Also wonder how will they go with the modularity of it. Custum or cosmetic things in the future? Like electronics, (shout out frame laptop) plug in say a radar module instead of the bumper or a drone module on top to be ur sentry or pathfinder in front or elsewhere

Other markets that use the diesel power plant have the third row. The battery for the hybrid system uses up some extra space.

Seats are so thin in bolstering. My current old Fortuner seats are much thicker and very good bolstering.

@10:34 they fold down but take up space when folded or can tilt up still a bad design id just take them out if I was building a overlander /car camping rig this space lot better than the sequoia TRD PRO

What’s with all that plastic from the rear of the centre console to floor. That is going to get pretty scuffed in no time. Never seen that amount of plastic on any other vehicle in that area. Usually the rear of the centre console is finished vertically to the floor. Why is this so??
I’ve been wondering the same thing and very few people point it out. It also eats up a lot of leg/foot room for the center passenger. My guess is that it has something to do with the hybrid components.
How much trouble is it to add FRONT diff lock?
prolly would add 2k to the asking price then people would complain it cost too much "for a Toyota" like they did with the LC200

I'm keeping my FJ unless Toyota builds a 4x4 body-on-frame SUV with a 6-spd manual transmission.
I can see the new 4R looking something like this…
New 4r will likely be smaller.
@jozzef40 New 4runner will be on this same exact TNGAF platform... LC300, GX550, LC250, Tundra, Tacoma all same platform and the smallest wheelbase is this 112"... 4runner will be this but trimmed out like the current Tacoma

That price is for 300 series which western world don't get. This vehicle is 50k USD average.

Jeeps are going to poop in there pants those engineers better get back to the drawing board I love jeeps yes there better rock crawlers the 392 jeep is way better than this land cruiser but, an average person will not fork out 97 grand for it that’s why this beautiful machine here will take over for less than 60 grand I’m in plus built in Japan to that’s why I purchased a 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD off road premium love built like a tank🤙🏾I use it for my Overland trips amazing vehicle not the fastest or MPGs suck but drives way better than a jeep 🤷♂️

This isn't 2010, we are now technologically advanced to produce 3 times more power from a 4 cylinder then a decade ago.
times have changed. the electric motor + turbo compliments the 4-banger at low rpm & at high rpms. more torque than an a V8 while still getting 27mpg which is unreal. this powertrain is gonna dominate the segment.
Ride a horse then.
