The Polaris Sportsman 570 Utility Quad is an awesome piece of equipment for moving snow around our property. I never realized how much snow this Polaris Sportsman can push. In fact, if I get less than 4 inches of snow I'll routinely use this Polaris quad to clear the driveway, especially if it isn't too cold. Please leave any questions or comments below. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Jules! It’s been a pretty mild winter…Cathy and I were gone for 3 weeks down in Florida, so I can’t complain too much ;-) Now I need to catch up on some chores!! Stay safe, Ed

So with our Polaris sportsman we find that pushing snow with our blade our tires are spinning a lot, and Im having to get off and help it along physically when I reverse.. maybe I need chains and extra weight over the rear axle? I have an asphalt driveway and my blade isnt lowered with the front edge directly on the asphalt so Im still riding on an inch of snow.

Hi Sandra, hmmm…I’ve never experienced that with our Polaris. Is the winch releasing the blade all the way down? You shouldn’t need any weights, my Sportsman scraps the asphalt really well without any weights or chains. You can see how well it scraps the asphalt. I only need to jump off the quad to adjust the blade angle. I think it may be a winch issue.

What type of cutting edge do you use on your plows?

On my big plow, I use a yard guard pretty much all year, as it protects my driveway surface…there are some drawbacks, like leaving a trace of snow which then turns to ice until the next sunny day.
I use the standard cutting edge that came with my Polaris 570 plow kit. I do raise the shoes to get the same driveway protection. I hope this helps!

@@UpNorthNybergsnice. I was wondering how you kept your driveway protected. I'll check it out. I was considering plastic or rubber

@@UpNorthNybergsyou don't see any asphalt damage with the yardsaver? That would definitely last much longer then rubber or plastic.

@@simd510 no big damage, mainly just scraping of the asphalt seal. I get this resealed every 4-5 years. I love the yard guard!
