    I love the old worn machines. I've noticed they usually work better than pristine ones. It kinda makes sense. They are worn because they are such a pleasure to sew on and wear their wear like a badge of honour for all the joy they have brought into the world of those they belonged to.

      I second your comments :) If the machines could talk, they would fill the world with their stories of creativity, ambition, hard work, and enthusiasm. Great sentiments. Thanks for watching!

    You sound like me and my wife - totally agree with your comments. I have a mixture of machines, but a love the whole sewing community - they're really lovely. Thanks for your interesting content too.

    I don't own a fancy new sewing machine but have several vintage ones plus a Husqevarna crank, 1913 treadle and a Featherweight. They all sew very well and are great for my quilting. I can't part with any of them, they just mean so much to me ! My quilting friends all have computerized machines but if that computer board quits its a massive and expensive problem, I know it happened to me. Now I'm very happy with the oldies lol. and yes those old machines could tell a lot of stories from their past !!

      Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you have a really great collection of your own. The best machines are the ones that you are unwilling to part with, regardless of the reason :) A lot of folks assume that we collect machines to sell them. Lol. We haven't ever sold a single machine. We have given away a few to good homes, but even those were hard to let go of :) Yes, the stories that they could tell... Thanks for watching and following along with us!

    In London there used to be a jeans store with a black metal rack as a roomdivider over two floors filled with black vintage sewing machines. It was filled with at least 50 machines. Looked great.

      Oh wow, that sounds amazing! I would love to see that. They look awesome no matter where you put them, but when there are that many, it must be overwhelming. Thanks for watching!

    You should get in touch with some of the guys that scrap for junk metal. I've seen so many sewing machines go in the metal junk yards. It just kills me to see that. I'm 78 and I sew. Love your collection. Thank you for sharing. God bless. 😊❤❤

    Your little doggy is the star of this episode! Looks so much like my Hanna Belle, who also likes to sleep in a bed under my sewing table. I also like to collect and tinker with vintage machines. I'm still not experienced with electronic components. Would love to see a series about capacitors - how to test them, where to find replacements, and how to replace them.

      Thank you so much! Ya, our little attack dog is always by our side. He keeps us safe (at least he thinks he does). That is great that you also like to tinker with old machines. ya, if I run across a machine with some electrical issues, I will be sure to post a video on it. Thanks for watching!

    Love my vintage seeing machines. I have a featherweight and 301A two older berninas I love sewing on them. I can't use them all but I love them all. Thanks for video and your love of these machines

      Thank you so much! We haven't come across any old Berninas yet, but they are definitely on our list :) Ya, I wish we could use all of our machines more often, but the more we acquire, the harder it is to get to each one. This is a good problem to have :) Thanks for watching!

    That heart rate thing happened first when I found garage sales. Your collecting is not really that extravagant. Think about the expensive of collecting vintage cars. You are finding your machines at really good prices. Ive purchased a couple on Ebay a/ alot more than youve paid.Your also giving sewing machine enthusiast a lot of joy with your content. I would love to find a vintage Pfaff like you have. Til next time , thanks for sharing!

    Good chat. I have a small collection as well. I love my machines. Wait till my family realizes how many I truly have. lol. Thanks. I am rebuilding a 201 now. Can't wait to get her running. I use my Featherweight for piecing. She does a dainty stitch. And I use my 15-91 for bag making. Gotta have them all. lol Never too many is right.

      Thank you so much! Lol. I am sure your family will understand. I am certain that the machines just multiply at night :) Featherweights are really fun to use. I can see why you would like to do your piecing on one. We have a Godzilla finish 66 that I use to make bags and it is great! Thanks for watching!

    I don’t collect vintage sewing machines but somewhere I’ve ended up with a small collection of them. I sew mostly in the late fall to early spring. Part of my “sewing season,” is maintaining my girls. My oldest is a 1917 Singer 66 and my newest is a 1966 all metal geared 628 with a couple Bernina 830’s thrown in for good measure. The vintage machines sew so well that I try like you do to use several of them for projects. As a disclaimer I do have a computerized plastic wonder I travel with but only because of its lightweight. I keep that one hidden from view😊

      @NeverTooMany2023  Před 9 měsíci

      Lol. It sounds like you have a "collection". Don't worry...I won't tell anyone :) As far as new vs old machines...I think that using a modern machine makes you realize how special the vintage ones are. It is definitely nice to sew on a modern machine from time to time. They are all awesome and you can never have too many! Thanks for watching!

    The issue I am having is finding bentwood or coffin cases for my machines and for sure a realistic price, I dont shop online too expensive.

    • @NeverTooMany2023
      @NeverTooMany2023  Před 9 měsíci

      For sure those are going to be pricey and hard to just come across without shopping online for them. I am sure you will get lucky soon and find what you are looking for :)

    Thanks for sharing your ideas about using all your sewing machines! I have a couple of vintage machines that I may sell…not sure, and one for sale at my vintage booth. I have sold a few and given away one to a family member in the last 5 or 6 years. Unfortunately, I just don’t have room for anymore with our home space and am involved in other activities (my fine art) and don’t have much time for them. But sewing machines, especially the old ones, are close to my heart. There’s just something about them. My mom didn’t really sew much, but she did have a Sears Kenmore that she purchased in the mid 60s, it was lavender color and pretty basic and weighed a ton (I can’t recall the model number right now.) She gave it away a long time ago. If I do come across that one, I may buy it and use in my sewing space for decor in memory of her. ❤ Thanks again. 😊👍

      Thank you so much for sharing! That would be a wonderful sentiment in memory of your mother. Sewing machines make, hold, and transfer memories like no other items. So Wonderful :) Good luck and I hope you find your machine. Thanks for watching!

    I just love you guys and all you share. I own a few myself featherweights, 301s, etc. Do you collect attachments as well? If so would love to see a video on that. Either way a big fan of your channel. Thanks again for sharing

      Thank you so much! That is awesome that you have Feathweights and 301s. We haven't gone out of our way to collect doo-dads, but we have accumulated a fair share of them along the way with what has come with our machines. That is a great idea to do a video covering all the doo-dads. Thanks for the tip and thank you for watching as well!
