- Part 2 of 3. We are up in the Victorian High Country up behind Licola, today we finish off the Caledonia River Track, visit Guys Hut, Dimmicks Lookout, Kelly Hut and McMichaels Hut before heading down the very steep Dingo Hill Track to find ( in my opinion ) one of the best camp spots in the area.

Great vid. I hope to get to see Guys &!Howett Hut this summer.
Ok also looks like you forgot to close the hut door 😃
Make sure you walk to Pieman Falls near Guy Hut, don’t be like me and now have to go back again to do it.
And also, if your telling me that I didn’t close the door… thanks for going back and watching some of my older episodes! I appreciate it 👍🏼

No problem Adam.
Glad you enjoyed it, just make sure you lock your hubs in and you should be fine !! 😂🤦🏽
Great video. What's the camping location you stayed at this night? Love the river access. Cheers.
Hey mate… it was at the bottom of Dingo Hill Track on the Caledonia River, bloody awesome spot 👍🏼
Buttercups(weeds), alpine daisy and trigger plant natives.
If the alpine daisy is the white with the yellow centre, we call it the “ ox-eye daisy “ and class it as a noxious weed up in the Snowy Mountains I’ve just found out recently.
But I’m still learning so I could be wrong?
@@aguyandhistroopy you could be right. I’m not expert.
@@tinahill9220 same here, just with working on the Snowy 2.0 project I’ve been paying a bit more attention. 🤦🏽😂
Great video mate ! But there is another little spot back towards the switch back direction for about 2 or 3 cars which may be batter
Is that on the right as you go up Dingo Hill. It would be on Dingo Creek not Caledonia River? Seen a track off there on the way out.
@@aguyandhistroopy as you drive down dingo hill road from tamboritha rd after those switch backs its next to the first or second water crossing
@@rudvs one of Tyler Thomason’s latest videos at 14min mark ( uploaded 10 days ago ). Is this the spot. ? Looks awesome.
Yer that is the spot
@@rudvs might have to go back and check it out. Might even lock my hubs in this time !
So - which is steepest? Herne Spur, Eaglevale, Burgoynes, Butcher Country, Link track, or Dingo????? Or something else like Mt Joan, Deep Creek #4.... I'd hate to do any of them with only RWD
It’s hard to well which is the steepest, I’ve heard Herne is one of them, but didn’t think much of it really, as it wasn’t shaley and you had a lot of track to choose your lines, where Burgoynes ( Axle Hill ) probably wasn’t as steep but was shaley AF with no lines to pick, so you had to commit.
I heard Dingo was steep, but it was done in 2WD with a rear locker in the old troopy.
Plenty more for me to see and attempt, only been back in Vic for 2 years now.
But I won’t do anything I’m not confident in, not gunna damage the troopy and put it off the road again. 🤦🏽
I THINK THE YELLOW FLOWERS WHERE FIRE WEED, BAD STUFF
Yeah mate, I’ve later found out now I’m working on the Snowy 2.0 job there are a lot more noxious weeds then I first knew.
Thanks for watching and taking the time out to comment. 👍🏼
Thought you’d gone over the edge or something! No evidence of traction problems here?
I’m still here… Troopy is going well, my MacBook Pro not so well. Hoping I’ve solved the problem.. and the videos start coming a bit more regularly now.
