I mean, let's be real, Brendon was the only original band member left, and the genre of music he prefers to make over the years has dramatically shifted. Albums like "Death of a Bachelor" and "Pray for the Wicked" had more of a mainstream pop vibe to them rather than the rock roots that singles like "I write Sins" and "The Ballad of Mona Lisa" had. This just basically translates into Brendon Urie dropping the name, but I doubt he's done making music.
Literally couldn’t of said it better myself
@@ElectroNinjaHD Thank you man.
Actually, he just changed his band name...the band name will be called Brandon Urie.
@@rebelmetal4233 I figured as much. He's had solo artist vibes for years now.
100% what I was gonna say lol. Panic has been, imo, broken up since like 2017-18. The band was basically just a title for Brandon to post music, and honestly the long running joke was that he should just be a solo act at this point, cause he basically is. Can't say I've stayed a fan, but I look forward to seeing what happens with his music career.
I feel like brendon will continue making music in some way, he has such an amazing voice and you can tell he loves it.
he has ruined his vocal chords. boy sounds like he's gargling meatloaf live. he needs years to rest and recuperate and work with a vocal coach and doctors to fix as much damage as possible
@@taylorh4480dont know what youre hearing
@@taylorh4480 uh lol wth are you even talking about i heard him not too long ago and he was amazing 😬
He sucks. They're all generic wannabes. And they sure aren't rock.
@@beastiekat4562 don’t worry, beastie. it’s called catty ness. people can hate on things he’s said, but bashing his voice was petty and nobody had an issue with his pipes that came with insurance until the hatred towards him became mainstream.
Breaks my heart! Dont get me wrong, Im happy for him and Sarah but DUDE!!!!! I never made it out to see him in concert. My daughter did but I failed. @BrendonUrie please dont leave us forever. The world needs your voice! Love you bud. Congratulations and best of luck to you and your family.
I feel you, I only got to see him once on his last tour (without realizing it was his last 😭) and it was PHENOMENAL changed my husband and my life lol 😂 I was so excited to see more and hearing the news was bittersweet, so so so over the moon for him and Sarah, but so sad to not get to see him more afaik
I'm gonna miss Panic and Brendon so much and its really sad to see him go! I'm pissed at all the hate he's getting on social media like it's really messed up and pissing me off bc they act like Brendon did absolutely nothing during the era where the band really was a band. But anyways I hope he lives a good rest of his life and hope to see a come back or even a reunion with other members in later years.
I know he's done or supposedly done bad things in the past but he's grown up sooooo much these past years and changed as a person
@@riskyproductions6563 It those annoying ass kids on Twitter/FB/Instagram. The allegations against B were proven fake, so why are they still bringing that shit up?
Let’s go Brandon!
@@ptrckwntzatthedisco I have no idea... just a bunch of nerds
@@riskyproductions6563 Gen Z kids, man. Most of them are whiny snowflakes who get butthurt over the smallest shit. Go "woke", go broke. What happened to the good old days when you could say whatever you wanted?
Been a fan of Panic! since 2020, listening to their music got me through quarantine. This is very bittersweet for me, but I so happy for Brendon and Sarah. I hope Brendon will continue to make music in the future, but for now he definitely deserves a break from it
Oh newbie you really missed out on the 2006 era that was the best time to be a panic fan. I’ve been a fan since 2004 and have stuck by them through everything I’ve even met Brendon and he’s a sweet heart. They where also the first band I ever saw in concert back in 2006. I’m sure going to miss them…..
Yeah I’ve always wished I could’ve been a fan around the time they first started out, but seeing as how I was busy being born when the first album was released I didn’t really have the chance
Let’s go Brandon!
@@sammyuel7329 not even shaming you for being late, im just sad you had to be around for when the party was basically over. rip man.
Oh I didn’t think you were shaming me anyway, but even though I’m a new fan it was still a great experience thay I wouldn’t give up for anything I got to see them live last year so im not too upset
I’ve been a panic fan since 2004. They where the very first band I ever saw in concert back in 06. They literally started my love of going to concerts and seeing my favorite bands live. I even met Brendon 9 years ago and he was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I’m sad they are breaking up (yes I know this is the 2nd time they have broke up) but I got to see them In concert 10 times and I will always have the music. I’m sure going to miss them!!!!
Got into P!ATD around 2011, and Vices is still one of my favorite albums. AFYCSO's absolutely iconic though; would've killed to experience one of the shows during the Nothing Rhymes With Circus tour. Haven't actually met B, but finally got to see him in Vegas. Even though VLV's not his best work, the album actually sounds better live. Sucks that he's deciding to end it after nearly two decades, but definitely wishing him and Sarah the best in the next chapter.
@@ptrckwntzatthedisco the nothing rhymes with circus tour was my very first concert and my god it was amazing
@@ptrckwntzatthedisco the videos don’t do it justice honestly it was like a giant
Vaudevillian Circus in concert form. He had dancers drum lines acrobats you name it!!!!
We've definitely not heard the last from Brendon Urie! I think the main thing he is stepping down from is the responsibility of having a working, touring band that takes him away from home so much. He will "retire" from that for a while until he's able to take his wife and child/ren along with him. He definitely won't stop making music, or anything else his imagination dreams up.💕
I always thought there was some deeper meaning to the line in High Hopes: "I've got one more run and it's gonna to be a sight to see."
On another note - can you imagine how much fun it would be to be Brendon's and Sarah's kid? 😜
Definitely bittersweet. Sucks that P!ATD's ending after nearly two decades, but grateful that I had the chance to see them in Vegas. Completely understand and respect B's decision though. Congrats to him & Sarah, and wishing them the best in the next chapter.
Bittersweet...? I think I see what you did there
@@DwnldGhst The reference was unintentional, but Vices is one of my favorite albums. AFYCSO will always be iconic though
Panic! broke up in 2015, this is simply Urie making it official by finally dropping the name.
The actual band broke up years ago
Nope
@@xbrandon2252 Yup.
@@xbrandon2252 yes
Let’s go Brandon!
The actual band hasn't been the actual band since about 2015, at that point and until now, it was brendon urie hiring touring musicians to play his stuff, this break up is him deciding he doesn't want to tour to raise his child, as he should, the band will continue when he decides to book tours again.
I usually don't comment, but P!ATD is my favorite band. I discovered them about 6 years ago and they went with me through so many events of my life, happy ones, sad ones, and they watched me grow without knowing it, from middle-school to college right now. Hell, it was the band I listened to the most in 2022. How ironic it is that the same day that Brendon Urie announced the end of Panic!, I was explaining earlier at lunch that they were my favorite band. I am sad that Brendon Urie stops the band here, as I loved them, but I wish him the best and lots of love. And who knows, maybe he will come back later as independent. What a journey it was! Still gonna listen to them for years! (also, don't go see Panic!'s post on Instagram: there is so much hate in the comments that even Twitter would choke on it)
He's just kicking back and casually working on the next amazing generation of vocals. Making sure his legacy lives on in every way imaginable. Hope to hear from him again someday.
In an interview for his latest album release, he said that he didn’t want to release a new album, and wasn’t going to. He said the only thing that made him WANT to write a new album, was the excitement he got from a friend convincing him to record a record on tape, and in that style. That album was his baby, and it was NOT received well at all. I think that just made his decision a lot easier.
I grew up with the father of the guy who plays the groom in the video for I Write Sins and I also did road work for their record label Fuled by Ramen 🍜
Wooo, that's so cool, congratulations!
Sucks to see how many people are just ok with spreading hate and misinformation. It’s fine youre a fan of ryan, dallon or jon, support them. But you dont have to hate another person just coz youre not a fan of them. Panic will be missed for sure. But the hate just dont make any sense.
I'm actually pretty sad! Been here since the beginning! It's been a hell of a run! I'm hoping he will release some solo albums!
thats just leaving room for a reunion of the original lineup.
Brendon is so talented!! Love his music and I’m sure he’ll be back when his child is older. Wishing him and Sarah (two of the sweetest people) all my best!! ❤
It has been wonderful hearing such great music from P!ATD, so this is definitely bittersweet news for all. I still remember that meet and greet at Best Buy in Chicago back in 2008 when Pretty. Odd. was released. Needless to say, I got to shake hands with Brendan while getting my CD signed. Honestly, congrats to him and Sarah entering a new chapter in their lives. ❤️✌🏾
Don't blame Brendon, probably gets tiring after a while with constant venues and touring the world, Every band deserves to take a break/hiatus or retire,or come back after being on hitaus but it's all good, wish them the best of luck
Sounds like a nice dude! I was never a big fan of their music but I have mad respect for this guy after hearing this stuff 😎👍 parenting should ALWAYS be top priority
💯
@@cotopaximusic those allegations were false
Good luck to Brendon Urie and the rest of the members of Panic! At The Disco for their future endeavors.
Is this really a disband if he was the only one in the band?
He’s just announcing his solo career 8 years too late.
You’re missing the point . It’s more he’s done playing the songs the actual band made and the songs he made using the name . But like another commenter said he should’ve retired the name back in like 2013
I'm glad I got to see him
i hope brendon makes more music in the future but becoming a dad is one of the best reasons to step away
Well, I guess P!ATD *finally* closed the goddamn door. 😞

Good for him! I’m excited for him and his family (:
I’ll miss Panic! but I’m so happy for him and his wife, they deserve to settle down completely and just rest in the legacy they’ve built.
BRENDON URIE IS A GOD! HIS MUSIC MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE! HE WILL BE BACK!
oh man im actually rly sad :( i went to his concert in october
im like crying im so sad
Their break up was in 2009.
He'll probably pull an MCR and be back when his kid's grown
hopefully
The band was already dead, imo. It’s more like - Brendon Urie will stop releasing music under the name "Panic! At the Disco".
So true LOL
I mean yeah that basically is what it means lol
I feel like this may just be like what happened with the band HIM where it was more the front person over time and then after the split, it turned into a moment as a solo artist. Which honestly I feel like there's a lot of similarities between Brendon Urie and Ville Valo. Both extremely talented vocalists and musicians.

Congratulations to Brendon!
My high school sophomore self from 2004's heart is breaking right now. Will never forget seeing them play at Bamboozle in the early 2000s here in NJ. This is also the same place I found out what it feels like to get kicked in the head with a steel toe boot in a moshpit 🙂
I like this background music u have
hoping he pulls an mcr and brings the band back together
He doesn't have the best relationship with the other members.
@@lucifersam7946 probably means more that they will stop for awhile and then come back lol

Love the music and sad to see him go. For me Brendon's newer stuff is more meaningful because I wasn't around for the original band. Viva Las Vengeance Tour was great!
Was this the reason why The All American Rejects tweeted "We will outlive them all"

It’s crazy how many bands of the 2000’s were inspired by blink 182 so many popular bands back then wouldn’t have existed without blink.
ok
Dang I remember when I Write Sins came onto the scene and everything changed. One of the best debut albums ever but then I remember Pretty Odd coming out and just being like :/
Lol true
100%. People always act like Pretty Odd is good just because the original lineup was still together. But that album was 1 of the worst sophomore albums I've heard from a breakout band.
