Hola, fa uns mesos vaig haver de participar en una competició de ciclisme a Andorra! Conec molt bé el castellana i el francès, però vaig buscar per internet i et vaig trobar i gràcies a tu i a les teves publicacions vaig aconseguir aprendre el català en el model bàsic, és a dir, entendre'l i parlar-lo sense problemes! No vull dir-vos que els responsables del Mundial d'Andorra es van sorprendre quan un resident d'un altre país parlava la seva llengua i entenia el que passava! Gràcies a això vaig poder fer algunes coses que sense ell no hauria fet! Moltes gràcies per això!

Yo creo que en España en general es más fácil conectar. Va en la cultura de compartir de estar en la calle, terrazas, estamos más receptivos. Las propias ciudades son en general más vivas. En esto nos diferencia yo creo que bastante de otros países sobretodo del norte de europa

Hi! Interesting video. In my case, it's not easy to meet people. I'm shy and my level of English isn't enough to speak confidently. I hope that when my level is advantageous I can make some friends. A good level of language is necessary. necessary . Greetings everyone!
I get it, you can try to start with less stressful situations, maybe only with one person or in an environment you feel more comfortable :)
Cuando era en la universidad, parecía más fácil encontrar amigos que ahora, pero pienso que ahora tengo más experiencia y más competencia social, entonces en la verdad es probablemente más fácil ahora. Muchas veces (durante la universidad), tenía la noción a veces que yo incomodaría la gente o simplemente que ha gente que yo no le gustaría por algún razón. Pero es simplemente un hecho de la vida que ha gente que no se le gusta sin razón obvia.
Para mí, la universidad era un buen tiempo para aprender como tratar otras personas, e como encontrar la gente con que más probablemente tendrá una buena amistad.
Sí, cuando era más joven también era más insegura y tímida. Pero la verdad es que depende de la situación, a veces todavía me siento insegura o fuera de lugar. Otras veces, me siento tranquila y hablo con gente nueva sin ningún problema :D
He vivido en España por 8 años y es muy difícil hacer amigos si no sales de la casa. Yo uso Tandem y HelloTalk pero puede ser dificil encontrar gente con intereses en común. Hablo un poco con las madres de los niños que van al cole con mi hija, pero no son amigas de verdad. Quisiera encontrar alguien que puedo salir por un café de vez en cuando

Hola, estoy escuchando el teléfono podcast para practicar el catalán. Y me gustaría que hicieras una cosa sobre los diferentes pasteles que hay en Cataluña y España.. especialmente sobre los pasteles diferentes que hay en cada pueblo.

i studied computer science in germany, it was garbage, nobody was interested at all in having common activities or even learn together in the library. It was a lonlysome time, but it was i guess little easier as you are younger and people are still little more open minded, but now at work most of colleges have alreay families and most likly you keep your self busy with hobbies.. in my case i have only one person hobby, i should start to look for social hobbies, but it is still very hard. German are not very social and as you mentioned "i already have my friends" closed groups...
It takes time, but if you like languages and live in a bigger city, you could try going to language exchange meet-ups? Hope this helps 🙂
@@CouchPolyglot Hey, thanx for ur response :) as i am already living 10 years in germany i am very fluent (near to native) so i guess that wont help much.. i dont know what worked for other people, but as i dont like parties, alcohol etc it is not easy to find social activites, maybe it is a topic you can talk about, if understood right you were long time in germany too!
this one is really complicated😨first of all, it depends on your personality💁♂️it also depends on the country/culture you live in - it might be easier to make friends in italy than in finland (sorry...) and there's a lot of prejudice or racism in the general population. you have to come from a "good" country (from your host country's perspective) - according to a map i saw a few weeks ago people in central, northern and eastern europe find italians most attractive. british, french and a few others find spanish most attractive, italians like swedes (they might have asked men only?) and spanish like french... so, if you're from one of these countries you're good, if you're from maybe northern macedonia, not so much...
super interesting, I had never looked at it this way. When I say I am from Barcelona/Spain, people are automatically intersted and nice. I guess that is not the same reaction if you are from another country, I never thought about that :O
@@CouchPolyglot sure, people spend their vacation there, so they'll like the country and the people. but places (and people) they know exclusively from the tv news, or that are generally considered "inferior" - i.e. poor, or different religion? different story
@@CouchPolyglot but, beyond racism, there is probably a "right" amount of difference. if someone is exactly like you, that's not interesting, because you know yourself already. if someone is totally different, there's no common ground, you cannot really connect. but, someone from like a neighboring country, that's interesting. you've got enough in common to connect, but there are interesting differences to explore. 💁♂️
Bien hecho Laura! En mi situación, no tengo tiempo para conocer y encontrar a otras personas - entonces uso italki como la forma en el qual practico hablando otros idiomas.
Sugerencia: Para tus vídeos en español - has jamas considerado usar el mismo contenido, y simplemente traducirlo al catalán? Ya tienes el texto de ese video (ya en inglés y español) - así que no debería llevar mucho tiempo traducirlo mientras estas gravando un video? Solo un pensamiento - Como siempre, muchisimas gracias por todo lo que haces por nosotros! - :)
