- The Ryobi 1 gallon Cordless Wet Dry Vac exceeded my expectations in every way. With the smaller battery powered vacuums, I never expect a very long run time or very much suction. The first time I used this Ryobi Shop Vac I was pleasantly surprised with how it performed. My initial impressions were great, but I hadn't actually checked the run time, water lift, or cfm for the suction power. In todays video I test all of that and also go over all the features of this little cordless vacuum to see if its a good fit for you... ENJOY!!!

Watching your videos is getting expensive for me! Recent purchases: Ego blower, Ryobi power washer, MJJC foam cannon (from you), Active short gun, Flexzilla hose, quick connects, and nozzles. Appreciate the all videos which helped me a lot.
Unrelated comment: You should make a spreadsheet with all of the results you have gotten from your pressure washer tests. That way we don't have to watch every single review when we are in the market for one. Just a thought.
Although this will be more efficient since he is taking the time to make these videos we as his audience can take the time to see his videos there is not many ppl that do this in detail so the appreciation is giving josh views
This would be so helpful
Lot of work for little reward, when, regular viewers can't even sub when it costs them NOTHING. Anyways just venting. Nonetheless Josh really is a great content creator.
For the Koch Chemie guys to be in a few videos with Josh, goes to show Josh's word is respected. (That's what I believe anyways) I need an Australian local to me "Josh" 😀
Why would he do that??? The point is to watch the full review in real time and "see" it for yourself. You won't get that from a spreadsheet. Not a good thought at all.
@@JLamont_3PM Ditto my dude.
Bought one 5 months ago. Run it off 4AH batteries. Works great last long enough for 2 vehicles for a normal cleaning. Light weight and no loud whining noise like some vacs. Empty after each use & use the blower function to clean its own filter out to keep new.
Thanks Josh hope you and your family have a great weekend!!!
I love that thing! I use it for my final vac at the end of the detail so I don't have to whip out my big vacuum again. Its awesome
Im a detailer here in san diego, i use the cordless 9 gallon ridgid nxt. Its pretty fantastic!
Great review Josh! Thanks!
I just bought one a couple weeks ago. Pretty impressive so far
I got the original one last year and use the heck out of it. The Rigid is still my go to, but the cordless has been beyond what expected. The true test was using it with the furminator on dog hair and it’s been great. Thanks for reviewing this new one.
I bought this unit a few months ago. Already had Ryobi batteries and chargers, so got just the vacuum. I mainly use it for the cars, but have also used it on the garage cleaning up around the work bench and in the house. Works great, great price, and just super handy.
Ran out and bought this. It is awesome. You really should be getting a commission from Ryobi.
I agree haha I wish
Great review, Josh!
Another great video Josh I love Ryobi but I also love the 20 volt system from Worxs they have a very good vacuum that you can strap on your shoulder
Hope you have a good holiday weekend Josh and can’t wait to see the spring/summer detail content flow. I appreciate you a lot got me and wife into detailing our personal cars and soon to be business owners detailing. Next I have to face the fear and get a dual action polisher.
Great video Josh. I have a small Worx battery-powered vacuum that costs right around $100 and I thought it was a decent unit. But this Ryobi vacuum does everything better than the Worx item does. Makes we wish I had waited...
Bought the 1gen w/d shop vac which was awesome but I’m gonna pick this up too
This is my second favorite Ryobi after my air gun
I bought this exact unit-great for quick clean ups in my vehicle between my regular cleanings.
Great to hear!
Adding another ryobi to my wish list
Hey Josh! Thanks for the review. Value your opinion as always! Have you ever taken a look at the Harbor Freight/ Bauer 3.5 gallon cordless wet/dry Vac? I picked one up cheap over the holidays and it seems decent but wonder how it compares to this one. 👍 Thanks again for all your content!! 😉👌
Great review! Thx.
Will grab tool only one since I already have 18v ryobi batteries.
Great video. Now I have to have it! Also... nice tease with the Ryobi Speed Bench. I can't wait until they release it so I can get it too. P.S. I pronounce Ryobi the same. Never thought of pronouncing it "ree-oh-be"
Had one of these a while for my occasional mobile jobs only cause I already had so many Ryobi batteries, need to sell my corded extractor and get the Ryobi one as well
I’ve had their wet dry 1 gallon vac for several years this must be a re-tooling of an existing version so that they can make it work with their latch system, the one I have is more rectangular and shorter to the ground whereas the one you’re using now is square and over twice as tall. I love it I use it to detail my personal vehicles but even with a four amp battery if you plan on running very long it’s a good idea to have more than one battery because it does seem to eat it really fast lol but otherwise I’ve been very happy with it I’m sure this one’s same specs they just did a redesign.
i might get this, with 2 battery to run my no generator mobile detailing ... cant be relying on customer power all the time...... thanks for the reviews
You should do a review on superior products, Dark Fury to be exact !!!
Pair this with the Bauer new hose kit and you got a home run for quick cleans.
Josh, how😊 about trying it as a wet vac and let us know what you think.
Can you test out the milwaukee M18 Fuel Packout 18-Volt Cordless 2.5 Gal Vacuum?
Will the Rigid car cleaning kit hose and attachments fit this unit?
Is the hose long eough to comfatbly use it on a car, do you need to put the vacuum on the seat or can you keep it outside on the ground.
Josh love your vids man! Can I have your opinion on clay towels ?
Hi! I personally use a clay mitt or sponge but it’s just a preference. Just keep the surface lubricated properly!!
Have you seen the 7 in 1 hand held steamer by Dirt Devil? Is it usable for car detailing?
Not related to this video but how do you clean dried cement off of the undercarriage, running boards and fenders? Construction company was rinsing concrete into oncoming traffic. I got most of it off but there are stains under the running boards and in the removable fenders (Bronco). Driving me crazy! Any advice would be appreciated
Hi, I'm looking at a similar 3gal vacuum from Greenworks. In your opinion, is 40 inches of water lift enough for car detailing and/or extraction? It's close to the Ryobi in this video. Also, thanks for the years of great content! Extremely helpful.
I'm avoiding a generator (for now). Currently I have a 40V battery bucket pressure washer from them (which I love) so it makes sense to also opt for the 40V portable vacuum.
Is there an inexpensive way to mount this on the wall without having to invest in the expense link mounting system?
Reeee-obi ❤
Home Depot had them for $50 at Christmas.
👍
Remove the filter when doing the water lift test cause if you are sucking up water you wont have the filter on there.
Your tracks on your garage floor do you ever have to take them up?
You know how long the battery lasts in my corded shop vac? This might be a nice little unit, but if it doesn't fill a need or have a purpose in a detailing setup, why bother recommending it? This seems to be more targeted at home owners or apartment owners who have limited room and want to double duty the unit as their shop and home vac.
Just FYI Home Depot has the Ryobi Compact Blower on the site with a charger and 4Ah battery for $149. Normally they only have to tool for $99.
As soon as I saw Ryobi…well as Mark Cuban says “for that reason I’m out”
You will have to dump out this unit a number of times after wet vacuuming a dirty car. 1 gallon is not a lot volume.
Pretty sure that was explained 😂😂
@adg4eternal
Actually it wasn't. For people who haven't used a smaller unit like this will soon find out, lol!😅
