- Filmed on April 16, 2016: One of my favorite elevators inside the Galleria Mall in Houston, TX.! :D Although it was modded, but it was done decently. Glad they didn’t go with Innovation, Adams, or a vandal resistant of some kind. Everything is all original; only replaced the fixtures, call buttons, and the controls. Listen to the amazing motor sound while the elevator is in motion. Installed in 1969, modernized in either 2007 or 2008.

The bell sounds beautiful
The panel on the right was not a phone box but another set of buttons. And these were definitely old Lexan. They were the same fixtures as the old Dillard’s Rivercenter. The building opened in 1969. To this day I get in these and always go to push a button on the missing panel. Something else is missing on Garden Level. There used to be old vertical floor indicators for each car in the center above the call buttons.
Oh, I didn’t know that. It’s hard for me to remember all that stuff!
JimLiElevators I had to look up the buildings opening year. They were modernized late enough in my lifetime that I remember riding these all the time. They were 1 of my favorites at the Galleria actually they still are. But I miss all the touch sensitive buttons the Galleria used to have.
