Yeah, it does sound good bro..clear as a piano. I get so tired of people trying teach people how to play something and their guitar isn't even in tune.
Dude, are you kidding me! I just started looking around on how to play this song and here you are with a lesson. I always enjoy your lessons man, keep up the good work!
Dude I know these videos are old but I still want to thank you! Because of you I actually learned how to play the guitar and now with you great teaching skills with the way you slowed it down enough to get me to learn all the A/C songs! Thanks again man!
Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. The electric solo is more stripped down with big sustaining parts, but knowing the acoustic version it should make it easier for you to convert the solo or just play the same solo and cut back on some of the runs. Its great to hear my videos have been helping you out, best of luck with your playing. Ill add your requests to my list.
Great vid brofessor. Have been working on this one for a while now. Justcouldnt seem to get some of the movements quite right, until now. Thanks a million. Subscribed and thumbed up.
As others have said, yours is spot-on. When I set out to learn this there were a lot out there but they were all wrong so I figured it out on my own. The only part that eluded me was the B3/2 into the A7. The b3/2 was obvious but the a7 and subsequent picking - I was close but when I heard yours I knew that was what I was doing wrong. Thanks man.
@@rpguitarvideos gotcha. Not like I’m going to be in an AIC tribute band or anything. Can’t do Jerry’s hair flips anyways. So I’ll go with it & my cat will be ok with it.
Great lesson! I've learned so much from your videos. Thank you so much! Any chance you could do a lesson on whale and wasp??? I can't find one anywhere
You dont fingerpick? I thought i would never get fingerpicking till i wanted to learn how to play landslide. That forces you to fingerpick. I enjoy what you give us so thank you.
Excellent tutorial. Not sure if he mentioned the drop tuning half step for people wondering why they sound out of tune? Starting with low E: D sharp, G sharp, C sharp, F sharp, A sharp, D sharp
Sounds like it would be easier to finger pick than use a real pick. Your lesson is pretty pimp. Oh shit, you just mentioned he finger picks right as I go to comment this.
Thanks for the lesson. Helped me a lot. But, i play it in standard tuning. Too afraid to tune it to 'b'. Is that okay if i tune it to 'b' ? I play it with electric guitar. I don't know how to intonate my guitar. Newbie here
Anytime and you're welcome. "b" is the "flat' symbol. You can play this song just fine in standard tuning but to match my lesson and the original recording you would need to tune all the strings down 1/2 step. Which would be called Eb or E flat tuning.
Hey, when I play along to the recording, I'm having a hard time figuring out the timing for when you transition from the strumming riff to the outro at the very end. Any tips? Thanks
Tap your foot to the beat and count out the measures....memorize and work the pattern in really slowly....then it just comes down to smoothing out the transition.
I don't follow
+ryder271 same here
Then I guess you're never coming home.
🤣
Pass you down the bottle, then perhaps you'll follow
thank you! this is my fave AIC song

I was gonna write the same thing! Sounds so bright and clean

+Kenton Secker Thank you very much!
Thank you for adding the tab during the parts. Not everyone does that. Very cool
No problem Brad, you're welcome!
I love the tone of your Taylor-
One of the best tutorials I've come across. Took me less than 10 min to play.
Great job!

Thanks for the lesson. Too darn amazing! :)
The tab overlays are terrific
Thanks!!! super good lesson, easy and direct to the point. cheers, brother
Great to hear and you're welcome Daniel!
one of the best lessons I've seen...hitting your tip thanks for sure....I'm assuming the outro is the same sequence d major, G6, A7 back to D major
Thanks Craig and I'd have to relearn to song to answer that one....sorry. It probably is that progression.

Excellent tutorial. Not sure if he mentioned the drop tuning half step for people wondering why they sound out of tune?
Starting with low E:
D sharp, G sharp, C sharp,
F sharp, A sharp, D sharp
I usually put the tuning in the video intro and for some really old videos I put that info in the description.
@@rpguitarvideos I missed it! Apologies, great tutorial! Thank you.

25 years I've been using an A major, A7 does sound more accurate. ✌️

@@guitareater6975 you're welcome!
most excellant
Thanks!!
Anyone know where to find a harmonica lesson for this song?
Picks just don't sound like fingerpicking. And fingerpicking just doesn't sound like picking. I find this song best finger-picked.
The finger picking definitely sounds better for sure
spectacularly sad song
pretty much!
Where can I put a capo to simulate this sound?
I have no idea how to incorporate a capo for this song.
l do follow
Where are the extensions played?
Not sure what you're asking? But this is my only lesson for this song.
You can just listen to the song and hear where the extensions are played. Usually after the verses
@@guitareater6975 Those are harmonica parts or something similar.
Como eu queria meu violão agora comigo
How hard is it possibly to learn this if your kinda new
I'm sure with practice. you can play the song
this guy tryna vibrato so much i thought he had parkinson’s 👀
That's just a nasty comment...hahahaha!
lost me in the strumming why didn't you put the tabs
sorry that's too much work
Who plays a g6 augmented
With an a7, David Gilmore 😎🤘❤️
Congrigate
Music trivia?!? haha
drop d?
No it's standard tuning down 1/2 step
My thumb hurts when i play this😆
I hate when that happens!
I am obviously using a pick......YOU WANNA DO IT LIKE HIM USE YOUR FINGERS.....LOL.
That's right! I have to disclose all the info I know of for the internet know it all/crybabies hahaha!
dududududu
What the hell does arpeggiate mean?
C'mon man! Up and down or vice verse pattern.
rpguitarvideos i dont know all that Theory stuff
rpguitarvideos kind of wish you explained the picking pattern better
Sorry Brandon, I did the best I could on this one. Look at it as good ear training, if all you do is ready tabs it's hard to progress as a player.
I dont read tabs
ive no confidence to attempt this :( lovely song though as are all AIC songs
Give it a try
I literally didn’t pick up a guitar until last month and learned how to play Nutshell and Down in a hole... you just have to put the time
Dont forget to arpegeate 😂
