Hey Nick, I wonder why you used the path effects even though I see everything could be done in same way if you had not used the path effects or am I missing something here?
Thanks man, well appreciated!
@@ShomeAvi i wonder the same
4 years after this tutorial was made and it helped me with exactly what I was looking to do… this channel is full of super useful gems!!
12:59 that was awesome, I didn't see it coming. Man, these tutorials are full of gems, thanks for the effort of putting them together.
DUDE! These tutorials are so fantastic! Perfectly narrated, and actually explaining everything you're doing while you're doing it. And dropping in smaller fundamental tips like the key combo for undo!
just wanted to tell you that I became a logo designer since a year using almost exclusively inkscape and you been a huge part of my learning process. Thanks to you I have a job that I loved and that's a lot thanks to you. thank you Nick. from the bottom of my heart
Just wanted to say, Thank you for taking the time to put together these amazing tutorials.
You do a fantastic job making Inkscape fun and easier to use. Thanks Again.
I really appreciate that you are using Inkscape and GIMP, showing the power of these Open Source Software tools is great and the results are fantastic. I need to create a logo, and have been binge watching your content.
I'm new to Inkscape but I use your Gimp tutorials all the time. Anyway, I was just about to give up on the app because I couldn't get anything I was trying to do to work properly, but then I watched this video, and it solved most of my problems with ir. Thank you. You and your tutorials are awesome.
Great tutorial, thanks for putting this together. I'd recommend this one to anyone who wants to learn just about every path function in one project. You have to pause a lot to keep up, but it's worth it.
Love having your video on while I design, not just for the information but also the inspiration that comes from your tutorials. Thanks man!
Thanks for the outstanding tutorial series, they demonstrate both the functionality available and how to be creative with what's there!
My wife and I just started a small business together. With the help of your tutorials I'm able to do so much design work.
I was just using Canva before, but now I'm using Inkscape on almost a daily basis. I've designed the logo, ads for Instagram, and even a print ad using Inkscape. Thanks a lot Nick!
Glad to hear that! Good luck with the business.
Well done. I really admire your work and skills. I love these tutorials.
You're doing fantastic work teaching Inkscape. I've been using it for many years so I don't see much new things here, but aim going to definitely recommend your channel to everyone who wants to.learn Inkscape! Thank you :)
As someone brand new to Inkscape I have to pause and rewind a lot to keep up BUT you my man are a legend in your field. I have watched a bunch of your tutorials for this software and you have unlocked the potential exponentially. Thank you so so much!
I appreciate that! Everyone learns at different speeds. If it helps, try slowing the video down (there's settings for that under the gear icon.)
thank you nick for all inkscape tutorials you make, im gonna watch it all
I've just had to pause this real quick to leave this comment. Yet another excellent, easy to follow tutorial. I'm learning alot. Thank you so much for making these videos.
Amazingly produced tutorial! Thank you for the concise info.
OMG I have been using your vids to train on this program. it is by far the best thing i have ever used thank you so much.
Nick thanks for your tutorial, in addition to your skill set, your voice is so good and mesmerizing
Was waiting for your video. Thanks! You are just awesome, Nick!! 🙏☺
Thanks for the good work, your designs are totally out of this world.
Hi, Nick. You are the best. Thanks for all the videos. Watching it one after the other.
Gotta say, great work very explanatory in the tutorial BUT it was so fast! Dont know how many times I had to pause and go back! Thank you though nick!
I am following your channel maybe for less than one week. Big congrats! High level tutorials and a wonderful channel indeed! I am for years an Adobe user but it would be very stupid from my side to do not admit the power of Inkskape and also GIMP..Long story short: BRAVO! ❤
This was so incredibly helpful. This tutorial is perfect, thank you so much!
I like see all the little steps/techniques that you put into the videos.
alway waiting for your newest tuts. thanks nick!
amazing work bro
Thanks Nick for doing the videos and teaching us
I love these tutorials, I've learned so much :)
I don’t know what I like the most, the intro song or the content. Subbed 😎🍻
Thanks for the Awesome video!!! I am a New Fan for your tutorials....For a Beginner you are the right Master!!!
Fantastic tut Nick!! Thank you very much
Great video.... im from Brazil and i could learn just looking the video. I never use inkscape, but you show me the power of this tool. Congrats e sorry my bad english.
Thanx for the tutorial. It is really pretty nice and easiest way to get over there and make a unique perfect logo with INKSCAPE software
I like this technique as it's better than using the Envelope Distort to warp the entire word at one time. Your way of warping it letter by letter is much better. Illustrator has the easier warp functions like Arc Lower, but for an artist like myself working from home by night, using Linux, this knowledge will help me solve this issue of creating warped Text, instead of getting frustrated with the unreliability of some Inkscape plugins.
Thanks a bunch for the videos. I have learned from them. Keep up the great work!
Phew - I tried to follow along every step of the way. You talk pretty fast at times and at times it was hard to see/know what keys or icons you were referring to because they're very small on the screen. Also, it was a bit tough because my icons are not always in the same place you clicked, BUT I powered through. I had to watch and rewind some parts a dozen times, but I finally created this logo! I' m pretty happy about that. Now I have to practice until those many, many, many, many steps become a natural and logical process. Insane the way you have to literally think about and create every aspect. One appreciates ease of things like "word art" and "add text to shape" functions so much more when you don't have to do it so technically and manually. I'm mentally exhausted. But smiling. Thanks so much for the tutorials! I really like the way you think logocally - can't imagne how many thousands of hours you had to log with this software for it to become as native and easy to you as it is.
Great tutorial!! Thank you I learnt so much!
Great tutorial Nick! Just wanted to toss in this tidbit with hope that it may help others.
I tried this with a word that had a "Q" in it, and when I did "path+intersection" of course it cut off the descender. So I just changed the box shape to include the descender (_before_ "path+intersect") and then it worked just fine. I'd guess it would work the same way for fonts that have ascenders too.
respect!!! Very good Step by Step Tut, helped me so well ! Thanks man!
hello, in Illustrator is one comand like "Flow into form", there is in more dynamic, there are some extension for Inkscape! Great Videos!
Thank you for the awesome tutorial!
Thanks a lot for this. Please keep them coming
Hi Nick!
you hv great content!!i followed step by step the tutorial using inkscape 0.91 but the perspective/enveloppe option in path effect doean't exist in my version. What to do?i am stuck!
Oh wow, just literally started watching, but I can already tell I am going to like this. I guarantee it. Haha
Awesome work, sir.
God bless. :)
Thanks!
amen ... Jesus is comming ...Repent and believe the Gospel
I am using inkscape 1.2.1 and stroke to path > ungroup > break apart does work perfect
Superb, Thanks Nick
This helped SO much! thanks
Hey Nick, not sure if you know about this little trick for Alignment tools and the Edit objects to open when you open inkscape. You can add many more options to load when you open inkscape, here is an example that I use: -> "C:\Program Files (x86)\Inkscape\inkscape.exe" --verb DialogAlignDistribute --verb DialogFillStroke --verb Zoom1:1
Add the switched your your shortcut link to inkscape. and BAMM all setup from load. Hope that helps others.
Thanks Noah. I manually set the document up in each video in case there's first-time users watching.
phenomenal work
YOUR THE MAN NICK
I LOVE YOU
Hi Nick, amazing video. Can't seem to find that perspective/envelope on mac though? Do you know anything about why?
hey Nick - love the videos! One suggestion/request - could you occasionally show us your layers? With all the duplicating and converting of objects to paths, it's kind of hard to keep track of how many paths/objects/layers you have and it would be super helpful to see your layer stack. I have so many duplicates that I end up unsure of which object/path/shape is serving which purpose and how they should be arranged top to bottom.
YEAH figure it out now i made it keeping up with the updates thanks and appreciate it man
Love your videos! Thank you!
best logo design tutorial ever
Hi Nick. Great series! Thanks for all the help. I was wondering how you dock both your "Align and distribute objects" and "edit objects colors and gradients" boxes to the right side of your page? When I select both those boxes, the dialogues come up free floating. Thank you.
Thank you so much bro keep doing this !
great! As always! You're the best!
Thats crazy awesome. Thx for the tutorial bro
Glad to help
Hahah i love this
Thanks a lot man! you saved my day!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Nick
Many thanks for your tutorial. I am new in Inkscape. One request that your tool bar is often invisible for black blackground. So, please lets see this aspect.
Really good logo ! bravo
Nick, make a video tutorial teaching to do the theme and these icons, I did not understand anything of the jonny tutorial, please
So impressive. Thank you
Thanks Nick!
Nick, you're a brilliant designer. This was overly complicated. I make a cirlce or oval under the letters, and use the path tool to bring the bottom edge of every letter straight down onto it. So much time saved. :-D
Its not overly complicated. Its warranted. What you suggest would cause the individual letters SEVERELY disproportionate to its original scale.
Thx man, your videos are great :)
Hey nick, really cool video, but can you show us how you made the background of the text, I really wanna do something similar for my logo. Thanks :-)
Great tutorial! 👍🏿
Thanks for all your videos! A curiosity question for you and I realize this could just be a personal preference sort of thing. Is there a reason you changed spacing between letters by dragging after the text was converted to path and ungrouped instead of using the spacing between letters adjustment while it was still text and then doing the conversion to path and ungrouping?
Thank you for your valuable video!
Yep, amazing!
I'm a fan of your work and tutorial. Is there a way of inserting a picture into the logo you are creating?
perfect tutorial ♥
Hi, nick
My inkscape doesn't have even a single path effect. how can I enable these effects?
Thanks
had a few errors but ended up doing entirely different but efficient work think is because the update version of this video is old and the latest update changed a lot
Nick this is great. Its funny in a good way when you say your going to do something a certain way, the you say that looks pretty good. It looks bad ass and you say it looks pretty good. 😆 🤣 😂 😹. Great work
Great video! Thank you
thanks dude it was very helpful!
Pls can you make a video on how you get your ideas for logos
Am having a block right now
im still a starter and some of the keys like when i want to make the square size same as the text it doesnt want to load
Hey Nick, awesome channel and tutorial. I followed this tut using a word that began with a G and ended with an A. When I add the first sets of strokes, I lose alignment in the lower points. They are no longer aligned. The right point of the A ends up lower than the G. I understand why, just wondering if there is a solution?
Finally found a solution! Thank you!
very good video, nice presentation, but is there any templates for a directly typing letter in the predefined template?
Thanks for the video dude .
Quick question for anyone.... when I recolor my writing in white , it still looks transparent and it's not proper white. any ideas?
Couldn't you use a single path effect for envelope deformation on all letters at once?
Thanks for the help but there is something a bit different in 2021 when you set "path to object" then "break apart" it didn't work on the updated version that I got I had to go to "path to object" then "ungroup" for some reason that worked and not "break apart" it's weird but let me know if you experienced this also
Great video. I was never able to fully duplicate the logo, although I got close. You were going way too fast toward the end for those of us who are newbies, even after rewinding several times. Couldn't quite get that final outline. And how did you make the entire word inkscape turn white? I had to do each letter individually. But thanks for the videos. I'll keep trying.
some great videos!!
Great works Nick. Your tutorials greatly improved my skills.
I know this was 3 years ago but is there an easier way? I have the new version of Inkscape. Also Can this be done in Gimp?
Thank you!!
Can this be done on GIMP? I want "Yultzy" in this font and style
When you make the green boxes you could just paste the width of the letters.
