After all people I show biz are also human beings they go through same ups and downs
Meenaji and Amrohi sahib were two larger than life characters in the public domain. They have millions of followers still who would like to get familiar with every bit of their lives. Indeed we can get inspired by learning more about their personal life. As such, it is wrong when people state "why look into thier personal lives". For such god like figures, no part of their lives is personal. I have full respect for Rukhsars madam's words as she has tried to clear her father's side of the story, and indeed she has succeeded somewhat, but then there is always two sides to a coin. From Meenaji's side, the silence is simply deafening. She too wrote some diaries which apparently are with Gulzar sahib and these must be brought out into the open now for our sake ie here fans who love her.
I was in my teens when Pakeezah was released.. I remember my mother and her friends discussing that Kamal sahab was not treating her right.. Meena Kumari would have found many men who would want to marry her... Kamal sahab didn't oblige her by marrying Meena jee... all those letters and shayari is how Kamal sahab won her... that statement about traveling in the car from Colaba and receiving a phone call and going to visit Meena is wrong... there were no cell phones then... Kamal sahab became rich and famous because of Meena jee

Urdu perhaps is the sweetest sounding language! I'm happy I know few words of this beautiful and most poetic language.
Thank you for liking URDU, it is a flowery language which inherits a +1,000 years of history from Farsi. We all speak some kind of language which is a part of our environment. Unfortunately URDU could not achieve the status it deserved because of a stigma, it is a language of Muslims from UP. What a sad stigmatization, because most of the URDU poets and singers were not born in URDU speaking families; let us start with Lata, Usha, Sadhurhan Faqir, Sahir, Faiz, Faraz, Qateel, Sufi Tabassum, Noor Jahan, Bare Ghulam Ali Khan, Abida Perveen, Hina Nasrullah, Rafi, Mukesh, and many others, what do you see? They chose URDU for their artistic expressions, they graced URDU, and like a generous GODDESS, URDU made them immortal. Pl. watch "The Guardian" or read the Novel, no one was born speaking URDU, yet the writer, the director, the producer and the actors came together for only one reason, they liked and loved a beautiful princess known as URDU.

I'm from Hyderabad, so even my Telugu has urdu hidden in it. However, about origins of Urdu, you have to search Javed Akhtar's analysis; according to him Urdu is from India - may have Farsi influence, but originated in India. Wherever it originate, for me it's a beautiful language, language of love and language of poetry. Peace.

Of course URDU is a language of India, a country which I left in 1950, and I have been detached from those who consider URDU as theirs since 1974, but I never left URDU, and URDU never left me. I do not know at what point the general perception emerged that it is a language of Muslim Elites. This misconception has left losers on all sides. Personally, I love everyone who loves URDU, and I consider myself lucky that understand this beautiful medium of the ethereal feelings.
Urdu Sweetness is Great Misconception: As Urdu Scholars and Poets(Both Muslim, Hindu)deeply infiltrated Hindi Cinema Industry , they Greatly Borrowed Farsi(Persian)words into Urdu, Making it nightmare for Ordinary Hindu, to comprehend Urdu, Therefore Neither Urdu, nor Persian is Sweet. Sweetness is Illusion, The More You Steal from Farsi, the More urdu seems Sweet.
We Speak Persian at home, and Hindi in Public, can understand that Urdu is True Hybrid of:( Persian+Sanskrit )

I am very proud of this Channel. Please keep up the good work. Our sweet language should be given its appropriate respect and value all over India. Although I am settled in Britain long time ago, my heart beats for Urdu, my mind thinks about Urdu and Lips murmurs for Urdu....It is this language which has brought the Indian Cinema to its height and fame right from the time GO.... until this day.....Having said that, Amrohi's daughter Rukhsar ji is a real proud daughter of her father who is on her father's defensive and talking so proud of him. What a respect she is rendering to all the three, Her Dad, Mum and that Choti Ammi!!!! (Ofcourse, Mehjabeen Bano is every one's favourite though) That's really kind of her.

Pakeeza was a sickly film. Kamal Amrohi was not a great director. He wasted too much time over each film he made, and made many errors in all his films. Mahal became immortal because of Khemchand Prakash's music and especially the immortal song "aayega aane wala", and because of Madhubala's incomparable beauty as well as Ashok Kumar's beautiful handling of his own role.
