  • In this video I try out the new Rust-Oleum 5-in-1 spray paint nozzle and the results are amazing. I put this can through the test to see how it performs. I show how the nozzle works, what kinda of fan pattern it has and how much fluid it uses in the different modes. Hope you enjoy this video and get some value from it. Im currently using it for a guitar im refinishing. Specifically the gloss clear enamel. The low output wnd horizontal settings are workint just great. Give the clear enamels on those two settings a try before you give up on em, you might also have good luck with them.

I happened across that multi-nozzle version a couple of weeks ago and because it was the only one my local hardware shop had, I bought it because I wanted a good satin black. Painting a firewall after sanding some surface rust - and a wee bit that looked a touch scaly but actually wasn't hurting the metal underneath - off, I treated the rust and then hit it with the Rustoleum product.
Started with #2 because it says it was "standard", but I got a case of the runs....and figured if my inspection guy didn't like a touch of surface rust (he had told me that they wouldn't pass the car until it was fixed - talk about picky rules in this country) he would probably complain about the paint job too, so I cleaned it off and started again with #3. Much better. I was able to regulate exactly how much went onto the areas I was painting and dust in close to the master cylinder and brake pipes while only getting a few spots on them instead of an actual "coat" like happens with a normal rattle can if the nozzle isn't exactly pointing where you think it is. Getting the paint into a couple of crevasses was easier with #3 too because I could adjust my aim a bit before causing a run on the firewall next to where I wanted the paint to go.
Personally, I thought it was a gimmick that would turn out to be a pain in the rear, but I was quite impressed with the result. I too would use #4 quite a bit on projects, but #3 was great for little stop / start areas and putting a lighter coat on. The proof in the pudding will be when I go to use the can again and the nozzles are all clear, because if not, I wouldn't be recommending it. (Yes, I did wipe them off, but I won't see if the spray pattern is still the same until I use it next and any residual paint will have dried inside the nozzles)
Wish I could help with the blue you are looking for. It looks similar to a British Leyland colour called French Blue, which I am going to have made up for me and put into a spray can so I can touch up my Triumph Stag's paintwork in some areas. One place I know of over here will scan your paint and mix up a can (quart / gallon or spray) of the colour for you. I'm picking if little old New Zealand has them, then you'd have them in the States, so maybe taking the fender for a drive to see a bloke in one of those shops would solve the issue for you. Yeah - it might be a bit more coin to shell out for the service, but as a last resort (as it is for me and my car's 50-year-old colour scheme) it's not a bad solution to get exactly what you want.
Really enjoying your current series on spray bombs and what you can do with the product. All the best!

I’ve had good luck matching that blue with the dupli color engine enamel. There is a few different shades of blue to choose from. I think the Chrysler blue is real close.

personally have disliked the newer cans since they had the multi angle that allowed you to spray the cans upsides down because now you have to remove the nozzle and soak them to keep them clog free. you use to be able to flip them and spray aerosol out and that would clean the nozzle before storage.

I was thinking how nice it must be to pay $8.00 , I have not seen the 5 spray tip for price but the standard can is right around $13.00 -$14.00 🇨🇦 for the brand name sprays.

Gonna try these out. I heard the 5 in 1 cap fits on the cheaper non 5 in 1 cans. So you could save money by buying one 5 in 1 can and just reusing the cap.

After you first use their paints and it sits for a few months, or a year, it seems to lose its compression. I've lost many spray cans and try to buy Krylon instead.
