- Alex and I finally get her new ceramic coated long tub headers installed on her badass 1978 Dodge W100 Power Wagon! The old exhaust was pretty tired, it was time for a change. The job started out easy, but like always with classic cars and trucks turned challenging. Tag along with us as we get the job done, and enjoy the back and forth fun we have working together. This is episode 1 of a multi part series.

That's a great era of Dodge truck.
sure was my man!
That big Dodge is bad ass!! Sounds great! I'm busting out my 1980 W200 truck for a complete resto later this year. It's got an LA360, but I have a Magnum 5.9L to swap in complete with the Frank Fanelli distributor plucked right from the 250 at RPM junkyard! Right now it needs the engine, frame, cab, rearend, driver's door, and a bed replaced. Other than that it's mint! I have a 2WD parts truck from Florida for donor parts.
haha thats awesome yea I left a new ignition in that truck!! thats awesome man glad she was able to help add to your truck project
I always got to correct people too when they call a engine a motor but I still call engine mounts motor mounts but that's the only thing I call a motor on a engine LOL!
All I know... I love the truck, but that woman is awesome
My wife is awesome, one of a kind!
I guess we know who the gear head is. And I can only guess that he should be home washing the dishes, and vacuuming. Lol!
Pre tbi Chevy and dodge are hands down the best trucks ever engendered
She is cool lucky guy.
She is the coolest😎
If its a 4x4 Power Wagon it cannot be a D100, D series trucks are 2WD and Power Wagon/ W series are 4WD
correct I made that typo thanks for the catch, thanks! the truck has a mix of parts including a 74-76 grill and incorrect badges but she is a 4x4 PW
The front end is from a 79. Blinker lights are located below the grill.
I had both a 78 and a 79. The 78 had a 318 and the 79 was a basic slant 6 with a manual 3 speed manual shifter on the column. The 79 served me all the way through college after leaving the military. It was a wreck for sure, but lasted until it blew-up at 206, 666.0 miles.
no that's a 76 and earlier grille the 79-80 is different it has a square look around the round headlight with the bar divider in the middle they look kind of the same but they are not. I have had a 76 and a 1979 round headlight grille and they are different most 79 grilles are the stacked square headlight deal but then here was the round headlight deal to for 79-80 but hers is a 74 to 76 grille
actually it has a 74-76 grill!
What lift and tires does it have? Looks good
What brand headers did you end up getting?
Im looking for a Dodge W200 but I really need to get into the maintenance part of such car, I dont have alot of knowledge about it but how hard could it be :D
Here in the Netherlands those are pretty rare compared to America where you can see one every corner you look.
Hey man the w200 is an awesome truck and I love mine, I'm practically staring from a frame off build so I have had my fair share of troubles but in the end they are all worth it. plus there is a lot of information on them in old forums and even on Facebook groups you can ask questions and people always have answers.
I have a 78 w200 short box with a 440. Just put new headers on it yesterday. Total torque monster.
What brand are they
Yo, is that thing a manual too? I've got a 77 I'm taking the old headers off of, installing new 😎👌
Believe it or not the cast-iron manifolds bolt to the cast-iron block without a gasket. According to my uncle Tony anyways.
I’ve since learned similar with other engines, such as Buick nailheads 💪🏼
I end up finding everyone I follow on Instagram on CZcams.
haha that's awesome!
Ahhhh the ol motor engine debate. An engine can be a motor. A motor cant be an engine. Even one of the biggest auto manufacturers agrees. General motors not general engines 😂 and making me miss my 75 power wagon even tho it was a bit of a pile
the great debate it is haha, and yea sorry to make you miss it pile or not still fun trucks!
Not a 78 grill though.
We’re aware, Alex likes the 74-76 grilles better.
@@FanelliRestorationsThat's fine, I like the earlier grille better also. But, because of the park/signal lamp placement, it's a completely different front end. Looks nice regardless!
Needs a electric fuel pump
Ford motor company, mopar is motor parts, General Motors, Detroit is the motor city, and it’s Harley Davidson motorcycles not enginecycles
You got more problems than just a starter
