  • Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a little insight into my perspective on the industry, being independent, the importance of surrounding yourself with like minded people, and most important, grinding until you get to where you want to be.
    Thank you for watching!

Having the interviewer out of sight shows style and adds mystique to the Q and A.

What or who got you into Rap/Hip hop? And who do you look up to for inspiration in the rap game?

good question! well to the very beginning i always loved poetry and rhyming since i learned how to write and it was very natural and easy for me. music has always been part of me, ive always danced, and loved listening to music, my parents when they were young partook in making music but didnt stick to it lol. SPECIFICALLY how i got into hip hop and rap was when i was 13, the environment i was around was very hip hop influenced, im not saying personally i was like a thug gangster n grew up a minority but that was the life and influences i surrounded myself with. A gang at the end of the day is a family and i felt very welcomed, cared about and it was loyalty. in one of my answers i say i put myself through different walks of life and that was one of them. One of our homies was always freestyling and he was sooo good and i loved it, i thought it was so impressive so i started giving it a go, and it just became like a game, a fun hobby. eventually i was getting good, my flow was getting dope, my melodies..melodies always came super naturally to me as well. I recorded a song for fun with my homegirls cus my mom had a voiceover mic, the song is called summer 2012 and its on soundcloud haha and other trap shit for fun but after a while at around 17, we was kickin w a buncha homies and i spit a flow and they were like you should consider this as a career, and that was that.
I started to kinda figure out how this game worked.
I didnt learn english till i was about 8 and i remember always listening to eminem and to this day, everything he stands for, just everything about his mindset, his talent, his skill..i fucking praise it and like thats my goal. also weirdly enough when i was 16 or 15 i felt shy bout being a girl and rapping but fukn kreayshawn came in and killed it and ppl were always like yo ur like kreayshawn, so she showed me that its possible for a pretty lil white girl to rap. looks really dont define where u come from and how good u got it and dont. also when i write songs, when i wana get inspired i go back n listen to queen latifah, lauryn hill, mc lyte, eve, cole, em, kanye, tech9,pac... of the top of my head right now.
i like giving out positive messages, im clearly not a trap like drugs n shit typa person, although i use to be fersure but after certain life events my perspective and a lot changed so now im here to empower ppl.

Valentina La MAMI I loved your extensive response, thank you for your time. I grew up listening to Pac, Nas, Naughty By Nature, Public Enemy etc. I like the fact you mentioned some of the old school rappers you named because I feel like this new generation forgot their roots and what hip hop is and what it was about. Hope you keep getting influenced by the old school generation of rap and I'm looking forward to your projects.
