Ha Giang Loop 2024: The Ultimate Bucket List Ride (my experience)

In a region renowned for its rich cultural tapestry and diverse ethnicity, with land which reads like a masterpiece of nature, it's the ideal place to get on a motorbike.
Join me in my 3rd episode of the series as I backpack the Ha Giang Loop from Hanoi, with Jasmine Hostel!
When you ride behind the driver on a motorbike, it's better to hold on to the driver. Especially if you're a new rider. Your weight is suppose to be in sync with the driver to keep the motorbike balanced. It makes it hard on the driver when he's leaning one way and you're leaning the other. Majority of the steering on a motorbike relies on weight shifting, which is directional leaning.

Good job capturing your experience on the loop. Did the techno music at the stops and on the boat enhance the experience for the majority of the group. I wonder why they think it has to be a party to be enjoyable. Maybe I’m just too old. I just did the loop with me, my wife and a guide.
Thanks! I'd have preferred it if they didn't, any excuse at all to get the speaker out particularly with the DnB at 10am... If I was to do it again I'd go for a much smaller tour though yes :)

Yeah backpackers these days are more like Chinese tour groups, following a flag in a big group with someone doing all the work for you, telling you where to go, when to stop, where to sleep, what to do... Where is your sense of adventure? Ha Giang should be done independently, riding your own bike and not joining a 30+ people group.

I think one of the best things about it was doing it with a big group of people! But generally I do agree.
I totally agree ! So many people at the start... feel great to do it with other people to share some memories and time during the evening, but is it not the purpose of backpacking ? I didnt do backpacking travel since many years and i'm a bit afraid it changes and you dont meet people anymore..
3 days being shouted at by a small vietnamese woman, whilst surrounded by 30 British children does sound more like the ninth circle of hell than an adventure.
