Like you said, games being lost forever may not be the largest issue in the world today, but it does affect people. It affects a part of history. Things that bring people innocent joy do matter, because joy is one of the things we need in this life.
The Crew was the first game released by Ivory Tower and paved the way for the rest of the studio up to today. It's tragic to see their work and history be discarded. With the current trends in the industry, it likely won't be the last.
As a buyer of The Crew, I decided not to purchase any Ubisoft games. It's criminal that Ubisoft shuts down The Crew 1. Also, when I posted a comment criticizing Namco on a Tekken video, the Tekken fandom harassed me. Namco deleted Old Tales from PSN. Even though Inomata sadly passed away. It's sad that there are people who are against Media Preservation.
There’s this game I used to play called ZombieSmash! (Spelled exactly like that) it was a tower defense game where you could use your finger to swipe away zombies. It was one of the most quality mobile games at the time and stopped receiving updates for some reason and was no longer supported by around iOS 3. It was Apple only. It got a spinoff after the success of the original which was basically a fruit ninja clone, this game was also shut down. Do you think there is any way of recovering these games?
This was a very interesting video - I searched up the survey to see if I could sign it, but it says I can't until the new survey committee is made so that's unfortunate. On the topic of lost media, I like to edit on wikis and am sometimes interested in their subject's lost media. One of my fellow wiki-ers messaged me saying that he's trying to access content on Britain's Got Talent which he says you have access to. He asked if you can collect lost media from S5 (main show - if there is any footage for that there) and S6 - S9 More Talent & More Talent S10 Episodes 4 & 5 from the Box of Broadcasts. He also asked if you could collect this data on a Dailymotion profile or a OneDrive folder and send it in the replies if that's possible. If you have any requests or questions feel free to ask :D
@Pickledlion41 I can certainly have a look, although unless I can find a method to directly rip content from the site rather than capturing it in real time it will always be a slow and tedious process with less than ideal results quality-wise. I have seen a couple of people on Reddit say there is a method but I've not been able to contact them. If we could figure that out we'd be in business.
@@AubreyHolmes He said "as long as it’s still viewable it’s fine", but if you could find a way to get them high-quality that would be ideal. Thank you for responding so quickly by the way :)
