For people put off by the purge block, here's two potential solutions: If you have an reason to print multiples of whatever object you're printing, print them together in the same job. The amount of purge remains constant, but as a ratio of end-product to waste, it decreases. Another way to reduce waste is to print an object as a purge block; it needs to be of sufficient size and as tall as the last layer of a color change, but there are many prints where the mismatched colors won't matter (such as an object your might paint).
thank you this make alot of sense.
Looks great, nice job
Real nice job man.. Friggin awesome.
Thank you.
Great review, I'm going to give it a go.
Good Job! Thanks for your video. I am glad i watched your video before i plan to build my own ercf(maybe i dont need it,LOL)
Haha 😂 understand bro, but once it’s working it works great 👍🏿
Consider printing a pulley to adhere to the sides of your filament spools. Affix and wrap a thin nylon cord around it and add a weight to it. Now when the device swaps colors the filament will wind around the spool as the weight drops in synchronization. Try it. B-D
Interesting, I'll keep this in mind.
Thank you for the wonderful review. I really liked this ERCF, and i think to build one by my self. Or do you recommend parts by myself from BOM or take some kit from aliexpress? Do you plan to do a review in the future after a longer period of use? Thanks for the graet explanation. I will watch more of your uploaded videos. Wishes
HI, you have a great selection of printers in your possession ) Could you please advice which one is best of all? In particular for quick printing with PETG and eventually multilateral printing compatibility? Thanks in advance.
Hello friend! First of all I would like to congratulate you on your excellent work. I'm going to start my ERCF project now, looking at the manual I realized that it is not very well detailed in the programming part. Do you have any tutorials for configuring and loading the Raspberry PI Firmwares? Will I have to configure MMU2 on Marlyn?
Have a klipper tutorials on my channel, I don’t have a programming video however enough folks what to see that I can make a video for it
Does this needs any adfetional boards if ım going to run it on my elegoo neptune 4 pro?
Nero3d had an issue with the servo burning out on long prints as well. He ended up using a seperate 5 volt buck converter just for the servo to power it vs the 5 volt feed from the ERCF control board and that (so far) fixed the early servo death problem.
Also had to jump to Nema 17 as well
Thanks for sharing a simple fix. I think most of us have a buck converter laying around so should save some potential headache.
5v 10a or 5v 3a?
Did some digging, found out most microservos want 5v 3a
I didn't this because it doesn't trim and because it never uses a simple solution when a more complex one is available.
Learned alot from the ERCF though, I expect the one I design will be much better and simpler.
Thanks for doing these vids.
Thank you. I’d love to build your design, let me know when it’s available.
@@GoldenJaguar3D I will, but don't hold your breath. Prolly a year before I get serious about it. Only have some basic designs done so far.
Building a 100mm^2 extremely high speed printer right now. Goal is to print with 0.2mm nozzles at 0.1mm layer height with a "normal" total print time - so the machine will have to run about 4x as fast as a normal printer.
Then I have another project that will keep me until the fall...
@@joshua43214 no worries, that’s sound awesome share a vid once you the printer operational.
purging, whould be great to have option in slicer to print another stl as tower. In some cases doesnt matter what color it is, and I am always supriced how many of waste this multicolor prints cost. Maybye it is already?
I agree with you, but this is cheapest solution atm
would be sweet if you could print something instead of it just being a purge tower
This looks awesome
Where can i find the stls for the buffer on pegboard??
the buffer is a mod version of the original, because it sucks so I did a little ghetto job on tinker cad, but let me see if i can find it again. it was on thingyverse
@@GoldenJaguar3D Thank you!
What kind of buffer do you use for the spools? The one for the ercf are too bulky...
I found a ransom buffer wheel setup off thingyverse I didn't ghetto mod to it, I gonna see if find the link again didn't save it.
What's the setup you've got there for mounting your spools?
It's little ghetto setup its not worth it though because it still running issue with feeding filament and tangling issue.
How you find the ERCF after a year thinking of building one and thanks for the awesome videos
Its a great if you can assemble and tuned properly I've seen great results from it I think there still work do done it on to make just as good as bambu lads ams system.. but I still recommend as a side project.
@@GoldenJaguar3D Thanks if you did it as a kit is there one you heard that is decent
whats the buffer solution that works for you? Nice video
Well one in the video works ok but atm I'm currently printing out the carrot patch spool buffer as it seems to work best base of some user feedback I'm seeing.
Really dumb question but how do you colour a print ? I can’t fined anyone talking about it online
I'm prusa slicer there is a feature that allows you to color the any stl
Hi, please you share your buffer solution stl? thank you
honestly it's not great I would recommend you print out the carrot patch
github.com/EtteGit/EnragedRabbitProject/tree/main/Carrot_Patch
How do you setup multi color prints for this
Prusa slicer has a new paint stl features
Hello, I am French, I understand a little English but I would like to know a little more....
which part did you change?
I had to change the servo motor that use plastic gears to metal gears
Where can I get that wizard model?
