    Hey All! TY very much for watching 🙏 I just wanted to update that the reason my 12900K SLI setup didn't work is very likely (almost 100%) due to the Maximus Z690 Hero Motherboard not having an SLI Key -- apparently only a couple ASUS Z690 boards like the Extreme and Apex have SLI support. This is a big change from prior generations going back 10+ years where pretty much all "Z" chipset Intel motherboards had SLI/Crossfire support. Many thanks to those who commented with that info -- DEJ915 and Beyond4k here on CZcams and @Purgatory_Nabil on Twitter, as well as others I might have missed.

      Now that's shitty. But somewhat comprehensible, since SLI is on vital support... only 2 GPU's and only working on 3Dmark AFAIK.
      I'm betting that the 40 series cards will mark the end of SLI all together. As an enthusiast this is sad, but we gotta understand how impractical it was since its inception in 2006😂😂

    In other news, GPU vendor Nvidia has unexpectedly purchased three air conditioner manufacturers. White nosed Wallstreet analysts are saying that they believe Nvidia is playing both seasons of the home climate control market. While annoyed gamers in Florida are making the argument that modern GPUs have made gaming rooms more uncomfortable than ever during the summer. We were able to reach an unnamed but also unconfirmed employee at Nvidia R&D who says that Nvidia will be offering free home installation of a second air conditioner for buyers of the RTX 4000 series.
    There are also rumors of an Nvidia/Enron partnership which will enable users to utilize GPU waste heat for the production of electricity to run the Nvidia air conditioner. The before mentioned powdered analysts predict this heat capture could also power blockchain innovators. "This is the biggest synergy and paradigm shift of the decade, this will make decentralized power the new normal, allowing us to circle back and pivot to unprecedented and diverse energy solutions." The US Department of Energy has already given Nvidia $6,000,000,000 of free cash because Nvidia is a very poor company that can't afford to invest in its own ventures. Luckily Nvidia won't have to repay this cash if they fail, or if Jensen Huang decides one day, "nah, I don't feel like doing this."

      For years shill reviewers attacked radeon cards even sparking memes about power use and poor drivers. Even Toms Hardware reviewed an r9 390 (a poor twin fan SKU version they used BTW) and gave it a devastatingly bad write up saying it was hot, thirsty and loud. (They did not tweak it at all, which most buyers would even to find a slightly lower sweet spot)
      The impression given was this was the case for the gpu chip in general.
      Yet all these years later the 390's still perform enough to be useable in 1080p gaming.
      (The nvidia 7 series competition does not)
      Jenson; 'It just works' ( ignoring space invader R.E.M.'s) and
      'The more you buy the more you save' !
      Gordon Ung talking mid price gaming build options and I quote;
      "Vega 56? (shakes head and feigns disgust, barely resists holding his nose;)
      Noo, FAR Too Thirsty! "
      Yet a vega 56 can be undervolt tweaked fine for a 550 watt bronze psu and perform better than stock.
      Let us ignore tweaking and go with stock settings, even now some sites show bias;
      www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
      The 3060 TI (best bangs / $ 30 series card) is listed as requiring a '575 watt' psu (do you know anybody who makes one?)
      Are there any '575 watt' power supply requirements on the other side of that chart??
      Is stepping down to 25 watt increments not acceptable for Radeon cards?
      Considering nvidia have been talking about upping psu quality for 30 series to gold (effectively a 5-8% psu size requirement reduction) I would say something fishy is still well afoot.
      When I look back at all the memes spewed forth about GPU power use yet now Nvidia says you need to upgrade a perfectly decent bronze 650 unit like a 2019 cx 650 to run a 3080 (an rx 6800 it would fine)
      I have to call B/S.
      I recently bought a half price retail outlet bargain XPG 650 core reactor gold, 10 year warranty (full warranty, NIB, bad marketing good quality unit)-
      but if Jensen thinks I will be buying a gpu card that wont run on that psu like the 3080 he is off his fxkc1ng CHOPS!
      Jensen went to Samsung, cheaped out on the node and now expects me to pay through the nose for a bigger gold psu to make up for it? I should fxkc1ng coco;
      He can k1ss my hairy 4rse!

      @@Modelo646 It's prone to having weird rendering and performance issues. This was back in the day but SLI seemed to also introduce stuttering in some games.
      The big one was frame time pacing and timing. Often times frames times were like 30ms, 5ms, 30ms, 5ms....so yeah you double your frame rate if you count frames but every other frame ends up essentially being a copy of the previous one and you're still waiting 30ms for the ones that matter.

      They've been working on it for years (Ryzen 3000 would have had it if it was ready. AMD has confirmed those chips have the microbumps needed to connect the cache to the CPU, just like all Ryzen 5000 chips do), but up until this point, it was too fragile/expensive/uncooperative/whatever to work.
      They finally got it working enough for use in consumer products, but it's _still_ not perfected, as you can see from the fact that AMD doesn't allow you to overclock the CPU to protect the extra cache, but has promised this is the only V-cache Ryzen you won't be able to overclock.

    When you get the 12900k setup running on the EVGA board, try enabling GPU Multi-Monitor in the bios and install uhd drivers to give you a little boost in your score. Thank Greg Salazar for the sweet tip. I just watched his NZXT Creator video after this and saw him talk about it. I'm pretty sure it could definitely help you bump those numbers up.
