i love how your trainer actually waits until your ready to let you canter!
Yup! I can say I felt very prepared for it when the time came ☺️
So exciting, that's a really great accomplishment!
Thank you so much 😍 it’s the best feeling ever
@@RidewithClarait really is the best feeling my favorite place is on my horse either cantering or my absolute fav thing to do, cantering jumps!
So refreshing to hear how you talk about horses, and how attentive to detail you are! This is the first video I've seen of you, but you seem like a fantastic rider. The clips you showed of you posting in the mirror look great! Such a good trainer to make you master one gait before moving to the next, and all the exercises you were doing will help so much with balance! You earned a new subscriber!!
Thank you sooo much! 🥰 yes, she really is a great trainer and wants us to be as prepared as possible in order to succeed!
I never learned in a lung line but it’s helpful I’m so ha-py for you what a great accomplishment I love seeing beginners grow I’m 15 and have been riding since 5 and I love seeing beginners grown in there riding 😊😊😊 8:17
From what I’ve heard it sounds like it depends on the trainer whether you start on the lunge line or not!!! Super brave for those who don’t ☺️ thank you so much!!! 💕💕💕
I never learned on the lunge line either but whether u do or u don't u looked really good at riding
What do you mean your 15 you didn’t even use the right their it’s their not there so your like 10
I learnt with someone holding a lead rein running next to me and then eventually had someone running next to me without a lead rein until I wanted to canter by myself
@@Ameliathehorsegirl*it’s called a mistake*
It was great that you caught that daisies tack was off and I was great to see fit it because it be uncomfortable for them and can make them mad! And your canter was amazing!❤❤❤
Thank yoouu, Daisy’s comfort always comes first ! 🥰
your trainer is amazing! i love how she makes sure you are prepared to canter on your own. also i love how you untacked your horse to make sure shes really comfortable because thats really important. cantering on your own is so exciting and a big accomplishment! once you start jumping it feels really smooth and i think you'll love it! you're an amazing rider so keep up the great work and im sure you'll be an amazing equestrian! new sub!
Omg thank you so much!!! 😍 yess I can’t wait to jump!! It’s going to be so much fun, I’m finally starting to feel super comfortable cantering
@@RidewithClara ofc! cantering is really smooth and i actually love the feel of it. honestly i like it better than trotting bc i feel more connected to the horse but i feel like its something that is only enjoyable once you get the hang of it otherwise its kinda scary lol! and jumping is the same, honestly it feels like flying! anyways im glad youre feeling more comfortable, keep up the amazing work! i cant wait for another video!
I love how genuinely you love this sport, coming from someone who has done it since I was 6 and got burnt out, and is slowly getting back into it, it makes me sooo happy.
I just did my first canter off the lunge line today! I love it so much!
Well done! Eventhough I’m a stranger I’m still proud of you!
@@P-i-p-p-a-M-a-y thank you so much!
omg this brings me back to learning in group lessons as a teen ❤ i love your trainer, these exercises are awesome! definitely going to do some of these fun things with my young horse. this is an AWESOME foundation. congrats on the canter and i love to see how excited you are about the process!
Thank you sooo much!! 😍
You look so good! I can’t wait to see you grow as a a rider! 😊❤
Thank you so much!! 😍❤️
I am so glad you fixed the tack! You were right, it was definitely too far back! I'm really enjoying your videos, keep up the good work :)
Daisy’s comfort is most important!!! Thank you so much, I’m so glad that you’re enjoying them ☺️🥰
That's awesome!! Congrats! You guys look really good together :)
Thank you so much! 😍 Daisy is amazing, it’s such a privilege to ride her
I got to canter off the lunge line recently for the first time too! Congratulations on your achievement! 🎉
YAAYY that’s so exciting ! 😍 go us!!!
You ride so well!! Even tho we could see you canter, only from ur view, i am very sure u did well!! New to this channel and u just got a new sub 🙃💖
Thank yoouu, I appreciate it 🥰🫶🏻
The surprising thing is that I never cantered on lunch line. I’ve always canceled off landline, even when I first started learning how to. but I did very good. Also, great job Clara
It was very entertaining to watch. When I started riding my trainers found out I have a natural talent for it so I got moved up very quickly and was riding with only adults when I was 7 (a year after I started riding). I was off the lunge by then and my trainer would only occasionally tell me what to do now because I have become an advanced rider already. Then I found my baby (ex-race horse - this is important for the story) and I rode him off the lunge immediately. He was very spooky so he ended up throwing me off onto the fence my first canter. I've come to adore him tho and I ride him competitively now in races. I hope you'll get to jumping soon! It's the best thing in the world
That’s so cool!! Thanks so much, I can’t wait 😍
im been riding for two years now and i love cantering and let me just say its even more fun to canter over jumps
I’m so excited to do canter poles and eventually jump 😍
In my 10+ years of riding, i have never cantered on a lunge line. Its a miracle i can sit the gait and jump properly, my trainer wasnt really the best lmfao. You did amazing! ❤
Edit: omg is that a potbelly pig i see-
Wow I’m sure you’re amazing! 😍 thank you so much!! ❤️ omg yes!! He’s the best
@@RidewithClara I wouldn't say I'm amazing, but thanks! And ofc! But omg, when I saw that little face I was about to hop through the screen and vibe with him lol
I feel you TT. I was put to the test for canter a few lessons after I started riding. I was lead on a lunge the first time so I knew what to do. Then they put me on an ex-race horse whose weak side is left cantering and made me canter left. It rained that day and turns out it was scared of puddles. It threw me off onto the fence.
Lesson learned tho: Don't ride an ex-race horse (I would never stop riding my old found baby but it was a very scary experience)
@@suimaroped yikes, thats not fun. Had a similar experience with the puddles one time: I was on a 17hh horse and we were trotting in the dry side of the covered outdoor arena. It wasn't covered all the way tho, so there were small puddles everywhere. He could definitely see the puddles, but I dont think he was properly exposed to them bcs the second he stepped in it he bolted. And that horse, having the roughest gallop ive ever had to sit, I managed to stay on for a couple strides and then fell into a puddle. Fun.
Your trainer seem amazing based off how she wants your leg sturdy and nice before cantering off the lunge trotting is a very important gait and your honesty probably better then me lol, I remember when I first cantered off the lunge it was amazing congratulations 🎉
Yeah she’s really good and has done a great job preparing us for canter! And thank you so much 😍
Your doing amazing! I’d definitely recommend trying to get private lessons, that way the instructor can focus on you the whole time, but if you can’t the normal lessons are perfect. Ps. galloping on the beach is amazing!
Tysm 🥰 some private lessons would be nice!! I might take some in the future if I can!!! Ughhh it’s literally my dreeaaamm 😍
I only do private lesson lol- group lessons scare me 💀 also, the horse/s I ride are taught in Parelli. So we do a lot of ground work, and more bonding with the horse. So even though I’ve been riding since like- 9/10 (I’m currently 15) I still haven’t cantered yet lol. My teacher wants me to perfect my posting trot. My sitting trot is great though lol. 😂 I just started going over trotting poles (at a sitting trot) which is really fun actually!
My posting is great-
My teacher always tells me that…compared to her other students who trot for the first time (posting) they forget everything and just post. Their legs are messed up, hands bouncing, all of it. But with me, I’ll do like- 5 ‘up downs’ but keep my legs in the correct position, heels down, hands correct, elbows slightly bent, all of it. I’m the type of learner to just watch for a long time, before my ‘body’ is ready to do it, and when I do, it’s beautiful’ ( an actual quote from my teacher haha) but I can’t wait for the day when I can post the whole time lmao 😂
you did that so well!😄
Thank you so much!!! 🥹🥰
I'm so happy to see you succeed!! New subscriber Gained! Cant wait to watch your journey!
Thank you so much for following along my journey! 🥰
good job!! THE LITTLE PIGGY IS ADORABLE
Thank you !! His name is Pumba 😍
@@RidewithClara omg awww
@@RidewithClara Aw Pumba? I kept getting distracted by him 🥹 his little tail wagging was just adorable
Funny looking horse there at 7:40 in the bottom right corner 😆
He’s a little different looking but he fits in just fine 😉 haha
That looked super fun! I love how the lesson was focused on lots of different challenges instead of just going in laps of trot. You seemed to have a great first canter off the lunge, how long have you been cantering on the lunge?
It was soooo fun!! 😍 yeah, we focus on lots of different exercises every lesson, it keeps things interesting for us and the horses and it helps us develop different skills ☺️ thank you so much! We’ve been cantering on the lunge line for about 2 and a half months I would say.
@@RidewithClara I think it’s great to spend plenty of time working on the lunge, it may not be as much fun but it allows for a safe controlled environment for the rider to focus on things without having to worry about what the horse is doing.
@@timeless712 I think so too!!! There are some horses at the barn where I wouldn’t feel confident cantering off the lunge line yet, but Daisy is perfect she’s great for learning
Congrats!!❤
Thank you 🥰
I’m an extreme beginner, as in I only walk and trot on the lunge / leadrope so this is helpful to see what it’ll be like my first time.
That’s so exciting!! You’ll be cantering before you know it 🥰
This is why I wanna be a wild horse I’d be living the life
Not at canter yet but my instructor believes in me and is teaching me to be able to get up to it.
Horse I ride is also a sweetheart so that’s a bonus.
We also call it rising trot and we usually do that but sometimes sit (which I’m slightly better at).
You’ll be cantering in no time!! Having a strong sitting trot is a necessary skill to have when learning to canter ☺️
Same though haha 😆 my sitting trot is beautiful! (I’m staying humble of course 💀🫶) but I can only do like 5 “up downs” at the max before I have to go back to a sitting trot
I get to ride on Friday by myself off the lunge line!!!!! ❤
Just one tip when your saddle ect is to far back or forward loosen your girth then just slide it up or down then tighten it again
Thanks so much for the tip! ☺️
I wish I could go here to learn, they’re excellent teachers /gen
Yes it’s a great facility ! ☺️
I’m still not off the lunge line for cantering, I’m happy for you 😊
Don’t worry, you’ll get there before you know it! Keep up the good work 🥰
I’m very impressed by how you noticed the saddle too far back. Good observation!
Thank you ! ☺️
I wish I got started on a lunge line while learning to canter. I just got put on a smooth horse and was told to kiss and kick. Then, someone got to close to me and I got bucked off. This was a week ago by the way xD. Still sore from that lesson.
So cool, congrats
Thanks so much 🥰
Those horses are beautiful
Thank you! They really are gorgeous horses ☺️
looks like an awesome lesson!! if you don't mind me asking, which gopro do you use and is it mounted on your helmet or chest? :o its awesome footage
Thanks so much!! 😍 I use the HERO9 GOPRO and I have a special strap to attach it to my helmet!
Well done 😁 u did great!!
Thank you ! 😍
@@RidewithClara pin me?? Plsss 🙏 🙏 i love ur channel ❤
This is channel and videos is so underrated
Thank you for watching !! 🥰
Any tips for cantering? I’m starting to canter more but i feel like in bouncing all over the place. Ur doing so well!!❤
Thank you so much!!! A nice deep seat, just like sitting trot, and lean back a little bit. Most importantly let the horse’s movement guide your hips! Easier said than done but practise makes perfect ❤️
@@RidewithClara thank u so much!!
From someone who has galloped on the beach... it’s so true, you can’t die without doing it.
It’s my life mission at this point
That's hands down one of the favorite things ever. I'm so blessed to live in Cali relatively close to the coastline ❤
New sub thats so exciting!
Thank you so much 🥰
Np
does anyone know the name of the thing you do when your not riding in a group. Like there are other horses and ponies in the ring but everyone is doing there own thing?
I JUST CANTERED 2 DAYS AGO FOR THE FIRST TIME!!
I physically don’t understand how people post without stirrups 😭🤚
Painfully 😭💀
@@RidewithClara haha 😂 is it really painful? 😅
@@SunooAndHisHourGlassit is one time I did bare back posting and it is so painful
SAME LIKE HOW
I haven’t cantered at all yet but I feel like it’s coming soon bc this lesson im working on trotting diagonal and then my trotting will be finished, rahhh I’m so nervous
cantering is the best feeling everrrr u got this
omg! that horse look like one of the horses at our stables! im talking abt the one at the start btw
Beautiful horse ! 😍 I wanna ride her so bad but she belongs to a boarder aha
@@RidewithClara oh that’s sad! If they met they would prob be best friends lol
The horse I was riding at a stable named Shaw, has similar markings, and color, resembles daisy, what kind of horse is she? except Shaw waas super stubborn in get going, lol.
Omg no way! I wonder if they’re the same breed :) I’m actually not sure what kind of horse Daisy is but I’ll definitely ask next time I’m there! Lol Shaw sounds sweet, Daisy is the complete opposite, she’s super responsive and listens really well. The stubborn ones help build character though! Haha
I ve found you just now and i love ur channel! Im injured with a fractured collarbone from a spicy pony and later this july im starting a channel aswell
Oh no!!! I hope you get better soon 🥰 and yay that’s so exciting!
Ouch. I cant even tell you how many times ive broken my darn collarbone, how you get better soon. Gl on your channel ❤
My first "canter" was when i was trotting for my second time, and i accidentally kicked the horse into canter, i fell off 2 steps in
I am so glad that I found you again. My old channel got deleted because someone hacked into it.
Omg no that sucks!! Glad you have a new channel though 🥰
@@RidewithClarayeah
Nice video.
I don't agree with doing rising trot with no stirrups, so many people get bad habits like gripping with their knees from doing this in riding school. Gripping with the knees makes your position less stable, and it takes a long time to unlearn bad behaviours. I did a lot of no stirrup work when I worked at a riding school, but never rising trot or 2 point seat.
Must be fun to have this memory on video. I can't remember my first canter anymore.
I totally see your perspective! Although for myself, posting trot without stirrups really taught me how to post using the muscles in my leg instead of standing up in my stirrups ☺️ definitely! I’m really happy that I’ll always have this memory
I've wanted riding lessons since when i was 10 years old, now im 16 and im moving out on my own with my twin and i hope we both have money for lessons🐴
You totally should do it!! It’s so worth and literally the highlight of my day 😇
@@RidewithClara Yeah, I used to take lessons sometimes and they went always really badly😮💨 That stable didn't teach, but i think that another stable is better for us
I LOVE YOUR INDOOR
Thank you 😍
I just had my first canter on a lung line for like 5 secs on 9/14. The rest of my lesson my trainer had me do some sitting trots and some no stirrup trots.
❤
You did amazing with your first canter!!
Omg that’s amazing !! Congrats 🥰
thanks!! :)@@RidewithClara
UR POSTING TROP W NO STIRRUPS IS SO GOOD- MY SUCKS
Ommggg thank you, it’s from all the posting trot no stirrup pain my trainer puts us through 😂
I had my first canter ever off the lunge line and I was so suprised I didn’t fall iff
Congratulations!! I’m sure you did great 😍
is that a pig sitting next to ur trainer??? Love ittt
LOL yes, that’s Pumba! The horses aren’t the biggest fan of him but we love him 😂
@@RidewithClara awwww 🥰
I cantered off the lunge line my second lesson, and everybody keeps telling me that’s not normal..
And I’m like … Woopsie..
LOL that’s crazy!! Must have been fun tho!
On the lunge line😂
I have a theory that we’ll be jumping end of December or early next year so we’ll see 😍 awww thank you so much! Means a lot ❤️❤️
remember me when your famous
LOL I’ll remember you no matter what happens!
Your so lucky I hope to see you jump this is the first vid na of yours I watched and I already love you but I have never been able to canter off the lunge line and you done really well
Idk if it’s just me but I HATE no stirrup work and ns jumping
Understand the rhythm of your horse, it’s in a pattern for eg, 1,2..1,2…1,2.. and according to that move you’re hips forward and back and forwards, for eg, 1=forwards 2=back and so on, Also, lean back a bit and heels down. Then your all good!!!
Thanks for the tip!!!
Np!!!
Your beautiful
And new sub
Aw thank you so much 🥹
You: *posting without stirrups*
Me, whos been riding for 6 years and can hardly post with stirrups: WHAT THE HECK-
Actually the saddle was in the right position before you changed it.
To each their own
I mean know th eh lunge line
Is Daisy her horse that she owns
Daisy belongs to my trainer ☺️
the pig? 😂😂
Pumba the pig!!! Hehe
Actually my name is clara😅
are you a beginner,
I guess you could call me beginner/inter at this point ☺️ not quite intermediate rider, not quite beginner aha
istg people cheating on their first canter, first time i did it i fell face first into the floor
OMG that sounds awful 🙈
