Her painful life story affected her deeply which also showed up in her professional career.

Despite of so many difficulties in life she stood strong and lived life on her own terms... immense respect to Meena ji. A legendary actress, eloquent poetess, writer, singer and so beautiful. She is adorable and will always be remembered..🙌

This was a good presentation, however, in talking about Meenaji, she is always presented as a tragic figure. I feel this is a mistake.I feel Meenaji was a great and colourful personality. She had rather more hardship in her life than the commom joe, but she also had great fun as we can see from her on screen and off screen life. She was intelligent, vivacious, funny, and a great mimic and made people laugh. She was a great cook, and liked to tinker at home; she liked playing cards. It is sad that she allowed herself to drift into loneliness and then took to alcohol. The tragedy, of course, is that such a beautiful person (in every sense) lived such a short life. But she will always live on in our memories of her. I wish someone would do a more light hearted feature about her about her lighter moments; particularly when she celebrated her great acheivements she must have been happy!
She was a good comedinne too. Watch Azad and Kohinoor. She was cute in Miss Mary too.
