These are two items that I consider essential to take with me whenever and wherever I go exploring in the backcountry.
They can get you home and keep you from spending an unexpected night in your vehicle.
I believe in keeping it simple. These are just items that I prefer to have with me in my rig.

essential gear. and you are correct, there are more compact versions. but it's imperative to get *reliable* equipment.

I’ve always had a version of both of these over the years and they just are too handy not to have with me lol
Having a vehicle with onboard air is nice. Ours is mounted but that was more of a packaging and space issue. Now I want it on my old pickup as well, but want a tank for an impact.
It is a total game changer. Plus there are so many options to where you don’t have to break the bank to get out in the backcountry.

As long as you have one that can handle what specs your vehicle is, modern battery powered tools are pretty impressive. 😎👍🏻
