Great fun! Thanks Dave.
You're welcome! So glad you dig it.
I can't thank you enough. These lessons are a little difficult to keep up with. But a lot fun. Kind of a gentle nudge to get out a comfort zone. At some point, I'm hoping to enroll in your classes.
Thanks! I know it's a lot of work creating these lessons and pdf's. Very appreciated
So glad you’re liking them! I wanted to break this one down a bit, and will continue to do so for the future episodes
Thank you, Dave! I haven't had a chance to actually play along yet, but having this (and the next editions) available to work on when I have time is awesome!
Glad you’re excited about this series!
Dave your videos are incredible! Every video is like its own masterclass, thank you for this ❤
Thank you so much!! 🙏
What I am doing is performing those response efforts humming along to create ideas in my head.
I can do that a bunch of times over and over to create thinking of what may work.
Great idea!
I like this type of videos!!! Thankssss
So glad to hear that!
I remember doing a gig with one of my professors and he had us trade 8s over the blues. It was a mental workout trying to stay with the form.
Ohh that’s tricky!
This couldn't have come at a better time. Recently, I've been motivated to really get better at my saxophone playing in general. I'm definitely interested in giving this a shot!
That’s great timing! Have fun with it!
Really great lesson. Many thanks
You’re very welcome 🙏
Was thinking during the playing in unison parts of what the second chair does in a sax quartet. Supporting elements.
Brilliant concept and terrific improvisation on this video. Thank you! Can’t wait to try it. Other tunes? “Nice Work If You Can Get It” comes to mind from Jazz at the Philharmonic concerts.
Thanks so much!
This is great, Dave! I also would like to try and transcribe what YOU are playing! I feel like that is my greatest area of improvement, the aural side of things. Thank you!
sounds gooooddd
🙏
This is way cool
🤘
I think for ideas on additional tunes, blues in different keys along with Bird Blues would be great! Of course, the "standards" like Autumn Leaves, Recorda Me, and Blue Bossa would work well also. Thank you, Dave!
You’re welcome!
+1 for bird blues!
Great idea ! I'd like "Begin the Begin" by Cole Poter ! Cheers !
Awesome!
We need a #wrongnotesonly trades on Passion Dance..... 😂
👀👀👀
Nice video man! What do you use to make backing tracks? Would be nice to not have to use irealpro anymore >.
It’s irealpro 😂
@@DavePollack omfg of course I said that lol. I need to look up how to export that stuff. Thanks!
Edit: now that I'm looking into it at a deeper level, ireal actually has some good practice tools outside what I was using it for. 👍
When are u gonna do another subscriber jam session
Possibly soon!

This is not easy. Just to use blues scale or chord tones only and make a god piece of music.
