I've had the 'Gen 2' Version for over 1.5 years. It literally will cut anything and as you, I've cut up to 3/4" with no issues. WELL beyond it's intended scope and the only thing you need are the cheap replacement tips. This machine is phenomenal... Best money spent and super fast at what it does.

Howdie from Canada 🇨🇦 SK just wondering Question how does it handle
@521farmer I don't understand your question so I'm not sure how to reply...can you elaborate on what ya mean when ya say "How does it handle?"
@@NBSWELDING Just like my Old One (L-------------n) it was Heavy in the Hand and Hard to keep Steady when Cutting thks again for replying bk so Soon Happy New Year to Ya
When you tried the one inch plate, I think you would have had better success if you increased the air pressure to the recommended maximum.
Quite a comprehensive review you did Sir.
Thanks for sharing and don't forget to do another review with more miles on it!
God Bless.

Thanks for the review! I've had the 65 amp version in my sights for quite a while now. One day I'm going to man up and ask the wife if I can buy it.
Right on!
You're making the point: As a professional you need the big toys, but for most of us, the cheaper stuff is what we need. This machine is rated for 14mm or 9/16". it handled the 1/2" easily but probably slower than the $3500 machine.. This little machine beat the specs by 3/16"! I don't see any fault in that. As I said earlier: For the regular DIY'er this is a hell of a Plasma!
best american welding channel for the agreeable, knowledgeable host and the wide variety of projects. some other channels with more subs are very crude and not that skilled. NBS is top notch and always informative.
Good to hear from you again...thanks for watching and commenting...keep me motivated to make the videos!
@@NBSWELDING you do good work IRL and on YT. thanks for your efforts.
That is actually amazing for such a small rig
Thank you for taking your time to review it
Cheers from Nova Scotia
I have a Hypertherm 45XP that I bought new in 2020 and I absolutely love it! However, the size and capability of this Best Arc unit are virtually identical to my Hypertherm. Now, to be fair, the Hypertherm has dedicated gouging consumables and a gouge setting on the control panel and it does it very well. Additionally, the Hypertherm automatically sets the air pressure for you but is a 240volt unit ONLY. On the other hand, the Hypertherm costs over 10 times as much and the consumables are very expensive. Nice review.
Its just amazing that for under 500$ you can cut through damn near 1" plate.
I agree
Ordered one this morning. I can see it works great. Just hope it will have a long service life. Thanks for the video.
Hope you enjoy it!
Man, that is pretty impressive for such a low budget plasma cutter. I appreciated you putting the cutter through its paces. I was really impressed with the 3/4" cut. I forge knives, and this cutter will be perfect for cutting out leaf springs and saw blades for knife stock. Thanks for your time and effort in this video, it was really informative.
Brilliant gentleman watching and learning thank you ♥️👁️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
another nice one, you always make top notch reviews 👍🏼
Well, I went ahead and ordered one today after watching your video. Thank you for taking the time to do that. You're obviously good at what you do. Because nobody else can get that machine to do 3/4 that I saw.
Don't forget to Subscribe to my channel and hit the notifications bell for more videos & reviews 😀
I received mine today from Amazon and it is a nice little rig.
Thanks for the excellent video. I have to check out more of your videos.
Thanks
got my one last week . so easy to use , beautifull cuts , on 10mm steel . cheap consumables on Temu .
Pretty impressive little machine! Thanks.
You certainly put it through the hoops. It looks a good machine!
Very nice review, putting that BestArc thru its paces. For a $250 unit, that is impressive! I really like my PrimeWeld Cut 60. It will definitely give a good quality cut on 1” steel. I appreciate your videos, especially the repair/fabrication work you do! Thanks for sharing them with us!
Killer review. Thank you. I just bought the gen 7 unit.
I got one of those a couple months ago and I love it! Consumables are super cheap too since they're universal.
!!!! Wow thks for sharing your ideas and understanding about this Plasma cutter makes it easy too See and understand how it can do as much as the Big Boys do and cheaper 🎉so ya got me sold the power bill is very good cutt thicker 220 basic110 for toy cutting so from Canada 🇨🇦 SK keep it up ya got this great review 😊
That's an impressive handy lil machine!😎👍👌🛠️🔧🔩📏🗜️📐✏️⛓️⚡👨🏻🏭⚠️🚧💪
If you set the BestArc to air and adjust the air you will see a drop in the pressure. To get 60 you will probably have to adjust to above that to get the 60 psi. Good review, I subbed.
I'm curious how the Arc Captain plasma would compare. Hopefully Arc Captain will send you a unit to test
Tighten that red ring on the air pressure regulator knob.
Excellent review! Liked and Subscribed!!
Thanks!!!
Thanks for the sub!
Most people will never cut very thick metal so i bought one
great review
Really beautiful cuts
I'm still amazed how tiny and light this thing is and still cuts like that
Nice review pal, really wishing i held out and bought 1 of these for my cnc.
Very impressive! Thank you very much for making this video, good job! I have same cutter. Very nice machine.
Just FYI. It will cut 1" but you have to have an 0.045 diameter tip on it to do it. It's pushing it but with a smaller tip it won't make it.
Thanks for the info
nice review
The gentleman explains everything thank you ♥️👁️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You are very welcome
Was thinking of starting a new business... NextBestArc ;) I have one of these and enjoy using it. One thing I wish was they had small tips. But might be able to find some that fit with a smaller tip(internal drill diameter). I did some testing with current on cable when set to 220/240 at 50A I was getting 45A. But all in all, I will keep using it as it works well for my level of use.
My guess is that 14mm is their "clean cut" spec, and you were testing what some of them spec as a max severance cut. I guess it's a nicer way of saying, "it can look like hell, but it made it through!"

👍👍
Very nice cuts. Great review. Can you show the inside on product reviews? Seeing the inside shows the electronics, assembly methods, design, etc.
Appreciate your interest...I won't likely take the time to take anything apart to show any of the inside...not that I'm not allowed to but I just won't likely take apart something unless there is an issue with it.
I'm just gonna cut metal with it.
I ordered the gen 7, 65 amp. I hope it works ok. I have two Prime Weld plasma cutters that didnt work out of the box.
Hope your Bestarc works good for ya
Thats a shame ya had trouble with those other two
It is a air hose. A very strong air hose. We used that type of hose on our machinery where I used to work.
Really different than what I normally use for air hose but I'll hang on to it
How many of yaw see that ArcCaptain Tig 200PDCAC sitting n the back ground, waiting for a review
Very observant....stay tuned!
I have a BOC 40 and it comes nowhere near that machine, That machine seems awesome,
I'm a complete novice, never operated a plasma cutter but find myself needing one to cut off a bunch of seized nuts and bolts (5/16 bolts with 1/2" heads). I don't have good access to the nuts but clear access to the heads. Is it possible to flush cut the heads off without seriously damaging the plate the bolts go through?
Looking to tap on your experience.
Great review! I will be buying one of these. Sure wish I knew what all the various 7 generations differences are.
It is very much possible to cut the heads off without damaging the rest...turn the power and air down and wash away only the bolt head...since you say your a novice then you should practice on some scrap and adjust the heat & air up and down on the machine until your confident you can control it...wear an auto darkening welding helmet set on the lowest possible weld setting...shade 7 is probably dark enough but you could go as dark as a shade 9 and still see just fine.
Good luck...once you get the hang of it you'll be glad you put some time into learning it and you'll have a new tool and skill that you can get things done with
@@NBSWELDING your input is so much appreciated! I do have an auto darkening helmet, light shade 3 and fixed shade 11. May be a bit too dark...I have enough trouble seeing with my wire feed welder. Seems I need at least a shade 5 to 6 for low amp plasma. I wonder if the light shade rating (3) of my helmet would be sufficient if I were to turn off the auto darkening. Maybe add a pair of sunglasses under the helmet.
Will certainly do a lot of practising beforehand. Again, thanks!
interesting
Excellent review! You mentioned that you prefer to not use the stand off guide. Does this have a negative effect on the life of the consumables? Thanks
Other people have said that it wears out the tips but I’ve not noticed that…seems to me that the tips last longer and the cuts are better when I drag it right across the material
That's great , Thanks! The stand off seems to be kind of awkward to use?
Great rewiew. Thanks for sharing. Just a question, if I may. What type of air dryer setup do you run? Appreciate all you do on your channel. All the best to you and yours 👍.
I have the small water traps on my compressor like body shops have for painting...got them so long ago I don't even know where I bought them...they are the type you can drain from the bottom.
@NBSWELDING Great, thanks for getting back to me so promptly. I will check with my local Body Shop Supply. Have an awesome day and all the best to you and yours👍.
From bits I've seen from CNC guys, the full air dryers make the tips last much, much longer. But obviously, not everyone can afford that setup.
@MichaelRoachWV Thanks for Ur imput. Always helps when the UTube community shares. Lots to learn, so little time. Calm seas and safe harbors to you and yours.
@@RaysLaughsAndLyrics that's the point! haha, I'm on a much smaller scale, but I've learned a lot through watching a bunch of different channels / fabricators
Should've done them both at 50a and 60psi
What kind of air dryer to you have on your air compressor?
Conversation on this in comments below...scroll down to where @rayslaughs&lyrics commrnted
Why does amazon specs for 7th gen show 35lbs when other cutters come it under 15 lbs? Is that real, 35lbs is a lot?
I'm sorry but I can't answer that...maybe email Bestarc with that question.
They only sent me this one machine to review so that's all I've done with them.
what size (cfm , etc) compressor?
Mine is 16CFM@90PSI....but it wouldn't have to be that big to run a plasma
Depends on how long of distances you want to cut non-stop
turquoise?
Plasma tips are cheap anyway. I put em right to the steel too and just clean em off like a mig tip running flux core.
Yep
your music is way to loud!
Working on it
I can't hear you half the time because of the music.
It doesn't come through like that on my devices...I've been told the music is much louder on some devices...dunno...I'm filming, editing, producing, and uploading videos with a phone. Then these videos from this little metal shop in West Virginia are watched by people all over the world and that is pretty amazing in itself
Wish you would lose that music.
Point taken
Thanks for watching and commenting
It is this plasma cutter plug and play? Straight to 240 volts ?
I'm not sure what "plug and play" means...it will run off of 240V or 120V as shown in the video with the adapters
