  • The annual Lakeside Open House is Saturday, April 29, 2023. Every year, it is preceded by moving the machines from the buildings to the show area. Normally, I make videos of the moves, but didn't make it this year; So here is a photo gallery instead.
The big addition this year is the very early P+H 206 crane with the weird boom. It is special for Lakeside, since one of the first machines when Lakeside was starting up was one of these, with a clamshell. This machine came from Long Island, crossing to the mainland on a WW-II LST! It was in hopeless condition when it arrived, thus it took a bit longer to get it into beautiful working condition. It didn't have the boom, one was found and purchased later.

NOTE: My videos are not monetized! Most of my videos are to help multiple nonprofits, thus allocating any income would be a nightmare. YT is throwing ads where they shouldn't be! Worse, many of the ads are obnoxious or offensive.

Thank you for sharing. I had plans to attend but have to cancel everything. Made it last year and had a great 2 days.

Thursday evening, going home from the plant. What "interesting" did I miss?

Lakeside Sand and Gravel, Mantua, Ohio, south of Cleveland. This is the home base of the Harry Young Chapter, HCEA. Larry Kotkowski is the owner of the very large gravel pit. He specializes in very early machines that you don't see at other shows. Most of what you see runs.
The show is on Saturday, April 29, and the Watch Fob show is Friday and Saturday, nothing on Sunday. Many of the Brownsville folks show up. Weather looks iffy.
I usually buy something I can't afford at the Fob show.
      Brownsville coming soon!!!
