The names of the chips are codenames associated to custom chip versions, I'll guess. It's like the naming on Amiga computers (Denise, Gary, Buster, Gayle, Lisa, etc.)...

Fichte means Spruce, and Appel means Appeal. I hope this helps. It's just a company name like ASMedia or Realtek or Intel and so on.

So, were you able to reuse the customer mother board or did you just go straight to the donor board in case there was something else wrong with the customer fob?

"Fichte" is a kind of tree 🌲"Spruce" or in my language "Spar"
"Weide" means meadow and "Apfel" is apple. It sounds more like code-names, not company names.
Fichte means pine tree. Your close to pronouncing it right, pretty good for someone not speaking german.
Fichte is the german word for spruce, a tree, but not that kind of tree where you would find apples (Apfel) on.

Due to the lack of audio, I wanted to summarize as I see it. I assume that the Fichte/Apfel chips contain the configuration information for the particular vehicle. You removed the Fichte chip from the donor board czcams.com/video/ywt3b9ICm2A/video.html and did not use it since it was for a different car. You removed the Apfel chip from the customer's fob czcams.com/video/ywt3b9ICm2A/video.html, fixed the torn pad, and soldered it back to the donor board. Correct?

Those chip names are german tree names and Fichte is a pine tree or spruce tree.

Insane the amount of money these car manufacturers charge for a new fob. Absolute con. And crazy that they're now making something that gets dropped and knocked around a lot with BGA chips now. I suspect you're going to get a LOT more of these in future.
The moral of the story is that if your Benz fob goes bad send it to Alex, not Mercedes Benz
