  • In this video we look at the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited finished in Onyx Black with the Gray Leather interior. The Sonata trims have been consolidated but removing the base SE, SEL Plus, and Limited (gas variant). If you want a fully loaded Sonata, you have to go with the Hybrid Limited. With this refresh, many aspects are updated including the exterior and interior styling, technology, and materials. Even with all of the updates, pricing remains nearly identical to 2023 which makes the Sonata stand out against the competition. Let me know what you think of the Sonata Hybrid in the comments below!

      673.2 miles for the 2024 SEL & Limited trim on 17in wheels.
      712 miles for the discontinued Blue trim on 16in wheels.
      Regular Sonata get larger fuel tank standard on all trims, but it comes with the larger 17in wheel. To get the most range out of the Sonata, buy the prefreshed Sonata 16in wheels.

    I got mine about a month ago. I drive around 32-35k miles per year and this car has been great so far. It is very good but I would’ve been happy to pay a thousand more in order to get one touch windows in back, power folding mirrors, heated rear seats, a vanity mirror that automatically lights up, and rear door unlock sensors.
    Personally I think they should swap the steering wheel controls so the cruise control/menu display is on the right side but that’s just personal preference.
    I think they might leave some of these off to have people look at the Genesis sedans but it would be almost a perfect car if it had these options.
    Overall, it is a fantastic car for the money and I routinely see 50+ mpg on any sort of trip I take with mixed city/highway driving.

    I wish the Limited came with a N-Line package that would include the N-Line powertrain, wheels and quad exhaust or an N-Line with a Limited package that has all the bells and whistles that come in the Limited. I had a 2015 Sonata Limited Sport in that beautiful orange color that had the 2.0T, quad exhaust and all the bells and whistles. It was an N-Line/Limited of those times. Would even be nice to be able to special order one in that configuration. Wishful thinking.

    • @Aaronduhmoron
      @Aaronduhmoron Před 4 měsíci +2

      @@GLSmith1013yep it's odd to me that Kia offers more. For example, the K5 GT-Line has an option for AWD as well as the premium package which grants the panoramic sunroof AND heated steering wheel. You can't get get both on the new Sonata. It's nice that they offer AWD now but only in SEL trim which won't have pano sunroof or leather seats.

    • @GLSmith1013
      @GLSmith1013 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@Aaronduhmoron Yes I agree. Kia does offer more and right why only offer AWD on the SEL base, not even the SEL with convenience package. Maybe Hyundai has some type of logic for offering more on their Kia K5 over the Sonata. Some small things that Kia doesn't offer was the push button gear shifter or now what Hyundai has is the little stick column shifter but I kinda prefer the old school gear shifter that Kia offers anyway.

    Love the 2016 Sonata I have, but it's frustrating the way Hyundai stacks certain options only on the hybrid. For instance, the heated steering wheel. I have it on my Sport Tech and once you have it it's difficult to give up in winter. Same with the ventilated seats, again only on the hybrid. In dash side monitor cameras, only on the hybrid. And the kicker? As of now, the hybrid version isn't available in Canada. Very disappointing.

    To all of you that are contemplating buying a Hybrid Limited version, be aware that the passenger seat adjustments do NOT include a height adjustment, which is a deal-killer for me. I loved everything about this new version (I own a 2013 Hybrid Limited), but the oversight in not providing any type of passenger seat height adjustment, prevented me from buying this car. Very disappointed indeed - as even the SEL version had a passenger seat height adjustment but not for the Limited? What is Hyundai thinking? My 2013 Sonata also doesn't have a passenger seat height adjustment which stopped my wife from being comfortable riding as a passenger. After 11 years I would have thought this brand new redesign would have fixed this flaw, but no it's the same low seating position where you can't even put your arm on the door window sill. Shame on Hyundai for not including this feature on a $40K top of the line model car.

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Před 4 měsíci

      Unfortunately, I do not have a vehicle to test right now but Hyundai says this is a 6-way power passenger seat. Which other direction does the seat move? The SEL Hybrid has a 4-way seat.

    • @SpaceArk.LAsoul
      @SpaceArk.LAsoul Před 3 měsíci

      To confirm the post above about the passenger seat, while some of the literature says 6-way power passenger seat, I purchased the 2024 Hybrid Limited and it does NOT have a seat height adjustment for the passenger side, just 4-way power to change front-back position and angle of seat back. The 2024 SEL has a manual height adjustment lever for the passenger seat.

    • @dfyorkie
      @dfyorkie Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for pointing out there is no height adjustment. That may be a deal killer for us also. About as dumb as the N- line with lots of extra features with no power passenger seat adjustments at all and unbelievably no rear hvac vents!

  • @matthewbecker6553
    @matthewbecker6553 Před 4 měsíci

    Strange that HDA is not listed on the window sticker. Or Lane Change Assist. Or lane keep / lane follow. Or smart cruise control.
    I'm flabbergasted that my 2024 Tucson PHEV limited does not have the wireless AA. This makes the wireless charging station utterly useless. There is no reason why a car should have wireless charging but no wireless AA. And I have serious doubts whether they can fix that with an over-the-air update. This feels intuitively to be a hardware issue rather than software that can be updated. Nice to see the Sonata gets both of these features paired together. But since it was obviously AVAILABLE tech to Hyundai, why the heck is it not in ALL 2024 limiteds?
    Hyundai needs to have its tech features be more standardized across same trim / different models. If I am going "limited" trim for a given year, the features available should mostly be the same for Elantra, Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe, and Palisade. I get it that there will be some minor differences in what is on sedan models vs SUV models, and obviously there would be differences between years as the tech upgrades happen. But there really should be consistency between various trims.
    As a final aside... I really wish that Hyundai would do a PHEV of the Sonata and/or Elantra. PHEV might be more difficult in the smaller space constraints of a sedan, but currently for a PHEV sedan shopper, the ONLY available option I am aware of is the Prius Prime. Someone needs to compete for that market segment.
