I'm so glad you reacted to this song with Olivia, may she Rest In Peace. This is such beautiful and poignant verson. Please join me in wishing John a complete recovery from his own battle cancer where he recently underwent a marathon operation for oral cancer where part of his jaw was removed. Such a horrific decease. Praying for him and all cancer sufferers 🙏🙏🙏❤️

They were the centerpiece at the opening ceremonies of the 2000 Sydney Olympics. They sang Dare To Dream, and you can see it here on CZcams. They've recorded at least two Christmas albums together, and enjoy singing together as much as their busy lives, and living on opposite ends of the planet will allow!

Such a beautiful song and angelic performance by both John and Olivia. The acting, the vocals, stage presence, John’s mic control and his vocal range is epic, seemingly endless. And on that last few notes I think John was singing even higher than Olivia’s. Just magic. You need to do more of John’s epic music, from a solo kid to LRB years and after. Bridge over troubled waters, great early performance (1970) I think, chain reaction with an epic and marathon harmonica solo, and let me out with an epic marathon guitar solo from Brett Garsed are a few great ones, and many more.

When l was a young lad growing up in the 50's and 60's, celebrating wedding anniversaries was a big thing; there would be big celebrations, and the appropriate present. The big ones being Silver 25th, Gold 50th and Platinum 70th; other significant ones were Tin10th, China 20th, Pearl 30th, Ruby 40th and Diamond 60th.

John Farnham originally recorded Please Don’t Ask Me in 1980 for his Uncovered album the song was written by Little River Band’s Graham Goble who also produced the album . After this Graham was writing songs with John’s vocals in mind not with Little River Band’s lead singer Glenn Shorrock in mind , which lead to Glenn Shorrock leaving LRB in 1982 and John brought in as lead vocalist .

Lovely reaction... I saw this concert (in the round) "The Main Event" with Olivia, John and Anthony Warlow twice back it's run and it was spectacular. The DVD (running 2 hours and 40 mins) and CD of it was number 1 on the Australian charts for some time and it went 5 x Platinum - it was the 4th most popular album of the year1998 and still held the 24th position for the following year. Olivia and John have also recorded a Christmas album together called "Friends For Christmas" that went 2 x Platinum and also and album and DVD for the concert tour they did together called "Two Strong Hearts" - the DVD for this actually went Platinum. Hugely successful Aussies who are revered in our country.

John and Olivia have been friends from when they were young. John still calls his wife Jilly, the bride. What I find really funny is my husband went to school with Olivia, he went to the boys school and she went to their partnered girls school. They had a lot of shared school activities and my husband hated having to dance with any girl at school. He wasn’t into girls at 15, we were scary creatures back then. This July 1st we will be married 52 years. We got married when I was 17 and he was 21. I always looked older and he would never have asked me out had he known it was my 16th birthday. Seventeen back then was way older than 17 is now. I would have choked my children had they tried to get married that young. I was never 17.
Don’t forget both John and Olivia are actors too. John played Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. When he does a concert he isn’t just a singer, he is a showman and the concert this is from is called The Main Event. They both went on a 3 month tour with Anthony Warlow who is a star in his own right. After he finished cancer treatment and all three are very good people. You can watch that concert just to see how funny they are together. Especially John and Anthony singing Granada. I never thought I would see John sing opera but he did.
Olivia built a beautiful cancer centre or she calls it a wellness centre onto a big hospital in Melbourne the first time she got breast cancer. She has another one on her property for women who need it. She has stage 4 mastastasized breast cancer. I think it is her third time but she will never give up. Not without a fight.
My youngest daughter sang this song to win a very big song contest in Melbourne. Until she announced whose song she was singing neither I nor the judges knew it was John’s. One judge wrote on her paper that she never liked John Farnham but after hearing that song she was going home to listen to more with an open mind. Those 3 in concert are funny, touching and amazing even if John has to wave his white flag at the end of Granada for Anthony.

Thank you for such a great comment, you had me laughing when you said "we were scary creatures" yes, that is how it is supposed to be 😆 they have to be very brave to deal with us. 😂 - Sometimes I wish it was still like that. My hubby Rollen played with toys and trucks until a very late age, around 13 maybe even 14, they were allowed to be children. His parents were much older generation and did not have the same traditions as the younger families.
Congratulations on your lifelong marriage, this is very rare, and you both deserve upmost respect and recognition for not giving up and your commitment to each other through thick and thin, all the ups and downs, no marriage doesn't have them. Rollen's parents made it 55 years before mom passed, it is something you don't see much anymore. If lifelong love was the goal in life, was the currency, more people would take it seriously and not treat it as taking out the garbage every week. When the wedding day matters more than the marriage, it is bound to fail.
I know all about Olivia and her many struggles not just with cancer but in her life, I've seen her daughter who is her rock, I'm familiar with her husband/partner and his devotion to helping treat her cancer. She will always be a fighter. I like that your daughter was able to pull someone else in and change their mind about John, how touching and special to do that. Thanks for watching, much appreciated!

This is a list of my fave Olivia/Farnsy duets from this "Two Strong Hearts" tour, which you should def check out! There was a tour before this one, called The Main Event, which was with Anthony Warlow aswell as these 2, and those are great aswell. There are some really funny moments thrown in there! Especially with the 2 Grease songs and Physical! The song Dare To Dream is worth a watch just for the story before the song! The song was written for the 2000 Sydney Olympic games, they recorded it and because of John's roving eye for the ladies, he nearly killed poor Olivia! 🤣
But yeah, check them out! Check the whole concert out, along with The Main event!
