Negrita or negra is like saying black yes but it isn't like saying it in a racist way either, in Latin America it isn't used in a racist way like how they use it in the US (just for the people who are confused😁just putting that out there). Prieta or negra are used the same way too (in most countries not all). So Celia was discriminated and brought power to the afro-latina woman, kinda like "yes bish im black, I walk with style, and im proud of it." she spoke her voice and was revolutionary. She is an icon 💗 this was also savage back then, she spoke her voice with such style and uniqueness, she was herself and she loved herself and that only gave the afro-Latinas or black woman in general more power and confidence to be themselves without fear of discrimination and hate.
