Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

I loved how confident Monk was when he knew he can beat that lawyer at the end.
Did they show the case going to court? If the court case isn't in the show I am not interested. I want to see that smug lawyer get his just desserts! I don't think I've ever seen a Monk episode where they show the actual judicial process.
@@CC-si3cr I remember the next scene after this it’s the jury reading the verdict in which Monk won. We don’t see how or what happened.
@@CC-si3crwe got to see a court scene earlier in the episode where monk was called upon to testify and the lawyer instead made him look like an idiot, (played on his many phobias) and got his client (curly haired guy) acquitted of the original charges.
@CC-si3cr yes they did. And Monk was brilliant❤
"Im ready for this."
"No you're not." I love this!!
Love how excited Stottlemeyer gets at the end when Monk brings up the chain
The role of Stottlemeyer became more and more friendly and really really good. It's a shame that Levin wasn't even nominated for an Emmy.
The killer's attorney wasn't worth a hill of beans at this point. Idk how that was enough proof to arrest him in the police station.
@@CC-si3cr He confessed in front of a whole police station knowledge of information that no one but the killer or a witness could know. He claims to not have been there. I can't imagine him talking his way out of it.
"Mr. Monk Takes The Stand" has DEFINITELY got to be one of my favorite solves.
10:46 "Did you hear what he just said?"
I like it when one show gives a nod to another.
You've just incriminated yourself, sir.
You just identified the camera
Columbo! The 2 shows share a lot of similarities and plot lines.
@@laureencriss8220 for example both had a blind witness... with colombo it was actually the dog as witness and with monk the blind woman wasn´t blind and actually the killer
@@alexanderzack3720 Technically Columbo's blind witness wasn't his witness. His witness was the doctor. Remember how it ended? "That witness is you." HEHEHE great catch, man.
'Then stop me, for the love of god!"
Chess masters: “the fastest possible checkmate is two moves”
Monk: “allow me to introduce myself”
"Here's what happened" Those are my favorite words when he's going to sum up everything. I just love him ❤️
Tony is the only actor I know who could shout out coherent lines while running.
Monk and Psych are my favourite channels on CZcams!!
yooo same
Love them both!
Monk is a Psycho!!!!!
Me too ❤️!!!
My favorite episode is "Monk as Butler." His neuroses are actually useful there. And the pregnant Traylor Howard is cute.
Totally missed that part it could be a nuclear bomb then stop me for the love of god ! 🤣
2:10 "Mister Monk, what are you doing?!!"
"I don't know!"
Hilarious.
"Those could be nuclear weapons!" - "Then STOP me for the love of God!"
😂
3:32 Meatloaf!
Nothing is impossible for Adrian Monk.
10:34 ...I didn't even understand what Monk meant at first, because I understood "chain snatching" like "chain smoking", like he's accusing him of being a serial robber 😅
The garage door opener from the first scence was omnipotent, able to open ANY garage door anywhere. Someone could use that to breakninto a bank!
I guarantee that any GDO will open 80% of garage doors
Really? This seems like a huge security risk. A thief could just walk down the street clicking at every house until one opened.
@@natenathan2654 Most generic garage doors are built with 20 or so codes to choose from when being programed. It's just a fact that some people will choose the same code. The show could've just exaggerated how many doors it opened, but there is also the fact that most people will not bother to choose a different code than the factory default one. Probably about 80% of people.
Good god its shockimg garages are not broken into all the time!!
@@natenathan2654 It's only shocking until you learn that @sanddagger36 is missing an important piece and this is not how they work at all.
First he used a push button control, not a coded one so the code issue is bunk from the start.
Second the opener sends a unique identifier that is physically part of the device - it can't be changed. If you've ever had to add a new controller to your garage you know you have to do something to get the garage door opener to recognize it. It adds that identifier to it's list of approved controllers. So it doesn't matter if 2 controllers are using the same signal because the only one that will work is the opener has been programmed to use.
So sadly that episode is garbage. The controller would not have opened a single other garage door. On top of that keeping the button held down wouldn't have worked either since they send their signal when the button is clicked. They don't keep sending after that.
Hmm, I'm surprised the one with the chemistry teacher at Trudy's old school wasn't on this video as well as the one when Monk went to Mexico.
Or the magnet. Or the one with Billy Burke.
What monk said to that genius chess player was cold. That's the coldest I've ever seen him.
5:18 Klaes Ashford, the early years before becoming full beltalowda
Meat loaf?? 😂
Monk:She’s the GUY!
Poor Monk with that jerk Harrison Powell.😢 I’m glad he managed to beat that smug lawyer.😊
Jay Mohr absolutely knocked that role out of the park. Who would have thought. Great casting decision.
I agree
Man I really wanted to see what happens in the court on the last clip
They never showed it in the episode it literally cuts from that scene to the jury convicting the guy it's kinda dissapointing since the lawyer was the real obstacle Monk had to over come in the episode and made the episode feel incomplete without it.
@@MikeMJPMUNCH that’s suckssss
These are brilliant
Wtf kinda sedatives did that astronaut use that she stayed unconscious for 2 days
I was thinking the same thing?🤔
The hotel maid was always my favorite one as a kid
I'm sure I've seen this quite a few times, but this is the first time I realised he says:
"Gur harge doors"
He gave her a _BILL COSBY!_ 1:34
I know that this is just a TV show, but has there actually been any real life cases similar to the ones Monk solved?
Pretty sure I've read about headstone switching, but that might have been a detective story.
Most crime shows take inspiration from real cases but might change a couple of details
Saul Goodman looking at that lawyer like - " what a schmuck "
Okay don't get me wrong I love this show, but... I really don't understand the big deal about Mr. Monk Takes the Stand. All of that build-up for Monk's supposed courtroom victory against that undefeated lawyer to happen OFF SCREEN?
Also if we're going for "impossible" and far fetched, the Girl Who Cried Wolf definitely needs to be here.
On the first scene, the stove, l need to hear the fridge door shut. I knew this was a programme that would help me learn about me. Maybe, like the actor , l tried to imitate Adrian but I didn't discover him until 2021.
One of my wishes is that Monk can solve the case of the first episode (two bottles of poison) in the Sherlock 2009 series correctly. This case has filled my mind and I really want it to be solved
MONK !!! 😀 👍
♥️ Monk 4Ever ♥️
One would wonder why this killer didn't just do this specific part and not everything else? 04:50 😆
Jeffrey Donovan showed he could be just as good as a villain as he is a lead actor.
Monk and psych were the best shows
Bring back Monk!!! Whoever runs this channel is great
I mean the series ended, from what I know it had a good conclusion. it wouldn't really be right to start it again.
Peacock said they making a movie
@@beststorytime4325 wooow!!! That's incredible! Thank you for letting me know 😊
I HATE the one with the chess genius. The rook and the king do not "switch places" when castling, and no chess player would describe it that way, let alone a grandmaster. It's just a completely contrived phrasing to set Monk on the right path to solving the case.
It was basically metaphorical, he didn't mean it literally. You don't need to be so pedantic.
There have been several Monk plots i've seen in yt vids over last couple of days that have involved the mail system
And second murder involving the post office, cool. How does one switch headstones though? I imagine he either used a machine or had help because those things look super heavy.
The lawyer looked like Mr. Incredible
Is this channel actually ran by someone at the company, or just someone that has the password to this account? It's consistently re-uploads with minor edits.
Yeah it’s how they make money you’ll watch it because it’s new
Only so many episodes
@@kirk8603 wait what??? I thought this was a new show
@@PimpMacSlickBac nope, series is from 2002

11:16 sad really how he almost got away from it but he just had to open his mouth
Is the first clip the family from Good Luck Charlie lmao
Yes, it is Bob Ducan, from Good Luck Charlie.
Lol miss monk.
Drugging someone so they stay unconscious for DAYS without dying is basically impossible, she'd be dead before the machine started hanging her, further the amount of drugs to keep you out cold for DAYS would be super noticeable in a drink.
I'm talking like heaping tablespoons.
10:37 His attorney shoulda shut his client up... -_-
At the very end of the first one, why didn’t that mechanic seem phased that two civvies were running on the tarmac and likely into the path of a plane taking off?
Always remember: ANYTHING you say or do CAN and WILL be used against you in a court of law. That lawyer should've advised him to shut up.
8:18 A few box
10:23 Who's the actress playing the Para-legal?
Checkmate
how did one man move two headstones by himself lmao
really, calling someone a chain snatcher. i've heard that term a lot.
I call bs on the headstone one unless he had someone come help him there's no way he moved that by himself. I work in the business and there's no way you could do that alone unless you had a crane or something
Wow Reverend Jorgensen is driving like a bat out of hell
The last guy should have called Saul.
The coroner would have determined she died days earlier. The astronaut would be a suspect.
She didn't die days earlier she was just drugged but that being said you'd think they would test if any drugs have been in her system during the autopsy
Toward the start of the episode they do test for drugs and they find something too. There theory originally was that she had taken the drugs herself as a first suicide attempt and when they didn’t kill her, she hung herself instead.
@@rachelstone3122 ok, so when they found drugs they shouldve been able tell that there was enough in her system to knock her out for a couple of days therefore meaning she couldn't have hung herself.
The Rook and the King do not "switch places," and any real chess player would know that. The King jumps over a square and the Rook occupies the square that the King jumped over.
It was basically metaphorical, he didn't mean it literally. You don't need to be so pedantic.

8:16 the guy with the glasses was Shannon Elizabeth's first husband til they divorced cuz she thought she could do better.....yet hes the one who still has a career lol
10:23 Who is that woman? Shes incredible. How do you not give her a speaking line? Probably producer trying to get laaaid. Lol
There’s a continuity error in the shot. She has duct tape over her mouth 1:53 then a scarf? 1:57 Then duct tape again 2:51
The series is full of continuity errors. The producers probably never thought that fans would watch the series more than once. Because if you watch the episode only once, you don't notice it right away.
It’s still tape. It just looks lighter because of how it’s filmed.
😉
For all the germaphobe Monk is he doesn't mind touching evidence with his bare hands.
bob duncan
I don't think military bases are that forgiving
I still don't get why people would kill their wives or siblings
I long for the days of intelligent writing to return to TV. These days we have She-Hulk, Rings of Power, Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Arrowverse (later seasons), all modern day Star Trek, and many others. When will this nonsense end?
You mean when will you grow up and have better taste?
Never trust a blonde lady paramedic!

Most impossible solves? If Monk's cases were impossible, they would not have been solved.
