- Episode 4 is here! We are almost ready to put this classic Honda back together! In this video we go over what's left to get done with this project and I clean up this used carburetor that I picked up off Ebay. The old carb was completely shot , the worst I have/ever will see... So the only real option for us was to replace it. Being that it was a 1982 there were no new carbs available and I even asked Lectron if they could make one but they said no. So I found this gem and paid $150 for it which I felt was fair considering its rarity.
I had a scare when I first unboxed it! But as I explain in the video it was the correct carb. Anyways it cleaned up quite well and looks like a winner now after re-assembly. I recommend taking the carb apart like this to make absolutely sure that none of the jets are clogged and that no dirt/debris is floating around in there.
This one isn't the most exciting but I wanted to show the different problems you may run into when rebuilding a very old bike like this one. Thanks for continuing to follow along with this vintage rebuild. I promise that we should be wrapping up the series in the next month. Just need to film the reveal now!

@@StraightLineCycles i can understand that! And heck yeh sounds good!
wow, its coming along very nicely
just a little note at 8:43 down in the hole of the regulating screw you have a little o'ring and a washer. You can get them out with a small pick/hook. Sometimes it can happen that they fall out, so just be aware of not loosing them if you leave them in.
Thanks for the wisdom! I know that the carb works perfect because we installed it and the bike was running amazing! Video to come on that. Appreciate the comment 👍🏼
Do you know which throttle cable goes on which side
My carb was missing the plastic piece you took off at 7:10, would that be the reason my bike will not idle? it's an 81' xr200r
I am not sure that would affect it that much. Could be your air fuel screw also
Where did you find a new carb for your xr250
It was a used carb from ebay
