I'm not dead.
One last thing I could've mentioned in the trivia section is that in the trailer footage at 39:25 you can see the Elf Apartments in the inventory but they have no Elf character showing with them, and I have no idea what that's about.
Thank god, by the way (I don't expect anything) have there been any updates on the pg tips flash games?
@HarryTheLoser Unfortunately all I've found since the last video is another photo, this time showing the inside of the fridge from what I think was an ad agency website originally static.wikia.nocookie.net/lostmedia/images/7/70/ERN_-1.png/revision/latest?cb=20240607012214
you managed to bring back Spongebob Moves in I can't believe that I love you, can you fix the game Monopoly Hotel for Android and iOS, too? because the servers for that game have shut down, I think it can be played offline.
PS: Monopoly Hotel is not a board game I know that when you search it on Google it shows a board game but it is also a mobile game
Can you remake SpongeBob Diner Dash?
@@SillyTheReallyCoolGuy AGREE!!!! i miss spongebob diner dash
I’m glad I ain’t the only one who thinks “JASON” whenever I see a .json file
I always call them JASON too
.json derulo
I have a .json with Jason vorhes in it
Wait a second, does that mean i am not the only one too?
I call it JaSON too.
I love it when people do this! Saying "screw you big companies, I'm going to keep playing your game!" and playing a dead game is one of my favorite thing to do. I am still trying to revive the _Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles_ game, which I haven't been able to do yet because I need the cache data.
@@jakedoesyoutube I actually have it on my tablet from YEARS back, it still works
@@crownefarious8436is there any chance you would be able to put the cache data on internet archive by hacking your device
@@crownefarious8436 can you make the cache data public somewhere? I am so close to getting the game working.
I still wanna play that Star Wars: Commander game again. It was like Star Wars Clash of Clans.
I really wish I could play Rayman adventures again ☹️
All of the savedata being in a .json is. Fucking insane
@@everybodylmao I believe even plants vs zombies 2 does this.
And that's how I didn't spend a single cent lmao
@@acactusnamedjosh708 same lol. It's nice having all the unavailable or money plants
absolute lunatic behavior
average mobile game lol
@@acactusnamedjosh708 They atleast made a bit of effort so you have to use a converter, but basically yes.
ah yes back when facebook had 100s of sims type games for everything like cars and dragons and the simpsons and i guess spongeboi
i remember the simpsons one lol
@@Jethcon ah yes Tapped out, i also played a Family Guy one called The Quest For Stuff
there was also a toy story one on the console if I remember correctly lol
Y'all remember Empires and Allies?
Still pissed that I never got to play Pocket God Facebook as a kid, and now it's pretty much lost media that doesn't have a search demand
I WANT TO PLAY POCKET GOD FACEBOOK SO BADLY
My mom and I used to be obsessed with this game. I actually still have it on my iPad, it still works and I have Gary unlocked. He, along with every other character, wants these birthday cake items from the birthday blowout event… which are literally impossible to make now, lol. My mom says it still works on her phone, but some of the graphics, (such as most of the buildings.) are corrupted and show up as a weird garbled mess of graphics.
This was a fantastic video, really hoping it gets more traction, great work man.
nice, it just broke for me. it said “needs to update” when I was updating the app it just stopped
@@DaNoob1485 dude! You should really try to get the files off your device, maybe then we can get a complete game! And I wish you luck if you do try!
i still have the game from my purchased apps but besides the graphics being corrupted it still works
Try to get the files from there!@@GummyBoi
get the files off the device for us!!!!!!!!!
"Your not getting the game." "But I want the game I want SpongeBob"
A few quotes from a certain video referencing this game that caused someone to end up on the news!
I think the fact that you explicitly remember so much about small details and exact operations of the game making this entire video possible is pretty damn wild lol
Him uploading everything to the internet archive so nobody has to go through all this again is such a boss move that rarely happens, thank you for this
I used to love playing this game as a kid, but MAN, was it so broken and unpolished. This game really deserved more love and support.
I remember this game! I feel sorry that the algorithm didn't work on you, this deserves way more views!
edit: woah the view count has accelerated!
dude its been 2 days
I just found this in my recommended so algoritm is doing something right
@@KyogresHideout_Vegito2121 same here
you have to wait for people to actually find the video XD

one of the best 40 minutes i've wasted watching content about a game i've never played in my life. Presentation is really nice
Got very engrossed in this video only to find out it had 700 views. Definitely deserves more
You'll be happy to know that in a mere 22 hours, it now has 26k views!
And the next day, the views doubled!
Here's to them quadrupling tomorrow!
Now it has 69k. Nice
93k now
100k+ views.
The virgin SpongeBob: Adventures In A Jam.
The Chad SpongeBob Moves In
if only you could still play moves in
What about the card game one? The card game one was and still is pretty cool.
@jrperry1611 that one is still available but costs money. And I bought it
3 words about AIAJ: ENERGY IS NONEXISTENT.
@@jrperry1611 I’ve tried it and the mobile version is a hot mess. On a certain mission. You are physically unable to progress, I think it’s the sandy mini game were you have to throw stuff at the tickler or whatever, but he just ducks under everything and you can’t win. It’s not just a me thing either, I’ve seen the reviews and people are stating the same issue. I think the pc version is functional though, I’m just pissed I wasted money on a game that is impossible to beat.
Honestly one of my favourite genres of videos is "Some guy talks about his very specific desire to play some old incredibly obscure game and so he spends ages trying everything as he gives a bit by bit rundown of everything he did until it finally worked" so I very much enjoyed this
Ok?
I still remember watching the ads for this game that’d air inbetween commercial breaks, it really was just a kid friendly version of Simpsons Tapped Out! with maybe a little bit of The Quest for Stuff from Family Guy
I read this whole comment in a lapis voice in my mind because of your profile lol
Good video man i like when you reanimated spongebobs corpse
i played simpsons tapped out a long time ago and then stopped for a few years and then i tried logging on again and my entire city was gone...
Ohhhh that sucks! I should download it and see if mine still exists. I play once a year get bored uninstall and repeat lol.
same. i used to have friends that paid to get everything.
same i had an event building and i was gutted
same and i payed for a special character as well on that game
My town is still there, after I started the game after around 10 years. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said to my Family Guy town. My tapped out game save was connected to EA's cloud system, unlike the Family Guy one.
I'm glad to see someone not only take the time to talk about this quirky little bit of Spongebob history (one myself I enjoyed when it existed), but also fully archive it as best they can for people to still play and get a close look into at least some of the inner workings of the app.
Amazing video, absolutely criminal this hasn't even broken 10k views yes. Hope that changes!
It's at 16k views now so it seems like the algorithm really stepped up its game
35k views now
As someone who participated in the Fry Cook Games event, I believe the Colosseum was either directly given at some point (like a community prize or smth) or just plopped right in the land expansion with the Health Store at the beginning. I don't remember being able to move or store it, though.
Fun fact: this game was in "sml short: jeffy's tantrum" (the video that made a kid tie a noose around his neck)
Was just kinda expecting a retrospective on the game (i played it a ton growing up) but honestly this was really engaging and fun, nice work, hopefully this video pops off.
I mean he’s got to find a way to simplify it to a downloadable, I’d kill to play the game again…
wait i remember watching ads of this game on tv so many times as a kid
That's funny, what country are you from if you don't mind me asking because I only remember seeing it advertised like twice, I'm wondering if they pushed it more in different places. Not that it matters at all but really I suppose none of this does.
@@AubreyHolmes im from the u.s.,,
Interesting. I guess they just promoted it a lot more over there than they did in the UK. 🤷♂️
I'm from Jamaica but had US cable. I vividly remember seeing commercials for this game and begging my mom to buy it but she wouldn't let me @@AubreyHolmes
im also from the us and i remember seeing ads on tv for it a lot
Games based on licensed IPs should allow offline play even if servers shut down and reinstall from the app library if delisted from digital storefronts. I have a few games that I can still download and play that were delisted (Ski Safari: Adventure Time), but this is probably the first time a game that you would have to pay, be almost remotely useless or broken (mobile game-wise).
I have so much nostalgia for this game, I died of nostalgia when I saw the opening cutscene. My little child heart was destroyed after I saw that it was closing down. I remember exactly where I was when it happened (I was in the car having my tablet out near a motel)
I didn’t even realize the game shut down! I remember seeing so many ads for it when watching Spongebob. This was definitely a trip down memory lane.
If this never happened, it would've became forever lost media, but thanks to you, we will remember this game. 😊
I played this on an old Amazon fire tablet so much years ago as a child! This video gave me nostalgia, and it brought back so much memories!
It’s a good thing I still have SpongeBob moves in. I’ll make gameplay videos of it soon.
I had forgotten about this game's existing but the moment I saw the title I knew exactly what it was, very fascinating video! The fact this only have 1k views is a crime, the video is very well put together and interesting. Had no idea the game received official support for nearly 10 years...
There’s a SpongeBob game in the mid 2010s that i lost, it’s a game where you played as sponge bob serving kraby patty and you need to click on the costumer to serve them than SpongeBob would walk to serve them, than they would leave dirty plates on the tables than we have to click it than SpongeBob would walk there and pick it (I remember you could stack it too not sure though).
I think you're talking about Spongebob Dinner Dash.
21:35 this is true up to a point. while the sonic racer decomp video by mattkc goes into more detail about unity decomps, the gist of it is that unity added a feature to the engine in version 5 called il2cpp (intermediate language to cpp). this basically turns the jit bytecode into true machine code by doing exactly what it says on the tin - converting it to c++ before compiling.
this makes reverse engineering a lot harder, but could theoretically decrease file size and improve performance since it's running native code, not a just in time compiler

I remember this game, glad this came into my recommended, I’m liking it :) subbing
I remember I stopped playing this game as a child only because it randomly reset my progress. Good times
I used to be obsessed with this game.....
So thanks for covering it! :D
I remember this was the first phone game I bought and I begged so much to get it (we were poor 💀) only for the game to take FOREVER to launch. thank you for reviving these memories.
I never knew the game left the app store, but I totally remember it, along with Smurfs Village and the Ice Age game.
The sounds of this game's commercial still rings in my ears...
This is awesome! There are many games that have been removed that I wished I could get back up working. This scratches the itch a little, and I'm just impressive you got it working. Great stuff!
Was not expecting such a thorough video. Good job.
god this feels like i time traveled. i used to play spongebob moves in to death as a kid on my dad's phone, glad to see im not the only one who remembered it (and also not the only one who felt defeated when it did eventually close down). insanely good video! love the editing and pacing, and the general info as well is just as entertaining
this game was a core memory for me. i remember playing it, god, ten years ago? it was on a hand-me-down phone and i remember having fun with it until one day, i got my first "real" smartphone, (i.e. with cellular service) and i forgot it existed. to hear that it's just gone was a little upsetting, glad to see what you've done here.
Thank you so much for doing this! I used to love this game. ❤️😎
Commenting to help the video do better in the algorithm - this deserves a million views. Absolutely goated video.
I remember having this game. Unfortunately i didn’t go too far into it before it closed. Because i first had it in…2020? I don’t remember. But i didn’t know it was THAT old.
I remember getting ads of this game on TV! I never downloaded it as I never had my own phone myself but it's nostalgic seeing that AD
Dude, i thank you for doing the lords work. I remember playing this as a kid and being disappointed to see it gone. This just made my day much better.
Reminds me a lot of my personal experiences messing with ios file directories of my favorite games back in the day. Your archival efforts don't go unnoticed! Thank you!
I remember when it closed, how sad. At least Spongebob Adventures in a Jam, while being worse, kind of fill it's place in my heart
Thanks for sharing! It came out around same time as Simpsons mobile tap game with similar play structure. And I think ultimately they all came as a result of games like Age of Empires and FarmVille. lol
Great video man! I enjoyed this a lot, I liked the peep show edits. What a great show fr
Man, this really brings me back, very entertaining video!
bro unlocked a memory i forgot i had
Thank you so much for jogging my memory about playing this game! I remember playing this game because I couldn't find my favorite Town Builder game anymore!
Speaking of which, this game having a fully offline mode remind me of my favorite Town Builder game that had an official conversion by the company who made it to be entirely offline and playable without internet. This basically means that you can download the app and still be able to play it to this day, just with all the social features ripped out. I don't remember when the game still had service if there was an option to switch the servers off or not put in general , as for the general video it was so cool to see you go in depth on all this tech stuff, it was really cool that you still got the game working all these years later! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and thank the Developers for not hiding their code super discreetly and slapping it into an easily accessible json.
Oh my god I remember this game!! I played it a ton as a kid!! I’m so glad you revived it!!
Bro you are super underrated, thank you for this amazing 40 minutes of my time.
The Spongebob: Tapped Out
i was so pissed when they took this offline. all my years of grinding patties at the krab. gone. i had all of the main characters. they're gone too. i put so many hours into this game just to have it ripped away from me. on judgment day, when god convenes with his clergy of sinners, saints, angels, and demons, viacom shall pay for condemning me to this shakespearean tragedy.
This is some good work dude I'm loving the editing and jokes.
I just watched that Minecraft Apple TV video! Trollstore is the best! Great video subbed :D
I honestly didn’t pay attention to the first part of the video bc I thought it was a real ad and I had to go back and rewatch it once I realized
This used to be one of my favorite games! I cant believe I forgot about it. This was really a blast from the past.
Seeing Bearman just randomly get mentioned after just discovering his channel and this channel is insane
Absolute legend! I remember this game i always used to play it, though i never got far, but it was just completely erased from my memory, love the video and all the work mate, you deserve way more views! Subbed!
There is NO WAY this video only has 3 thousand views, this video was genuinely so entertaining
This is sad. I thought it was still running
absolutely banger video, thankyou so much for putting this together
Your editing style scratches my brain so nice
Mine too. I love the whole "Jason!" thing
Finding in this video that David Mitchell was in one of those "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" commercials as a PC just makes me wanna buy a PC over a Mac. DM is a treasure.
Jeffy finally is going to not ask for his dad’s credit card when he sees this.
@@BKBLUEY it was only $2.99 why couldn't Mario just buy the game smh

Oh! wasn't that the episode where he turned emo? It's been awhile since I've seen it lol
I played the hell out of this game growing up and I remember when the game shut down I tried getting it back up and running with the OBBs and such but to no prevail. Amazing video, can't wait for the next one!
good video, interesting stuff. love the presentation and the music you chose, especially the classical music.
How convenient, i was actually just thinking about this game and was sad that it was removed
Ok now do SpongeBob diner dash
clicked right away for the nostalgia of this game!
may this video go far in the algorithm
Honestly im so happy the algorithm showed me your channel you deserve more subs
Great video btw
ultimatespongebobfan101 mentioned + peak game mentioned
also very good video!
also back in the day, you were required to have wifi on iOS, it was agonizingly slow too :)
Thanks - I'm glad it wasn't just me being impatient as an 8-year-old that I'm remembering and it really was that slow back in the day!
@@AubreyHolmesIt was definitely better back in the day; I used to change date and time to get infinite coins and food
Genuinely shocked you have such a low subscriber and view count for this otherwise very impressive video!
Digital necromancy just isn't as appreciated as it should be, I suppose
underrated channel, wish the algorithm would promote this more and hey, thanks to it i got here so good going on that end.
16:25 and yes i instantly thought of this albeit I knew this game had to be Unity based so you'd need a bit more work to get the assets out, good thing you did
That's some impressive work you've done there mate!
Holy mackerel so cool, I should probably check in to see if Skylanders Lost Island is alive
I REMEMBER THIS
I remember this game! Thank you for reviving this
In part 5, you mention the game acting weird now, and that's because the servers still hosting any data at all (aka the shutdown message) has itself been shut down, and the game hangs as it trys to get any server connection, eventually failling over to the offline mode.
I was starting to think this was what's happened as well, but the Android version at the very least is still able to kill itself sometimes.
@@AubreyHolmes Out of curiosity, would someone be able to feasibly edit out all of the game’s ability for telemetry that causes the server to get pinged or would that fundamentally break the whole thing?
Whenever I've tried to touch anything other than game.json even the slightest bit the game has just hung at the splash screen but a couple of people who know more about this kind of thing than me have said it's almost definitely doable, so I'll have a look into it.
@@AubreyHolmes Alrighty
Now all that’s left is to setup a Private Server for the game!
I bet that would be easy for android iOS would be another story tho
THANK YOU for talking about this game. It felt as if I were the only one who remembered it!
Underrated. This video is so good
ill never forget buying this app on my ipod touch, which $2.49 for my younger self might as well have been a thousand dollars, and it never working haha. still salty about this.
Would it be possible to pull this sort of necromancy with Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow as well?
Love this, didn’t know it was taken down, I have redownloaded it twice in the past couple years. Need one of these for minions paradise and SpongeBob marbles and slides now tho
As someone who used to play this game, I'm most suprised by the fact it took so long to get Gary in the game.
This video right here made me realize...... Wait this was taken off google play and app store? (Actually all the apps were removed, I just checked soooo RIP Nickelodeon Apps 2010s - 2024? Idk)

@@alejandrominecraftpe6057Wait 2021? I could have sworn i saw the apps back in 2023 and even early 2024

Oh, I remember that game! I especially remember when SML did a video where Jeffy asked Mario to buy him this game which lead to the episode ending up on the news cause a kid almost hanged himself after watching it.
I played this game a bit on the kindle fire back in 2015 but never got far because of how huge the game was. great video
Just wondering? Do you think its okay to have wifi and mobile data on during gameplay? Not only safety (Don't want the Russians spying on me) wise, but, also gameplay wise, considering the game has suicidal tendencies.
I think you're alright in terms of Russia as far as I'm aware, and from what I've seen it can work with networking on it just does the weird reloading thing I experienced at 24:38. Although there's a chance it'll lock you out before you even load in for the first time.
@@AubreyHolmes thanks lol i got locked out i think because i think i i accidentally let it use background data and the the game decided to kill itself, it wasn't the same way it happened to you though, it was just the discontinuation screen.
TRy Watching "A better schedule for Nickelodeon's main block" by Evan Rosman.
YOU LEGEND, I MISSED THIS GAME SOOO MUCH
At 34:38 , I think the reason why the amount of food you can have is 32767 is that is the highest number you can display in the 16-bit integer binary code.
thank you so much for finding this! i wanted to play this again but i could not find the link to the working apk file i found years ago! So happy i can play this again!
