  • Seva Mandira - Transforming the lives of the underprivileged.
    Seva Mandira is a concept and a rural service project envisioned by Swami Vivekananda in the form of - "Hut Temple of Sri Ramakrishna" - in his letter to Swami Shuddhanandaji dated 11th July 1897. This concept of Hut Temple is slightly modified and renamed as “Seva Mandira”.
    Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru has started ‘Seva Mandira’ at Tenkanamole in Chamarajanagar district and it is rendering much needed service to the village children and villagers for 6 years. After seeing the Tenkalamole project, ADP trust promoted by Sri Deepak Abbhi family and friends have decided to start a number of Seva Mandirs in the remote villages in and around Mysuru district.
    ADP Trust under the guidance Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru and along with the help of Ramakrishna Seva Sangha have identified 18 remote villages for the construction of Seva Mandira around Mysuru, Chamrajanagara and Mandya districts.
    The salient and unique features of Seva Mandira Project:
    1. It is a temple-based service project founded on the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna "Shiva Jnane Jiva Seva".
    2. It has two sub units 'Nara Narayana Seva Mandir' and ' Jnana Prasara Mandira' .
    3. It is by the villagers and for the villagers.
    4. The Seva Mandir is basically used to serve the Kannada medium school children of the village who come to the Seva Mandir before and after school for academic guidance, personality development and values education.
    5. The goal is to transform the children who are future citizens of the country and through children we try to transform the home of the villagers and through homes the entire village.
    6. Set up an integral holistic education for the total development of the personality with the Indian cultural ethos coupled with scientific values & leadership qualities for the students of the economically backward strata of the society.
    7. Training will be given in the essential knowledge & skills & Indian culture along with academic subjects for class 5th to 7th standard students.
