I often use Avanti Voyagers between Rhyl and Chester, for the extra £8 return for first class over standard, it is a no brainer. Apart from the comfort, the lack of crowding, the complimentary food and drink alone, makes it actually a cheaper way to travel than buying drinks and snacks from the TFW trolley service on their standard class only trains.

Hi mate, thanks for watching. You’re absolutely right, I always chose AWC on that route for the very same reasons!? A couple of beers, a nice seat - sorted.

Rode one of those from Derby to Edinburg in 2006 1st class and the train was almost brand new as we had a bombardier technician on board in case of problems

I'll be following your footsteps soon! How do I ensure that my wife and I will be able to view the coastline and Irish Sea? Are the double seats always on the wrong side? Thanks in advance!

Hi mate, thanks for watching - The solo seats were on the left hand side (travelling from Belfast to Dublin) but you can get 2 solo seats facing each other.

For the number of passengers on this route, a 2-car train would suffice I think :)

For gods sake don't encourage anyone to shorten their trains. TfW are already a disgrace in this regard.
