever worked for me and they are far far safer than smoking tobacco.

I took a bong hit every time I had a cigarette craving. It worked iv made it one month since I last smoked a cigarette after 13 years of smoking .now cutting down the weed to once a day I feel great. mild exercise helps. and the occasional shot of whiskey to help with the insomnia. After 3 weeks you will feel awesome.

  • @shvsergehollandervisuals8604

I’m on day six now, smoked for 17 years and then took up a heavy vaping addiction. Although vaping helped kicking the cigarette addiction, It did cause me intake more nicotine and pretty much vape all day long. I work from home and pretty much been vaping all day long for 3 years. I smoked a 1.9ml pod every day. The reason for quitting was I started to get very tired and having brain fog. I lost a lot of my ambitions and I felt over content with just being able to sit down with a cup of coffee and a vape all day long.
I’m thankful vaping helped me quit smoking. But quitting vaping now has been giving me withdrawal symptoms like never before. I get a lot more headaches, and feel very anxious on random moments. Brain fog usually kicks in around the afternoon and seems to grow stronger during the day. The first 3 days I’ve slept a lot and couldn’t concentrate what so ever. I’m on day six now, supposedly after 72 hours your body doesn’t need nicotine anymore but every vein in my body is at times still screaming for nicotine. Having smoked for 20 years since I was 14 years old I can’t blame my body for not knowing any better. But have faith it is going to get better, I’ve grown tired with the side effects of smoking/vaping and really hate the people who are still selling addictions especially to kids. I’m not going to be a slave anymore and give in to it, no matter how bad the withdrawals or anxiety get. Fck big tabacco and fck vaping, im done with that.
Thanks for reading my rant, breaking addiction really sucks and changing habits can be hard. For all us quitters we can have faith that what ever we feel now will pass. Your body might be addicted, your mind can be to, but you have the power over both. Stay strong we’ve got this!

I didn't confusion from the withdrawal of the chemical itself, but perhaps the added stress from quitting could make some people feel flustered and confused at times. Depends on how much the quitting process is playing a factor in their mental health at the time I guess.

I told my friend about the time he was confused and asked him if he had alcohol then and he said yes. Would alcohol make a person that confused? He didn't look drink and wasn't stumbling around.
