Hey, besides the foot-inch conversion, the native calc apps on phone does the addition feature. Just and fiy, if anyone doesnt mind doing the conversion they dont need to pay. Also tou can always ask google/siri to convert m/ft/inches etc

Good video. Can you make a few more videos on other uses?

Much easer to stick to marked increments on the tape measure. Unless you have a deck 39 inch long.

    It's close, but not perfect.
If 37 1/2" is the outside dimension. Then you have to subtract the thickness of your material. Or measure from the outside of the first joist to the inside of the last joist.
Assuming your lumber is 1 1/2". Then you figure based off 36"
Which would make the layout 12".
If you base it off 37 1/2 (don't subtract the thickness of your material) then the first 2 bays are 11" between joist and the last is only 9 1/2".
But based off 36" you have 10 1/2 between every joist.
    Love the channel 👍

levelseven I did subtract the thickness of the last joist. I guess I forgot to mention that?

Anytime you're laying out joist, post, or anything you're trying to center up,
Measure from the "outside" of the first to the "inside" of the last, then use that measurement to calculate the spacing of the rest

I just bought the actual calculator on ebay for about the price of the App. I don't like using my phone for this type of stuff. I prefer actual buttons and the durability of the calculator. If I drop it off of the roof it's not so bad.
