There needs to be a story/script that's worth making a movie out of to justify the investment, and the "change wikus back to a human and then go back home to their planet is not a story," it's a lame pile of shit....it's probably over.

One of the most underrated sci fi movies ever
This is not a sci fi movie, this is a documentary.
It's not underrated, but quite appreciated movie. IMDB gave a decent score, most critic reviews are very favourable. It won a Critics' Choice Movie Award
The final act of this film was so satisfying. In fact the whole film was incredible. Shame Elysium and Chappie never filled its shoes.

It is also crazy that this movie was made for a fraction of the cost of other VFX-heavy films of the era and looks better. It was made for 1/5th the cost of the 2009 Star Trek movie

Still disappointed they didn't do a prequel to this movie......if any movie deserves a part 2 it's this one.
0:34 was so interesting, noticing the biological signatures and labeling several exotics among a comrade and automatically protects the comrade regardless of origin. That means this exosuit was designed for interspecies warfare, and that there is world peace on the Prawn's home planet with a completely united population only interested in defense against aliens. For example, this suit would not work in a civil war with Prawns on both sides, so it must be for aliens only and the Prawns must all have been united already.
Not really, since the suit was in a spaceship, it must be configured to only attacks other species, if they need to kill each other , they just need to change its configuration, prawn lives in a hive mind like society, so if there was more than one, they did fight each other.
@@SuperKratosgamer well that's possible too, but to me, the message I got was that it always is configured against other species as a default because the decision-making process operates likely in the same way the alien firearms recognizes the biological signature of the specific species of user.
He was kind of half prawn always. And their technology are locked with their prawn gene. So it is fair that the mech suit can detect and protect whoever has the prawn gene.
it's an alien mech suit and you think it has one setting from which you can infer the social climate of the alien homeworld as well as their militaristic design philosophy

The Exosuit's telekinetic field used to stop bullets and pick up objects reminded me of the Vortex Shield in Titanfall as well as the Gravity Gun in Half Life 2.
Both great games, Half Life 2 was my all time favourite until I played Prince of Persia on Switch
I’m sure they took plenty of ideas from those.
Also in the latter fight with the mercenaries. It "grabbed" and throws a pig into the mercs.

I like the fact that they use high advance electrical type weapons and we just blow up and explode 🤣🤣. Very realistic 😊 also the start up of the mother ship and shockwave that blew out all the windows. Very creative and again realistic

My friends brother was a literal millionaire. He had a movie theatre hence a huge screen it was equipped with big leather chairs and all. We watched this movie. Some years back. I might have to watch it again.

Would be cool if the mech was able to detect how much of a threat someone is by their level of malice or intent. My boy here, being the leader and eater of shrimps, got an extra special gift to ensure his destruction 🤭
All of the prawn technology is kind of biological. Thats the reason that the weapons need the right dna.
I suspect the mech must have "smelled" everything in that room and proceeded to neutralize any agressive foreign lifeform.

This movie tells what happens when a colony similar to that of the ants is left without its leaders.
Everything is disorder, chaos and loss of the purpose for which it was created. That is why the survivors live like paupers. They don't know how to live outside of the roles they had established when they had a leader. And this was a great opportunity for the worst in our own society to have their own slaves.
