In 1979 Lancia unveiled the all-new Delta. It was the brand's first truly compact hatchback. The model did not have a real predecessor, although you could call the Beta a kind of predecessor. The design came from the Italian designer Giugiaro, while the technique was largely taken over from the Fiat Ritmo proposed in 1978. However, the car got a different rear suspension. The engines were also adjusted and delivered more power than in the Ritmo. The Delta quickly became a success for the brand and not only in its home country Italy.
The sporty version of the first generation Lancia Delta (the Lancia Delta (Group A)) was successfully entered in the World Rally Championship. Lancia took six consecutive constructors' titles (1987 to 1992) and three drivers (1988, 1989 and 1991).
For the public road there was, among other things, the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione. It was equipped with four-wheel drive and a 2.0 four-cylinder turbo engine with 210 hp. Later there was an Evoluzione II, it had a total of 215 hp. Most people know the Delta mainly from this version. It was actually a road rally car. Production finally came to an end in 1993 to make way for the second generation Delta.

This Lancia was purchased by the current owner in 2016. (A pure car enthusiast.)
The body of the car has been significantly improved in some areas, technically fully restored by the Dutch specialist in Lancia Deltas. In 2018 there is more than Eur. 8,500 spent on the technical restoration, invoice available.
The car has blue Alcantara upholstery, doors, seats and headliner. The car was bought in Turin and was owned for 5 years. The interior color scheme is typically Italian.
The engine type is just right for this car. A great driver's car ready for wonderful moments. "La dolce Vita"
