To the people at Baker Publishing or whoever has the print rights/permission please Strongly consider a reprint of this Bible! At 100K plus views of this Bible there are many interested in getting a print copy! I feel Disciple Dojo would deserve a small percentage of the sales for putting this Bible on a lot of wishlists😊 and hopefully he gets to do a remake of this review for the reprint version❤
This one is no longer being printed?? Sigh…
Seriously I've looked everywhere for it
Correct. It's simply unavailable.
@@shonteehargett6932 there are two copies on Ebay, for extremely high prices. Some are really taking advantage of the situation. There one bid for 510 dollars
@@wereldatlasyes, just saw another copy in hardback on ebay go for upwards of $400, the leatherlike version of it seems to be going higher than $450 on ebay and hoping Baker announces the reprint date so us Bible Nerds can finally wait it out and breathe😅
Thanks for the review! Spent a year working on that project. Means so much to hear the work was worth it.
Maybe you can persuade Baker to sell actual print copies!
Is there anyway they are going to reprint this because there are a lot of people that would like to get a copy of this and we can’t find it nowhere online🙌🏽🙋🏾♀️💯
I got this channel recommended just in time for Christmas.
I'm definitively checking this Bible and also some of the ones mentioned in the comment section.
You keep adding to my wish list of Bible related reading. 🙂
Thanks for the insights.
But you can’t even buy this one….
@@daveonezero6258 electronic versions are readily available and used ones can be found. This channel seems to often recommend study bibles no longer in print though.
I am so glad to see your Review of this AWESOME Study Bible! This is definitely one of my favorite Study Bibles. I fell in love with this Bible immediately. I purchased this Study Bible in 2022. You've pointed out some things that are very important for my studies. Looking forward to more of your Reviews.
Thanks and a great review. I bought one about a year ago but need to use it more often. It was not easy to find in the UK but managed it. Thanks again.
I just got the Kindle version. Someone anonymously is just really wanting to bless others. $3.99? Sereiosly...so grateful, and all glory goes to God.❤
It's just a day later and costs $9.99. Only the Kindle version is available. I want a physical copy. What is the other study Bible he recommends?
It’s $14.99 for electronic version today.
Great review. God bless your ministry.
Can’t wait!
Thank you for your thorough review. That looks like a great Study Bible. I have a lot of different Study Bibles & I just love them. My bookshelves are too full, so now it’s get them on my Kindle Fire. I do wish some like my Chronological Life Appl. one were offered in more translations (chose KJV over NLT).
This and the Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible are my favorites! Incredible work.
Thank you for the recommendation
*Baker Illustrated Bible COMMENTARY vs Baker Illustrated SB* , hey people!, since its out of print the SB, the Baker Illustrated Bible Commentary its an excellent option, since it has exactly the same study notes as the SB,...thats for sure, also it seems that instead of the scriptures it has more pics and essays...
I am so surprised this was "new" to you?! I have had it for a few years + love it!!! Absolutely wonderful review and video...tyvm for sharing your thoughts, great job!👍

Keep reviewing ALL the cool study Bibles. Now I know what to keep an eye out for when shopping used books. Thank You!
And me.
I bought this on a few months ago not knowing anything about the CSB or the Baker Study Bible. I find I am starting to use it lot and loving it and the CSB translation!
How did you buy it; new or used? It seems out of print. Please link the store. Thanks!
Just find your channel. Love it. Great stuff! And I love your collection in the background 😊 Stay blessed, greetings from Germany.
Danke!
I'm a giant fan of study bibles. I'll have to grab this one. Thank you!
Ma... poi le legge, e le mette in pratica?!! 😳😳😳😳
this looks really cool, thank you for telling others about this
I really like it. It's in the CSB translation, which is also a very good translation. Personally speaking, I wouldn't say it's the best study Bible or my favorite study Bible, but it is a very good study Bible that's better than many other study Bibles. Definitely one of the better study Bibles. 😊
One of my favorite Bible's is my HCSB.
Not sure why Baker seems to stop printing so many of their biblical reference books. Nearly all of the “Baker Illustrated” volumes on my shelf had to be purchased used.
❤ I have this! My all time favorite!
I have that Bible and I love it!!! I studied it several years ago…. I was surprised that not many people talked about it.
How do you compare this SB to the newest Baker Illustrated Background commentary?
My favorite Study Bible!
How do you compare this SB to the newest Baker Illustrated Background commentary?
i like the blue color on the footnotes and on the articles kind of reminds me of the cristian growth study bible that i own it has the 1984 text of the Niv its awsome wish more bibles did the blu intesd of the red i have a thompson chain but the red letters keep me away so i dont use it as my main bible sadly
I have this exact Bible and love the CSB translation.
Tim Nickels just listed this book as one of his favorite study Bibles, too. I considered it when I was looking at different CSB options, but it didn't seem to offer much that I didn't already have from other resources. I do wish some of the study Bibles in the 2017 edition of the CSB would get proper updates with the 2020 text. (The differences are minor, but they're enough to make me unenthusiastic about getting a print Bible that uses the earlier edition.)
Do you know the other favorites in Tim's opinion?
@@RichLuciano1 I'd recommend going to his channel and watching the video from a couple of weeks ago. He not only lists them but shows them.
I also wanted to say this is my favorite Study Bible on my Kindle app compared to my Zondervan Archaeological SB & Cultural Backgrounds SB. The study notes format on the Baker one is the best, IMO. So easy to navigate.
That's good to know. I want to add this one to my Olive Tree app, but wasn't sure if it would translate over well like my ESV Study Bible.
@@LocaChoca I purchased it on my Kindle for $9.99 but I can see why people want their SB’s on their Logos or Olive Tree. I have both of them. I just don’t use my Bible software much because of the cost of adding Bibles/books. They both have some good sales at times & I need to pay more attention to the sales.
@@katielouise3924 I agree. The cost of bibles not on sale are astronomical. The Baker one is 40 bucks, which is too steep for an ebook. I'm just worried the ebook will go out of circulation too.
Filled with lots of excellent facts and quality info. Just remember Baker Books is basically a Reformed publishing house. In other words they are calvinistic, amillennial and reformed.
This is key to mention. My fav is the fire bible in MEV
Outstanding!! That will make me want to purchase even more!!!
I have several study Bibles. It is very useful to look at them all when reading some of the more “difficult” passages of Scripture. As a Catholic, the Bishops Conference of England and Wales does have only one officially approved translation for use for teaching and study purposes. Currently, this is the Second Edition of the Revised Standard Version (1971/72) which is, in fact, very close to the original RSV (1946/1952) and just removes some of the more archaic language. This is soon to be replaced by the Anglicised version of the English Standard Bible, the most recent revision of the Authorised Version (the “King James Bible”). However, most versions of the Authorised Version are very similar. I happen to use a study Bible based on the New Revised Standard Version, simply because there are plenty available in this translation, which is the version adopted by the Church of England and, in fact, used by the Catholic Church in Canada. The Catholic Church requires any translation to be a direct, literal, translation from the best manuscripts in the original language. As a result, “interpretative” translations, or those using the “dynamic equivalent” approach are not permitted. Similarly, a “translation from a translation” is not permitted, so English translations from the Latin Vulgate are not now permitted (the Douay-Rheims or Knox translations, for example). This may seem very restrictive, however, once you permit a translator to impose his own “interpretation” when translating from the original language, there is always the risk that he will introduce his own personal bias into the process. The Catholic Church teaches that the Sacred Scriptures have God as their author and that he used the authors as His instruments. As a result, the most authentic versions of the original manuscripts in the original language must be taken as having been written by Almighty God himself. Therefore, a translator must translate directly and literally from the original language - he cannot interpose his own personal interpretation along the way, to make what he might consider “better sense” of what Almighty God has written.
Looks like a nice Bible. Reminds me of the ESV study Bible.
Best study bible I've ever used is the Thompson chain reference.
It would be wonderful if I could find one. I respect your commentary and enjoy your honest opinion.

How do you compare this SB to the newest Baker Illustrated Background commentary?

@@jamesbarksdale978 I just purchased the Baker Illustrated Bible Commentary on ebay, ill get it in a week. It seems that it has all the study notes of the SB and a bit more! .
P.S. The Baker Illustrated *Background* Commentary seems to have fewer and very shallow comments-notes.
The Companion Bible by E.W. Bullinger is a great study bible.
It’s big, but I love it
I can't find a hardcopy for sale anywhere... Only online formats.. 😢
Nice work.
Olive Tree Bible Software has this study Bible. Nice thing about Olive Tree (and Logos) is that I have both these excellent programs on my PC and on my phone, so I carry my entire Bible library wherever I go.
I really appreciate you looking at the different takes on Romans 7. I compiled a book called The Arminian Bible Commentary and just added a quote from Tertullian that demonstrates how he understood the text. He took it as Paul describing his own past experience while under the Law. This is how I take it as well. One thing that is very telling is how English translations all too often render the present tense verb κατεργαζομένη (is working [death]) into English as if it were a past tense verb, but then they suddenly shift their methods in verse 14 ff. to rendering the present tense as presents in English. If they were consistent with their approach in verse 13 it would likely help resolve common misinterpretation of that passage. It’s sad that people take that as the normal experience of a man after he is in Christ.
Wow! Very good study Bible!
I've been really liking the CSb translation lately. A few places are saying this Bible is out of print & only have ebook copies.
I have this.. I’ve found at least 3 issues with cross references to wrong places… still love it
Cool shirt.
Thanks for this review!
One technical thing though: Not sure if anyone else ran into this issue, but even with the max resolution of this upload (720p) I still couldn't really read the text
I can’t either. He didn’t record it in high resolution. And 720p is not enough to be able to read the text.
Well this video blew up. Congrats
Great video review! However there’s another Baker book that dives much deeper into Bible study with “𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮¨ book, by Gary Burge. It’s a verse by verse study book. There’s a ton of contributors in that book as well. I use it in conjunction with my 1984-NIV, 1995-NASB and/or NKJV bibles. It’s a much more in depth book than the Baker study Bible.
Yes, commentaries are almost always more in-depth than any study Bible on the market. So if people can't find this one and don't want digital, that would be a helpful tool for sure.
@@DiscipleDojoI don’t have a study Bible and I don’t know if I should get the NET with full notes or this.
After this review it's impossible to find one to buy!
I just got mineee!!! By the Grace of God, there is still a christian bookstore that sells a brandew copy of this here in my Country The Philippines!
Speaking of phased out titles, I picked up the Archaeological Study Bible from eBay, at your high recommendation. The smaller-than-usual print discourages me from delving into it as much as I’d like. And I’m not old! I’m 34 and don’t need reading glasses. Am considering purchasing a reading magnifier to put over the page of your beloved Zondervan title. In the meantime, am loving the NKJV Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible and the CSB Holy Land Illustrated Bible. I highly recommend both. I also own the ESV Archaeology Study Bible but don’t much care for it as I do those others which are more chock-full of interesting articles, break-aways, and photos. Thanks for your in-depth reviews. Have also purchased two Jay Sklar commentaries due to your interviews with him. Picked up his latest Numbers commentary and an older Tyndale commentary on Leviticus. Thanks
I was able to pick up an Archaeological Study Bible from EBay as well and I love it. I also have the Cultural Background Study Bible but my copy is in the NRSV which isn’t my favorite translation but it’s still a great study Bible.
Now I feel old. I'm 35 and only use Large prints (10pt) for both bible and study bible. 🥲
WE also need to lobby Olive Tree software to obtain and offer the Archaeological Bible. Then you can increase the font! When you give them recommendations, they always send you a 10% off coupon!
Do you have the Biblical Theological study Bible or NET (with full notes) Bible?...love to hear your comparison to the ones you listed.
@@velvetvideoI don’t have those
I’m still surprised that this was discontinued. Even as a Catholic, I found that this study Bible has a significant number of decent helps for scripture study. So when the local Christian bookstore was selling these for A$20 a copy new, I picked one up quick smart.
It is a strange irony that Christians strive to study the Bible diligently, but miss the part where Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for studying the Bible diligently.
It wasn’t the studying of the Bible that he rebuked. It was the harshness of the Rabbis on people who didn’t follow the law perfectly. They did pretty bad things to people in the name of God, and that is what Jesus rebuked.
@@dylancaldwell8337 Thank you for proving the irony.
He did rebuke their harshness. You are right about that. But he also rebuked them for their diligent study of the scriptures. After all, that's where their harshness came from. And it was their diligent study that prevented them from hearing the father's voice and knowing that Christ was who he said he was. That's what John chapter 5 means.
John 5:37-40 "And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life."
Nor does his word dwell in you... Jesus said that to the guys who had the first 5 books of the Torah memorized by the time they had hair on their balls. And who went on to train as specialists in the meaning of those writings.
Fishermen and drunks and prostitutes and tax collectors could hear the voice of the Father tell them that Jesus was the Christ, but not those who loved scripture. That's a highly inconvenient truth for Christians. Don't you think?
You should... study the Bible more diligently. Then you would know it better and know that God actually hates the diligent study of the words of dead men.
The Bible is a beautiful and poetic book. Perhaps the most significant book ever written by the hands of man. And it also happens to be a graven image of the Logos. Believing it is God's word to you and studying it diligently ensures only that for you, the Logos remains silent. You can either regard the living word as God's word, or you can regard the ancient writings of dead men as God's word. You cannot do both for you cannot serve 2 masters.
This came from the baker bible commentary which has been around sinse the 80s I think, which was more recently updated to the baker illustrated bible commentary this study bible came from.

I have the Baker Illustrated and the ESV Study Bible and honestly I think for in-depth study they are essentially equal in value.
For daily reading I prefer the Fire Bible and the Dr. Jeremiah Study Bible
One is Reformed Complementarian, the other is not. That is a key difference people should know when assessing them both.
Doesn't matter which one. All are Harlot Daughters, Catholicism the Mother Harlot. Therefore no difference between all the Pagan Sunday study bibles secretly published by Catholicism 🌞

About the crossing of the Red Sea, early in google / google maps, could have been 2010 or earlier… I was looking on google maps for topology evidence in the satellite images of the waters in the Red Sea. I actually found it! I mean I found on the maps evidence of high ground from one side to the other. And each shore side pointed out a little at the line. I was like, “oh my gosh, there is the evidence right there!” And also thought they probably remove this because it shows the evidence. I had an early iPhone at the time and wish I would have taken a picture, screen shot. Years went by and the next time I couldn’t find it again. There has got to be other sources of underwater land height images of the Red Sea. Seriously… !

From the information I could find, this Bible is no longer in print. It's too bad, as this video piqued my interest. Anyway, I'm new to your channel and want to say great video!
There is a chart i looked up online, The most accurate bibles. I beleieve this 1 is under the thougnt for thought section.
@DiscipleDojo - you did a review on a bible that had almost a full page list of old testament prophecies on one page and a reference to almost a full page list of the ones that had been fulfilled in the new testament on the opposite page (located toward the end of bible after Revelation). However, I have gone through your reviews and I cannot find the review you did on that bible. Do you know which bible that it was ? I would like to watch your review of that bible again.
Everything that they produce that is good is always discontinued by the time anyone hears about it. Wish Holman would start back producing the original HCSB bibles because those are great translations.
Yeah, I'm not sure how marketing dropped the ball so hard on this one, honestly.
Any idea if the folks at Baker are working on an updated edition? I would love an actual copy as opposed to a kindle edition
I know they are aware of this video and considering it. Like with all publishing decisions it comes down to demand. So the best thing to do is contact them and let them know you'd like one.
Is it in Deuteronomy where Moses tells the people, "...God has multiplied your numbers by the thousands...". I always saw that as a limiter when seeing the order of the tribes striking out in the desert.
Would love a copy of this bible.
Can't find this anywhere. It lists amazon and Barnes and Noble, neither if which has an actual book. Just Kindle and ebook

Hey Disciple Dojo thanks so much for all your hard work on the study Bible reviews! I’m going to be buying a study Bible and wonder would this replace the Archaeological Study Bible by Zondervan you’re always ranting & raving about?
Not really. They are different in their focus. But if you can actually find a copy of this, it would make for a better all-around study Bible.
