- There is a lot out there on the 10 speed auto Mustang's but no one really talks much about the manual mustang GT so I decided to cover this topic and tell you why the MT 82 isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be in the 2018-2019 model year Mustangs. Find out what features make the 2019 Mustang GT one of the EASIEST cars to drive!

You truly inspire me to work hard and to own a mustang one day
You can do it man trust me im 18 i work every single day and i commited and pulled the trigger on buying my coyote and its a dream come true if i can do it you can do it because I came from nothing
McChEeZeGrAdEr how much do you pay for insurance?
@@joseruiz7614 250 a month if you go i go on my mothers insurance it cuts the cost in half
Totally do it, bro! Bought my 2012 a few months ago and I'm 19! Follow your dreams!
Same here... that sound is awesome
I like that you drive a manual. I hope manual never dies ,but I fear that it will.
Nah fam.
i started learning manual and lets say starting in the hill is hard asf LOL
@@mitch2456 handbrake does wonders😄
It will. They are making less of them every year. It sucks.
nah it won’t, unless they make a 10 speed manual😂😂
Those 5.0 always get my attention whenever they start up or drive by. It is an excellent symphony of the raw American V8. Music to my ears
I totally agree, the Mustang and manual were meant for each other. That's what makes it so much fun 😉👍
My wife has been trying to learn, and I keep telling her my 19GT is way easier than the 92 jeep I learned on.
Fr😂 I learned stick In my dad’s 2007 fj cruiser. It’s 4500 pounds and has horrible blind spots but I love it😂
@@coolstuff9125 right???? Eventually shell learn, and look back wondering why she was confused.
I have a manual 2019 GT with After Market exhaust and I agree with you 100%. Been driving stick shifts since I was 16....so much more rewarding
I was looking this up today and couldn’t find a definite answer. You read my mind with this upload lmao. You explained everything I wanted to know
This video was very encouraging Rush. I purchased a 2019 Mustang Bullitt about a month ago and it’s my first manual transmission. It’s a great driving experience and I’m sorry I didn’t buy one sooner. Keep up the awesome work.
Hows the manual been?
Have you gotten gear grind from 2nd to 3rd with high revs?
Still going strong???
Cars have surely come a long way since I learned manual shifting on my first car... 1989 Honda Accord... that car was amazing!
I sure hope so... want a manual Mustang to be my first car. Love the vids man. Keep it up.
My 13 MT-82 was rock solid for the 6 years I owned it.......and I learned how to drive stick on it as well lol.
Held up great!
Just got my 2021 GT as my first manual and the learning curve is still steep but it’s def easier than I imagined bc of all these features
Just a note on the hillstart assist, it only holds the brakes for about 1-2 seconds or until the engine has enough power to move the car. Whichever comes first. But if you stall. You can still roll into the person behind you.
My Mustang is manual, I don’t have an issue with hill starts anymore. But that 1-2 seconds can sometimes not be enough for a person brand new to manual.
For myself, i just would rather not risk it and pull the e brake, soon as i feel the tug, release e brake, more gas
@@Cosmic_Deity yeah practice ebrake starts with hill assist off until you get comfortable.
I wish i had known this about the manuals before i got my 10 speed 2019 GT. Thanks for the video! Subscribed.
never thought id do it, but i definitely am switching from the scat to a mustang 6 spd. idc bout being fast, the manuals are just fun to experience for the first time 🤙 working to get mine right now
Great video. Giving valuable information about the 6 sp manual. I am getting mine in Australia next month. So happy after a long wait. 6 sp manual, of course.
You did an excellent job with this video! You also explained the options well!
Your video is the video I’ve been waiting for, I’ve heard nothing but negative stuff on the MT-82,
I couldn’t find any info on 2019-2020 manual transmission, this well help to make better decision
I agree rev match is great for new drivers, but rev matching myself is easily way more fun👌🏼
Your the lorax of the 2019 manual Gt😂😂 “i speak for the new manual mustangs” awesome man keep it up #savethemanuals
Appreciate the video ! Those are definetly Things that would help someone who is looking to purchase their first Manual !
Yupp. I drove manual cars in my life in India. Last 8 years I'm driving Beemer Automatic 535i
I am 60 years old and I still like the hill side assist in my Mustang.
I've never seen that rev match feature before, glad I saw this!
Another sick video, very informative also. Keep grinding.
Super informative video 🔥🔥👍🙏 keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great opening cut scene transitions man
Hi Rush Shift. Like your videos on the Mustang and Challenger. I was wondering what day you think of old school Hot Rod and muscle Cars. Can you please make a video on your favorite Hot Rod and muscle car. Thank you and keep making awesome videos.
I did not know Ford added these technology features in the new manual. Your right, nothing like driving a manual V8 Stang. Ride sounds good !
I know there's plenty of "How To" videos on driving manual, but can you make one? You're really good at explaining things so I think a lot of people would understand it better if you explained it
Paul Pak agreed. thatd be great
Good info video on the mustang features. I’m old school on driving a manual on hills. Never had a problem. Driving cars or trucks on hills. I have 07 GT with 5 sod.
Spd
I hope to have a mustang as clean as yours once I finish college 🤞🏼🤞🏼🐐
Good for you for getting a manual transmission. It makes driving way more fun in my opinion
This is an amazing video! Videos like this are what makes me want to buy a manual. Seeing as how so much technology has gone into the development of modern manual transmissions, they are not as hard to drive as they used to be. Also considering that mustang has a lot of power, the car rolls alot easier and you can get into gear alot quicker.
Good to know that the 2019 has hill start assist. This was one of my concerns if I got the one even though I used to drive a manual some time ago. The hype around the ten speed being faster is making it difficult to make a final decision.
Agreed
As some with a 2020 Subaru WRX some buying a manual GT, or GT 350.. get the manual. Pretty sure you can get tuned to walk A10s pretty easily, but if if you couldn’t.. the manual is just different. Hella engaging vs auto , on top of them being extremely rare these days, at least in the states
As a wise man once said “If you can’t find it, grind it.” Seems to work alright for me when I’m learning it, my transmission on the other hand 😬.
Ur videos are dope. Most Underrated CZcamsd
Nice video! A lot of things to learn epecialy for beginners !
"ive had this car for 2-3 months and I put a lot of miles on it, 3000 miles" Uber drivers just shed a tear
I drove one 2018 mustang gt, it was a stick shift. Cool lil ting, I think the key aspects are the clutch and shifter. I drove a older GT, and those clutches (stock) are a lil stiff. Its great for learnin how to drive manual doe. Not to mention the newer ones let you kno which gear you're in. I think its a nice touch they add that! 💪🏿 Auto rev match too, LOL!
I love power shifting. If you know what you're doing and have the stops set on the shifter so you won't bend the shift forks you'll be fine. A good aftermarket clutch helps too. I'd say 3rd would be the most common gear missed power shifting but if you've been doing it since 16 years old then you don't miss a gear anymore. I havent missed a gear in probably 20 years
Notice the cup holders on the S550, go ahead put two medium soda drinks in them and go for a drive your shifting hand will not feel interrupted in any way, whereas in the S197 chassis because the cup holders where directly under the shifter you could not shift the car at all. The biggest improvement they did for manual drivers on the s550 was moving the cup holders in a way where you can use them and still shift the car as if they were empty.
It's funny you say that because I have a 2011 gt500 and recently I bought a 2015 gt (still have the gt500 too) but the first thing I noticed getting in the 15 was the cupholder not being in the way of my shifting haha
I think the true fun is knowing how to revmatch yourself. More and more work, machines does for human. In my opinion whole point of manual transmission is in its name . “Manual” is a manual. Glad you can turn it off. But nice video and the car man, good job.
Do you prefer your mustang over the challenger? I just bought the 2019 PP1 just curious.
Your intro made me decide to get a manual over an automatic.
I always rev matched in my Subaru when down shifting, it was a lot of fun but also less jerky on the car and passengers, also easier on the transmission. Getting ready to buy a mustang gt, good to know the this is an option, thanks! My first car was a 1984 Honda Accord 5 speed, now that I’m 48, I still enjoy driving manuals.
Which Subaru bro? I have a 2020 wrx.. transmission rebuild after waiting 3 months.. and after 1 month, freakin misfire AGAIN 😂 I’m getting a Stang too
@@diabeticnova2636 it was a 2016 WRX decent amount of bolt-ons and a custom tune, 300whp, 6 speed manual, I daily drove it for almost 4 years, never had any problems at all, just a couple or recalls. I have a ‘22 Mustang gt now, love it so far.
Great video. Very informative
How are you? Did you purchase the perch kit along with the spring? Or only the spring?
Thanks for sharing but you were talking over that beautiful rev match blip of the throttle lol.
I agree the auto rev match is nice but I rev match normally without thinking so I feel it’s just better to learn how to revmatch
Oh my oh my, that rich sound ....., @ 0:27
Wow bro ... thanks I think I might trade in my 10 speed for a manual :) looks way more fun and challenging
Do you have an original exhaust? It sounds great!
Does the 2019 Mustang GT have the no life shift feature ? I keep hearing it does and then I hear it doesn’t that you need a tune which is true ? Can’t really find a definitive answer online.
Where did you purchase the shift knob? Good video
Link to the weighted shift knob please...
Did u say it was race stang?
steeda clutch spring, do you have a part #. Pls don't forget to let me know of the place where you bought the shift knob. Many Thanks
Gorgeous car man! 👍 I would love to own one one day
Hello, I see that you are using a weighted shift knob by Raceseng. I purchased their weighted knob and lockout collar for my S550. Above 6K rpm my lockout collar vibrates and rattles. Have you experienced this and if so were you able to fix it?
Is that a stock shifter ur gearing so smooth when you change gears??
What car should I get for my first car my budget is 15,000 and the year I'm going for is between 2010-2015
That startup..... OMG!
I happen to have a 2018 GT with a PP1 on it... I think the MT82 is a horrible transmission, but I feel like your changes with the clutch spring and shift knob have helped it quite a bit from it's stock form? I've only driven 3 cars with a manual transmission and my favorite one is on a 2019 Fiesta ST that I have. To each their own for sure. Mine is 100% stock and I feel like I can either drive it "decently hard" on the streets and be smooth, or if I try and go all out.... it's a disaster.
Keep up the good vids
Does it have any type of anti stall?or is the car easy to stall when pulling out?
The rev hang is just the revs hanging cause the engine is burning the extra fuel still. It’s an emissions thing. My Jetta does the same thing
Is rev match only in Gt? I test drove an eco boost and I couldn't find the option
I've been driving a 1972 Volkswagen Beetle with a 4 speed and its been the easiest manual I've ever driven. I have a hard time driving newer ones and I'm not sure why. So I drive a newer automatic and an older manual. But this Mustang is making me want a manual.
I've selling my 2019er GT because the 10speed is so scary and bad. I'm not happy with my 10speed car and i ordered now a GT with MT. I wish I had seen your videos before. The 8G ZF from Dodge is a great transmission vs the ugly noisy Ford 10G. Now I'm looking forward to getting my new 2019er MT in view weeks and your videos helping my over the time.. Greetings from Germany
Easiest to drive a manual as beginner is a torque y4 cylinder non turbo diesel. Drove an old Toyota Hiace with a 3.0 no problem starting on uphill to feel to bite or starting on 2nd gear on flat. You can put 1st gear and release the clutch, it won't kill the engine.
my cammed 08 hurst stage 2 clutch feels like im driving a tank
No offense but my truck as soon I left off throttle goes straight to idle and slows down, 2.3 duratec m5odR1 tuned for econemy
Are those seats stock? I've never seen a gt with red leather seats
Which exhaust do you have if you do not mind me asking
Nice video my friend 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great perspective on the manual! I’ve been looking into a S550 for a while and considering auto but I know I’d miss shifting my own gears.
So what you’re saying is my 17 wont automatically rev match my downshift? Wow
MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO DRIVE STICK SHIFT !!!!!!
What type of exhaust did you put on it?
How can I get auto rev matching on my 18 gt
Is the rev match option only for 2019?
I would love to try driving one of these, i have a 16 RT Challenger with a 6-speed manual with a heavy clutch so I wonder how it compares to this
I also drive an R/T. The 5.0 is faster with a lighter clutch.
What are the specs for those tires and wheels ?
We need some videos of just driving a manual. No talking, no music, no cuts, no edits. Just to see what it's like
Do all 18 19 mustangs have this rev match
Great video
Ive driven everything and the best shifter I’ve even encountered was in a Honda Civic SI.
Nice!
Are cars louder if theyre manual transmission 🤔
You have the stock exhaust system ?!
i have the same car/year, I'm about a week away from buying a whipple kit!
Nice video
how do u deal with having a black car
Respect 🙏brah...
What exhaust setup do u have
I drove a 2018 manual Zl1 that was really easy. It was my first time driving manual lol
Very informative Videyo
The best way is to side step the clutch
Is that a Borla Exhaust I hear?
I’m definitely learning manual when I turn 16. Probs not right away but I really want to.
Main thing is to just keep trying its going to be embarrassing at first stalling at lights and people being behind you and stuff but i got used to it after just a day
Learn now the younger the better
5.9Aaron I guess I could just watch videos cause I don’t have a manual car and I can’t drive yet.
5.9Aaron maybe I could buy a steering wheel and shifter for some car simulator, lol.
SS,GT or Scat?
I have a 2019 gt, how do you get the gage cluster to show the rev “thing” at the top of your cluster?
Put it in sport mode, or go to settings and you can make your gauge cluster stay one way regardless of the car mode
