I've heard John Farnham sing this song before, but this duet with his great friend Olivia Newton John is so relatable. I know exactly how this song feels, it could be talking about my own friendship.
I love your reaction!!!! I agree the song is so beautiful. John and Olivia "grew" up together in the music business. They are very good friends, John has been married to his sweetheart Jill for many many years. I think this was just after Olivia battled her 1st round of cancer ( please don't come for me in comments if I'm wrong😂) they have great chemistry together but are only very good friends. Their acting is on point though....right???? Tragically I believe John found out he had cancer around the time that Olivia was taken home. RIP Olivia. I met her once in Australia she came to the hospital I worked in and I got a photo with her. She was beauty inside and out😭. Thankyou for your reaction again. I LOVE this song sung by both of them together. It certainly hits you in the feels. 😢 Take care 🌸
They were just friends who respected each other. John is married to the love of his life for around 50 years. It is a sentimental song and they both are professional artists and all Australians love these 2 people so much. Try John in this same Event singing Granada with our Anthony Warlow who is more to the Operatic side of things, it will cheer you as they both lark around on stage. Also both Olivia and Anthony do some Solo performance with Olivua doing a superb rendition of Don't Cry for Me Argentina and Anthony doing Music of the Night. Loved your statue and the fact it reminds it off you dad makes it extra special to you. Xxxx

They both came from the UK as kids, long time friends. The song was written by a guy from little River Band. Look up their Reminiscing. She was a great actress, try Grease and Xanadu.

Both of them are brilliant Australians ,so cherished John going though his whole cancer battle . I know Olivia is up their telling him to hold on and fight . I feel that any Aussie who doesn’t love them both ,well that’s down right unaustralian . It’s a beautiful song of unrequited love . They were great friends rip Olivia and John is love can heal someone then we send a freight trains worth and more .

They were very good friends, who began their careers at about the same time in the same city (Melbourne, Australia). I believe John asked Olivia to join him on this occasion, just after Olivia had spent years battling, and beating, cancer. She believed her career was over after so long away, but John proved that not to be true by inviting her back on stage. John has been happily married since the 1970s! 😊

John and Olivia started their careers at the same time on Bandstand in Sydney. I can imagine the pair of them giving each other the courage to perform in front of the cameras back when they were teenagers.

I'm watching you, watching the song... loving all of it... and I'm crying like a baby xx and to answer a couple of your questions... no they were never married, never even dated. John has been with his wife for about 50 yrs I believe..... ONJ was married a couple of times.... and unfortunately we lost her not long ago to cancer....... she is sorely missed....the Australian music industry is like this though... mostly every artist truly loves every other Australian artist and supports them..... we are a small country (population wise) and these guys grew up supporting each other...

Great reaction he really gets to the heart of you. Lovely performance from 2 amazing singers and especially now Oliva is no longer with us very emotional to watch. Such a beautiful song. You can see by the way they sing together just what great friends they were. We are so lucky to have all the great songs Oliva left us to listen to and of course the wonderful songs her and John did together. John and Oliva make you feel every note and touch you're heart when singing them.
Why was this not a massive hit?
Olivia passed away in August she had cancer for 30 years. they are best friends but both married to other people. Also John has just had major surgery for mouth cancer.

These two are not lovers, but they have been very good friends for many years. They were teenagers when they started out in the entertainment industry, in the same town, at the same time.

There best friends they are really close like family he has cancer they had to remove some of his jaw but I hope he gets better when I heard what happened to him I cried and every time I hear his songs I cannot help it so please play more of his music I am a big fan of his get well soon farnzy we love you

They were 3/4through a tour and had to cancel because Olivia had cancer for the second time and final time a few years later Olivia went back to the USA to have her final year on earth

No, not married. John has been married to the same woman since his 20's but Olivia was a close friend. Please react to him singing 'When the War is Over' the last time. His vocal range is insane. You will almost be in disbelief. With John Farnham, always review his live performances. So much more energy than the official videos.

@@GracieReacts It's actually about falling in love with someone when you are already married and you are not free to pursue the relationship. I wrote 'Please Don't Ask Me' in January 1979 and the lyrics tell what happened to me.
