its like tat youtube viewer mostly prefer safari because they know the truth , offline buyers who is not an auto enthusiast tend to buy the alcazar
TATAs do have an amazing lineup of cars and I love how they have prioritized safety. I think if only their after-sales service and buying experience would be up to the mark, maybe the CZcams comments and sales figures might match as compared to Hyundai.
Oh, and don't forget the niggles that come absolutely "free of cost" with the Safaris and the Harriers. I root for them big time, but I end up recommending potential buyers of niggle free Marutis, Hyundais and Kias every time.

Saw many reviews about people complaining that hyundai doesn't treat its customers with respect... But yeah tata has to improve a lot in there of service centers

We really need a car with Tata's build quality, styling and with Hyundai's interior and overall plush cabin experience...
That comes at a cost , think of something like range rover class suv, here where safari is tough more safer and powerful and bigger in size and with real suv performance , while on the other hand the alcazar is just the adapted 3 row seater version of creta with added on techs and whistles simple as that and all of these cost money.
The point i am making is that its not what you really need , if you have money to afford its already there in the market .....
Its called the Compass.

360° camera is very useful, especially in India. Would have been amazing if the Safari featured it too!

Safari is way expensive. In Bangalore it touches 27 lac on road for fully loaded. And it missed a lot of good to have features in a premium SUV like Lane change camera, 360 Camera, a good infotainment system without lag, Ventilated sets, Sun blind, Darker interior option, Wireless charging and charging points for middle row passenger, Flat folding of third row Seats for proper boot space and all windows one touch power up and down. Tata should up their game. But it offers best in class engine and road presence and good ESPs mode and drive quality. 1.5 lt diesel engine of Alcazar doesnt justify this segment.. though its heavily loaded with features
Koreans have figured out their strat for Indian markets, pump the vehicle with features over the top and slap them with an introductory price. Honestly that safari platform is the best in the segment along with a auto box borrowed from a hyundai tuscon. These tech gizmos will become obsolete down the road but safari with its emphasis more on the actual driving part, will age beautifully
Everyone's opinion Safari but alcazar got 11k + bookings in a month
Tata should add some features like a hand free tailgate wireless charger and most importantly upholstery theme should be changed there should be a choice of at least one more theme like the Safari Adventure Persona upholstery has even reverse camera quality needs to be improved and yes like Nikhil said Tata should introduce a Dark edition of the Safar too 😉

I'd checked out Alcazar in my nearby dealership, on a positive note the build quality of the body shell is amazingly solid, the doors shut with a loud thud and the fit and finish of interiors is supreme, but the space management is unimpressive. The space for the 1st two rows is good but I've found the 3rd row space is a big downer compared to Safari's. If we move the 2nd row seat bit ahead to liberate some room for the 3rd row, the 2nd row passengers may bash their foot at the B Pillar while ingress and egress. Overall Safari has better space at 3rd row.

i would go for alcazar....has a practical boot 180 L...wher are 6 people going to put their luggage in the safari???..In india people go by the size of the vehicle..not the overall product..alcazar any day..
you should also include the innova crysta facelift in the next comparison to see if old is still gold. Loved the comparison!!

I don't think there is a fight here...for a person who genuinely wants an SUV that is good to drive, they might still opt for the Safari no matter what goodies the Hyundai offers. But the real battle will be when XUV700 comes in to kick some ass ..😆
In my personal opinion, the Tata Safari is a very comfortable, safe and a spacious large Crossover SUV.

Hyundai brand value will help it to sell more though most of us will appreciate Safari. Tata branding has to touch much higher scale and its after sales support has to add value to keep it going

I'm from Punjab and here peoples like big & butch SUVs.
Going by the trend & demand Tata Safari is the choice for any true SUV buyer. It will be great if Tata Motors comes up with a 4WD or AWD version.

Safari is the legendary car and when it meets with feel good features along with modern look definitely makes a more sense to buy .
The 2lakh price difference will play the spoilsport for safari considering the fact that alcazar gets more features

I would have wanted hector plus too in the comparison. Most importantly include the Innova Crysta and let's see where these 5+2 setup FWD cars stand. Not apple vs apple thing but it would give us clearer picture about our investments when the budget is around 20-25 lakhs.
Tata Safari is best value SUV perfect for family, comfort Ness, Design and luxurious interior and also best for off roading
The alcazar comes with very useful set of features like blind spot monitoring, better touchscreen,360 camera and most importantly sun sunshades in built......... Safari has been packed with features just to add to the list and not many of them will prove to be worthy

Alcazar feels more like a MPV than a SUV.
Hyundai has diesel supremecy, don't know why they are shying away from their 2l diesels. It can be given as option in alcazar, next gen tucson and elantra can also use them too

Down south, am a native of Kottayam, Kerala and work in Bengaluru, though not of tata person, in this case am sure a bunch of friends,relatives and colleagues will prefer the Safari even if it's less of tech....especially the safari's road presence and engine is a plus and cannot be ignored when compared to Alcazar or for that matter the Hector plus.

Todays company more focus at sitting arrangement rather than practicality which result always ignore luggage area.where 6 people will put their luggage? In the roof top! So that always feels insecurity during entire journey.
I guess the XUV 700 being the most awaited and tested, will definitely not be as much of a product as people are expecting, we expected a lot from tata and hyundai in these two SUVs too, and you do know they were definitely great but weren't hyped up after the release.

I would like to go for alcazar here as my condition is mostly city drive with 2+2kids max. Sometimes out of city with 5 + 2 kids. This way it is easy to drive in city and added advantege when needed. Let me know if anyone thinks otherwise and has any other best option for my scenario.
